  1. Cool! Can't wait to check it out. [v1.1.4, the Don't stop Believin' release] And... it's up on the iOS App Store (US).
  2. The cloud sync works really well when you only have one device with a stable network connection (or no network at all). But the more devices you are logging into, the better the chance that things can get a little dorked up. The good news is that a "newer" character should never be overwritten by an "older" one, but there's still a bit of potential different stuff to be synced to different devices unless you are really on top of force-quitting the app before you switch between tablets/phones.
  3. Locked status has nothing to do with a corrupted save. It is just a flag set in "the cloud" to keep two instances of the game from writing updates to the same character. It is similar to a PID lock in Linux or SQL. It works something like: Form a party of unlocked characters (i.e. those not on an adventure somewhere). Choose a scenario/quest/difficulty. Scenario starts, party characters are "locked" for the duration of play. Scenario ends, characters are unlocked again. The problem is that with multiple devices (or network issues), sync issues can occur between 3 and 4, and characters may remain locked even if their session is over. It would be nice, but I don't think there is currently anything in place to clean up "stale" character locks. As far as actually corrupted saves go, the game does a pretty admirable job of working through them. Bad characters can usually load, but manifest funny behavior like losing all your cards, or having an infinite hand size. They are usually "playable" enough to at least transfer your cards to new character. [seelah is not amused] Quite likely. Bi-directional cloud syncs only appear to happen immediately after you start the app (when you get the "Logged in!" popup). When playing with multiple devices it is good practice to force-quit every now and then to push a new round of synchronization.
  4. What kind of update are you talking about? Pathfinder 1.1.3? iOS 10? Edit: Nothing recent should have wiped your characters. Biggest source of oddness lately is iOS 10 logging people out of Game Center and then hiding the Game Center login in Settings. If you're logged into Game Center (or Google Play Store), you should have your characters synced back down from the server after you start the Pathfinder app.
  5. Quest mode uses its own modified Adventure Decks. Some cards have been shifted around to keep things from being too monotonous or too easy. In a sense, the Story Mode Adventure Decks were not well suited for random play, and the obsidian tried balancing things for "fun."
  6. No problem! Also, at the Main Menu, check out Options --> Rules. There is a list of terms the game uses which have specific definitions. As you've pointed out, some things (like "recharge") aren't entirely straightforward if you don't have previous experience playing the tabletop game.
  7. Inheritor's Favor - Recharge the Blessing of Iomedae - Card is returned to the bottom of your character's deck Inheritor's Favorite - Recharge or Shuffle the Blessing of Iomedae - Card can either go on the bottom of character deck, or shuffled somewhere randomly If you have a bunch of Blessing of Iomedae cards, the second class power could potentially keep them in continuous circulation.
  8. End of turn powers from Locations also. For example, If you send Seelah to the Apothecary for healing, she should still be able to: Ceaseless Crusade -> No Explore -> Apothecary Heal d6 -> Ceaseless Crusade After the heal, her turn is just over.
  9. It depends what mode you're trying to troubleshoot. SLOT1-9 - Story Mode SLOT99 - Quest Mode SLOT98 - Tutorial
  10. I'm noticing the same thing here. Also iOS 10 (not that it matters). Selecting the optional discard phase does not allow you to do the end-of-turn Ceaseless Crusade like it should. Not sure why that happens...
  11. Gotcha. Also, thanks for the post in general. It reminded me that I should start a Seelah in quest mode, and I totally forgot how fun it was to erase location decks with Ceaseless Crusade.
  12. Blessing deck as a game timer? Bah! Ezren doesn't care about your petty rules! Started off as a little joke about "Coming in June", ended up going somewhere entirely different.
  13. I'm a little late to the Seelah party, but what's the reasoning behind your choice of Horsechopper +1? A base Seelah should have Weapons Proficiency, and that particular card has the notorious "If proficient with weapons, the difficulty of this check is increased by 4" text. Seems like you'd be better off picking almost anything else. Edit: Clarity
  14. Game Center is still there. Things just got shuffled around in iOS 10. I haven't had any issues since the upgrade. Open up the Settings app and scroll down to Game Center (just above Twitter and Facebook). There you can verify that your Apple ID is logged in. If that's all good, then Pathfinder shouldn't have any issues.
