  1. [Replying to my own comment.....] Can confirm that Promo cards do appear in B-level scenarios. I was always pretty sure that it was the case; it just took a bunch of games to spot a P card in the wild.
  2. This came up on a previous thread. It should be possible to resolve if you can determine which character mysteriously got the Harpy card added into their deck, then banish it in the Deck Management screen. Solution 1: Solution 2:
  3. The way deck-building works in the game is that after you finish a scenario, you have the opportunity to keep, trade, or banish the cards your characters acquired. The cards you chose not to keep are sent back to the Vault (possibly to be encountered again later). Aside from the character's decks, you do not build up a "library" of shared cards to manage between games. Deciding which cards you keep after a scenario can sometimes be a difficult decision, because for every new card you want to keep, you'll need to swap it for a card that a character already has in their deck. Edit: Also, welcome to the forums! Glad you're enjoying the game.
  4. Plot twist! You've been beta testing the game all along! It's like a M. Knight Shyamalan movie! Just kidding. The game is in the best shape it's ever been, and patches usually get pushed in a timely manner. Though, between Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, there were probably more delays than usual getting the hot-fixes out... At least on iOS there's no way to casually select a test server or build. You'd likely be entering NDA territory.
  5. Good questions! It takes a little understanding of how treasure cards work to determine whether or not you should bother savaging a card. More often than not, it is fine to leave things as they are, unless you have a preposterous quantity of a single card, or just want to cash out cards for gold. I posted this before during AD4, but it is still a good example of how things work. There appears to be no upper limit that you are likely to reach concerning card quantities. I've heard reports of 300+ copies of a card, so programming-wise, the "true" maximum may be in the neighborhood of 65,000, but is probably higher. The vault graphics will probably glitch out before you hit the technical card limit. However, no matter how many of a card you have, just remember that treasure cards are randomly chosen for play by AD. It provides a small safeguard that you will still see other treasure cards even if you happen to have a silly quantity of one or two.
  6. Daily quests grant gold automatically; no need to pick them up. You get awarded the moment you complete the quest. Weeklies can be found on the reward pickup tab once they are complete.
  7. The challenge is actually advancing. You just aren't seeing the progress in real-time. Force-quit the app and relaunch, and you should see your progress when you push the Challenge button on the main menu. I'm not sure why some challenges update correctly and others do not. If you complete the challenge, expect the "challenge complete" window to pop up and award the gold. In fact, it is likely that you'll see the "challenge complete" window pop up several times, but you'll still only get the gold once.
  8. In defeating a bane with multiple tests, another character at your location can make some of the checks, as long as the character whose turn it is makes at least one of them. (Does this work in the app too? I need to go check, but it hasn't come up yet...) Yes. When you multiple characters in the same location a "Checkbox" looking icon will appear in the top middle of the screen. That allows you to pass off one of the checks. Sorry, I don't have a pic right now, but i'll try and find one. If a character dies in the card game, they lose all of their progression from previous adventures. Turn on Permadeath at the party management screen and you'll have a similar experience. Any other major differences I should know about? A handful of cards were modified due to paizo's wishes, or just didn't adapt well to digital. Scroll down to the bottom of Aarik's post to see the consolidated list of modified cards. There is no manual removal of basic and elite cards the same way it is implemented in the tabletop game. There is a system to gradually and automatically remove those cards as you move up in AD instead. The game recently added character alternates as IAPs. They are stat-tweaked versions of the existing characters that allow you to play them a little more differently. [i'll keep adding stuff as I remember it]
  9. He should automatically give the d4 bonus to any other character making a combat check at his location. It shouldn't, for instance, work if the characters are split, or if you are rolling something other than a combat check. Is there a specific situation where you would expect that it works, but isn't?
  10. Ok! 1. The Blessing timer...I don't see any numbers just the cards. You normally start with 30 turns. The timer shows how many turns you have left after this one. The Current Blessing occasionally has an effect on banes, or allows you to recharge certain blessings when played instead of discarding them. 2. I finished a campaign so was able to swap some cards around and noticed some were glowing green with and exclamation mark on it...what does that mean? Those are cards you acquired during the scenario. Nothing particularly special. They're just new boons that you picked up while playing. That is the main "deck-building" part of the game where you start deciding which new cards to keep, and which get sent back to the Vault (possibly to be found again later).
