KOTOR2 Early Review ak Bashings, Smashings, & More
Carrie replied to Volourn's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In regards to random loot, I already ran into something silly in the first playthrough. I got the Circlet of Saresh from K1... twice. I checked, and sure enough, there were two of what should be a UNIQUE item in my inventory. They should have items that unique marked to not spawn more than once. -
Congratulations on Screwing it up Obsidian

Hm, I see a mod sitting quiet in this thread at the moment... -
My impressions after a day of non-stop play
Carrie replied to Thalandor's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm trying to figure out if one place is a bug, or no. There's a place where Kreia and Atton are seemingly talking in separate cells, but atton is not visible anywhere, even if he's in the scene. He wakes up outside somewhere after, but isn't he supposed to be in the cage for that one dialogue? -

This game is just fine. If you really want to see a game released with bugs, go find an original copy of Starfleet Command II: Empires at War. THAT game was abysmal when it was released, it took tons of patches to get it right, the devs eventually even had to give it over to a couple private people who were troubleshooting all of it. Took a year or two or such, for it to work totally right. Hell, single player didn't work either with that one. This game is fine. I haven't seen any/many bugs. I had one crash this morning, as a clue from the universe to stop playing it and go do what I needed to do... Otherwise, the only problem I've found with it is the same one as original. When its been running a long time, it'll act like ctrl or something is being pressed, all through dialogue . It'll all rush past till youneed to answer something, with no voice. Gotta save it, shut it down, and restart it, then. -
Hmm... I wonder if RotS will change that reviewers opinion. Watching the prequel stuff get destroyed to make way for the age of the old trilogy. I imagine that will make it quite popular to some, if for no other reason.
-
Lol, that's mean. I wonder if the game will be using the bioware automatic update system ?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe it is mean. But if it happens, it happens. And NWN2 flopping would potentially ruin Obsidian and their rep. People are saying that it's come in at some places, is the updating system still there, for patching, or is it noticably missing?
-
-If- they put out patches. If they won't, we need to start flooding every place that cares about NWN 2 with warnings that they won't stand behind their work.

has the pc version been released today?
Carrie replied to NeverwinterKnight's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Best Buy here in Sioux Falls checked (since I evidently made my foul mood quite apparent), and said it shipped today, but wouldn't get there till tomorrow. Needless to say, I intend to castrate the guy in customer service if it isn't there. *starts searching online websites to build bombs* Wonder if this is partially due to the fact that some stupid f***s in Walmart and such were putting it out several days early when the Xbox version released. -
Is the 'Punch it Chewie' cheat in Kotor 2?

Then getting another HD might be a good investment sometime in the future *hugs her 79 free gigs* -
Is the 'Punch it Chewie' cheat in Kotor 2?
Carrie replied to slim_reaper's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ah, so it's an Xbox only one. No wonder I hadn't heard of it. Guess I'll just have to make due with all the oodles of cheats the PC version will have, and has had. -

Er? What cheat is that, exactly? I haven't heard of it till you mentioned it just now. -
I don't have the game yet, mind you, but the "The Republic won't stand for what you've done here!" line, I swear, sounds like the same voice actor at least as Admiral Dodonna from KotOR 1.
-
*blink* Two bugs, in 8 playthroughs? Wow. You are, quite obviously, having a lot better luck with it than some others have

Oh, he was closer to all right in military affairs. Just that the personal issues with family and friends and the like made him sound that way. Militarily, he was fine, I assume.

Yeah, nice lie, when they truly mean "LucasArts is forcing us to push it out the door when it isn't finished, for the Christmas season. Sorry, Xboxers, but you have to get a buggy product thanks to them, the PC version will be on its real release date, and finished."
-
Back closer to the topic, I can't comment on KotOR II yet, though I'm looking very much forward to the PC version being less buggy than the Xbox one... :D But I will say this: I downloaded the demo for Republic Commando tonight, and played it through, The more I look, the more that game gets put on my 'must get' list. Cooler than I ever thought it would be

Ask me when I turn 50 next year. I have been gaming since before the PC and I am still going strong. As long as there are good games I will play and I do not see myself giving it up anytime soon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Here here. I've been gaming since the old model of the Atari 2600 was still called the Atari home entertainment system. Back before there was a 5200, and it still had ugly fake woodgrain on parts, to make it look 'clean' on the TV. I remember when I got a non-Atari joystick, wiggled it some, and was able to make Pac-Man bug out from the up/down tunnels, going clear down the screen through walls. Way before PC Gaming
-
None. It just makes me feel old that I remember both of them in the theater. It's a function of the fact that I turn 31 this coming June.
-
This will probably REALLY date me for being old, but... The descriptions of the ending that I've heard really make me think not only of ESB, but partly of Back to the Future II. When the end of the latter came in theaters, people in the audience openly groaned and laughed. But when III came out, put together they looked fine, as a 2 part 4 hour movie Too bad they can't pull that in a video game At least not glaringly like BTTF did.
-
Make sure you let cutscenes play /all/ the way through, without stopping them. In the PC version of KotOR, I had a problem like this in the Tomb of Ajunta Pall. I figured out that it was a bug in the droid powerup cutscene, after you feed the grenade to the therangean explosive wall. Essentially, I stopped out of it early, to hurry up. All the droids didn't power up, and both Jolee and Carth (in my party at the time) stopped talking to me. Sounds like this bug has made it into II as well.

Heh, nice exploit
-
lol That would certainly be funny to see :D

lol Nice one, Boiler

Bug or intentional difficulty on Korriban?
Carrie replied to Ryenke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would assume it depends... if you face other darksiders, or force ghosts, if whatever is doing it is sided with the others against you, sending them after you, it probably would block it then as well. Make you fight it /yourself/ without relying on the force so much for everything.