  15. Same sort of issue with gold from defeated banes. For example, Elites have a higher average payout compared to Veterans. Took a while to build up enough data to compare to how I thought the game was handling things. Issues like this likely just got lost in the "noise" of randomness. Not a big deal now, but the vast majority of elite cards should disappear from play at AD6. Though, by then average payout for all monsters should be roughly the same.
  16. Congrats on the Sticky, Nym! Here's another bit of fun info. ---- Salvaging Cards: Treasure Cards have a gold value based on rarity and whether or not it possesses certain traits. The following table illustrates the derived rates. The center column, [], is "neither Basic nor Elite." Basic [] Elite Uncommon 8 10 12 Rare 12 15 18 Epic 16 20 24 Legendary 24 30 36 The cards you get as AD rewards (Samisen, Orik's Shield, Skinsaw Mask, Black Arrow Longbow) are technically treasure cards, but they cannot be salvaged. The same goes for the Goblin Golem of Obsidian. Previously, all cards discarded after a scenario were "salvaged" on their way back to the Vault, potentially earning the player a couple dozen extra gold. This feature has since been removed in favor of other new sources of gold (daily challenges and whatever else may be on the horizon...).
  17. I've got pretty decent sets of data at the moment. Pulling together up a "treasure chest simulator" is next up on my to-do list. For mostly academic reasons, I'm interested in determining how many treasure chests it would take to get one (or two) of each card. I'm not saying OP's results are good or fair, but a rough eyeballing of the numbers should put it somewhere in the top end of a standard deviation.
  18. Oh, the distribution isn't even at all. But the devs have hinted before that treasure cards are slightly weighted towards currently-playable Adventure Decks, and it seems to be reflected in my data. As the only Deck 2 legendary (and there are no AD3 Legendaries at present), Legion Armor just has an increased likelihood of coming up. Its the way it is. I'd say that this very true. Legendary AD(B) through AD4 drop at about 4x the rate of AD5 and AD6.
  19. Yup. Legion Armor happens to be the most likely legendary card right now. Tied for second should be Flask of Magic and Amulet of Inescapable Location.
  20. That's exactly it. "Normal" cards aren't subject to any particular limits. You can possess any number of them through trading/merging parties. Treasure Cards have enforced limits. Any party cannot have more of a treasure card than you've received in treasure chests. If merging parties puts you over the limit, one will disappear and you'll have to pick a replacement card.
  21. 8 Legendary Cards in 100 chests is right in the middle of the probability curve. That much seems legit. How the treasure picker actually selects the individual cards, well, that's some RNG magic that I don't have any data on. Also, Obsidian isn't expecting you to pay cash for your treasure chests, they just proposed that in the future, IAPs purchased with gold won't get the 25% bonus. Who knows if/when that change will even happen. Regardless, you will still be able to buy 40 chests with 20k gold. --- EDIT: Forgot to check my cross-tabs. As the only Deck 2 Legendary, Legion Armor probably does have a higher-than-average chance of selection. Yeah, 6 is a lot, but you're pretty likely to get at least 2 or 3 if you open a hundred chests. ---
  22. Just a stroke of bad luck or something. In the Unity Engine, random number calls all come from the same stream. Whether it's your roll or a bane's roll, it all comes from one pseudorandom sequence. In theory, there should be a somewhat even distribution among all d4s (both yours and bane's). Seeding should happen automatically after the first call. If you think you're neck-deep in a pile of terrible random numbers, just force quit the game and it should pick a new seed.
  23. Feel free to ask the devs yourself during their Twitch Q&A tomorrow. But keep in mind: 1. Some of the treasure cards aren't Obsidian originals, and just came from other published Adventure Paths. 2. Even if Obsidian did create the card, it still doesn't imply that they have the rights to let anyone put them up online. Nathan Davis has alluded to an approval process several times, and it wouldn't be unrealistic to assume everything is still Paizo's IP. Don't get me wrong. I think it would be super-cool to have a good card database online (and it would take no time at all to put together). It would have been tremendously helpful back when I played the tabletop version. It's just that the Community Use Policy frowns on such an endeavor.