  11. Welcome! Glad you're having a good time! ---- 1. The Blessing Cards at the top of the screen....what do they do? I can't ever seem to play them. Can any character play them? Think of this as the countdown timer. Each turn, it subtracts one, and then the game is over if you run out. 2. Can I play this game with a friend? Say my friend is at her house and I'm at mine, possible? How does that work if so? At the moment, not really. Who knows if "true" multiplayer will come other than passing your tablet back and forth in the same room. 3. When you bury a card do you lose it from your deck forever? No. When you bury a card, its gone until the end of the scenario. If you banish a card, it goes back in the "game box" (Vault) and maybe you'll find it again someday. 4. Valeros always seems to have the exclamation mark by his icon but if he's at a different location he can't help the other characters can he? The exclamation mark thing is sometimes flaky, but it will also let you know if you have a blessing or specific card that may help out another character. 5. Can I fight other players? No. 6. Why not just go from area to area with a full group? Why split them? The game is mostly about "cornering" the bad guy so he can't escape. The better you're spread out, the more likely you are to "temporarily close" locations to limit where the Villain can move to. However, the down-side is that some characters can run into trouble when exploring by themselves. 7. Is there a timer for the campaign? Overall campaign? No. Each scenario is limited by the blessings countdown as in your question (1). Unless you're playing with permadeath on, there really is no setback to losing. You just need to try again. 8. You have to set your deck up before the campaign yes? How many cards can characters have in a deck and should we maximize that? Do you build your deck before the campaign? (Sorry have not really built a deck yet so not sure where to go to do that). Yes. You have a shot to customize your deck a little when you first start. However, most of the deck-building comes from playing scenarios and picking up new cards. It's ok to just roll with the defaults when you start and then pick up "better" cards as you get the hang of things. As you move through the game, you'll be allowed to chose which card types you can increase on each character.
  12. I've honestly not seen them either. Maybe I need to play the B scenarios more often, but anything that is in the scenario vault has been selected from the lists of available cards and technically could be put in play. I don't think there's anything in the App regulating when promo cards are added to the vault. You have them or you don't. If you do, they're part of the game.
  13. Well, that is wrong. This is what Rise of the Runelords FAQ have to say about adding Promo cards to the box ... Good catch. Paizo.com seems to be hard down right now, but I believe you're right. When I said "the game should" it was an observation/analysis of how the App behaves. I wasn't speaking for the whole body of rules and errata that makes up the Pathfinder ACG universe. Should the app check when to add promo cards? FAQs say probably. Does it? No, it does not. Promos are currently found in B onward. Unless a dev is willing to chime in, it is hard to tell if this is another minor deviation from the Pathfinder ACG body of rules, or if they just missed the errata.
  14. The game should always add promo cards if you have them. There isn't any minimum AD check. Easiest way to verify this is to start a B scenario and go check out the vault. Those are all the cards that are available for play that session. All the Promo cards you possess should be visible alongside B-Deck and C-Deck (if you have it).
  15. I would argue that the scarcity of demons in RoTR is proof that the Demonbane Longsword is super effective and scared them all away! Kidding aside, it is the only other strength/melee weapon (besides AD5 Dancing Scimitar) with a "you may additionally recharge this card" power. The fact that it can recharge itself it a nice perk for weapon users other than Valeros. You might be able to overlook the fact that there are only a handful of Demons in RoTR if you can get some good use out of the self-recharging ability.
  16. Don't worry. The card isn't taking up any valuable slots in your deck. It is just useless filler. Next time you have a chance to Banish a card at the Village House or General Store, you can get rid of it that way. Or, if you go to the Deck Management screen, you can select the character that has it and press "View All" to find it. From there, drag it down to the bottom half of the screen and press the green arrow to trash it and return to the map.
  17. No, not really. But regarding the Rolling All The Way Bundle, you should have one of two problems. - You bought it right as it first was announced, and you didn't get anything. - You bought it after they fixed something on the server, and you got the dice, chests, and Pathfinder Chronicler card, but not the Song of Hawkmoon. There is something odd about the Hawkmoon card, and it is showing up in the gallery as 'N - 1' copies. Have one? Doesn't display. Have two? Displays as one. Etc... A patch should sort that out eventually.
  18. Oh, you don't have to. That's the magic! ***shhh, don't let the developers know!**** When you start a new party with new characters, it creates save that is on the first scenario and has no record of receiving any rewards. When you add experienced characters to the new party, the save then has access to all the levels the veteran has completed, but still has no record of any rewards. You still need to keep the new guy around to receive the reward after the scenario. You can't completely hustle the game. Good luck!
  19. If you can't banish it during a scenario, when you are in the post-game deck management screen, it should be visible in a character's deck if you click the "View All" button. From there, just drag it down to the lower-half of the screen and the game will trash the card for you.
  20. How do you get them back? Shenanigans is the answer. It takes a little bit of effort, but it is not impossible to replay scenarios for their loot cards.
  21. I already let the devs know about Song of Hawkmoon. It is almost certainly in your account, so it may take a patch to solve why it won't show up in the gallery...
  22. The two cards you should have received are: Pathfinder Chronicler (AD3 Ally) Song of Hawkmoon (AD6 Spell) There seems to be an issue getting the Song to display in the vault even if you own a copy. Check if you at least have the Chronicler. The Festive Wool Hide (Promo Armor) that Hannibal was talking about was the free holiday gift.
  23. support@obsidian.net You'll be helped by pretty much the same devs that cruise the forums. Email is just an alternate way to contact them.
  24. I'm noticing the same thing here on iOS. When I defeated a bane there was no popup, nor any record of advancement in the "Challenges" menu. This has happened before on a couple other recent challenges. If you see no progress, force-quit the app and reopen it. Even if the pop-up window doesn't show, daily challenge progress gets pushed off to the server each time you complete a step. Sometimes you need to restart the app to resync.
  25. If you have everything else, Song of Hawkmoon is probably in your account. However, there is an issue getting the vault to display it if you have a copy...
