  1. Do you recall if you happened to use any items during the combat check? There is a rule that you are only allowed to used one card per type per "step" in the game. For the purpose of encountering banes, the step doesn't "reset" until you are done with that check's damage phase. If Seoni played any item card on the combat roll, when it came time to sort out damage she'd be unable to use a second item's powers to reduce damage. I don't think I've heard of any specific bugs with the Medallion. More often than not, issues with "why can't I reduce damage?" are related to the one-card-per-step rule, or cards just being unable to reduce certain damage types (like Fire or Mental).
  2. Permadeath is normally off by default. When a character dies in a scenario, they return to your party after it is over, and keep adventuring onwards. The only real loss is that dead characters do not receive end-of-sceario rewards. While the characters that completed a scenario can't get the rewards a second time, going back and replaying scenarios is a way to catch up characters that might have missed out on a reward. It might not be a big deal for random reward cards, but you would certainly want to go back and replay scenarios where a character may have missed a skill/power/card feat. If you specifically turned permadeath on in the party management screen, then she's gone for good and you may need to replace her. Though, I doesn't sound like that's what you are describing. Gather your party and venture forth.
  3. All Hallow's Eve Part 2 just dropped. Looks like another chance for everyone to get a set of Spooky Dice if they missed the last opportunity!
  4. Well, this week's challenge is All Hallow's Eve Part 1. We still need to discover what All Hallow's Eve Part 2 might bring...
  5. Edit: Never mind. Jenceslav beat me to it with their explanation on downgrading difficulty.
  6. Alright everyone, just under an hour left to spam some blessings to knock out that first challenge. #KeepHopeAlive
  7. FYI, if you haven't noticed, the weekly challenge rewards a set of the seasonal Spooky Dice! Four challenges remaining in the week, four challenges required to get the dice. A little over 8 hours to get the first daily in, if you haven't started until now. I believe in you all, my adventuring friends.
  8. Ilsolari sounds like he could be behaving normally. His text reads: "reveal this card and put it on top of your deck". Every time you play him for his power, he becomes the next card your character will draw. Unless you are trying to say that you play him, shuffle your deck for some other reason, and he's reliably always on top, that might not be a bug. As far as other potentially bugged shuffles go, the community has been chasing that rumor around for the better part of a year now. Some people swear a thing happens every time, others attest that shuffles always seem to be behaving normally. There's never really been a consensus in what way that shuffles might be broken.
  9. Well, if that's the case, the honor of first discovery should go to Bullwinkle, who spotted it like two months ago. Personally, I was willing to just explain it all away as Goblins being goblins. "A two's a four And four's a two. Just throw our dice Before we throw you!"
  10. The app has a Medusa's Mask consistent with the errata text. Even in the original text, monsters were always returned to their discovered location. What the card errata should have cleared up was: When you encounter a monster from a location deck (does not apply to summoned monsters, just those in location decks) and you may display this card next to that deck (help remind the player where the monster came from) and it still counts as part of the location deck except for the purpose of exploring (you can't close an "empty" location by using the Mask to hold a card to the side)
  11. Not entirely a bug. More of a minor exploit regarding online/offline connectivity. During a reddit AMA (or a twitch stream), the devs talked about potentially selling additional slots to increase stash sizes, and the app seems ready to support that plan whether or not it ever happens. It's only after you login that the server seems to inform the game: "you are authorized 10 stash slots, and these are the contents you should probably have." They certainly could hard-code a limit of 10 for the time being, but who knows if that will conflict with an eventual plan for stash upgrade licenses. Regarding your first issue, what platform are you playing on? Every device seems to have a different set of troubleshooting tips to help solve connectivity issues.
  12. There isn't much to be done if you are on Android. There is definitely something flaky going on with the login services currently. If you're on iOS, double check that you are signed into Game Center (Settings app--> Game Center). Sometimes iOS updates can log you out and cause all sorts of sync issues. Can't always be first... I start off the morning with a -3 posting speed modifier until my first cup of coffee (or two).
  13. Eh. That's true too. Perhaps just "A big bag of dice to get your party through any adventure. Six of each dice set found in the treasure chests." I'm actually a little surprised that the restricted dice sets are even visible. They used to remain hidden unless you possessed a set so your collection wouldn't taunt you with unobtainable goods...
  14. It would probably be simpler to say "Includes every Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary dice set found in Treasure Chests." The dice exceptions listed above were never for sale individually or occasionally found while opening treasure chests. As far as those character bundles go, the pricing should have been updated more in line with this chart. It hasn't happened on the US store either. I'm still seeing them for about $30 apiece, instead of the expected $5.
  15. Heh. Don't worry about cheating! The game is non-competitive, and half the fun is exploiting bugs or finding loopholes in the rules! But as Gifted1 already ninja-posted, you'll need either the full PFID (On the bottom of Options-->Settings), or your full user handle (AwesomeLord #1337). Just posting the 4-digit number may not be enough to identify a particular account.
  16. The dice pack seems to be slightly bugged at the moment. Hello, this is a known issue and will be fixed in the upcoming patch (which is coming very soon). If you don't want to wait you can give me your PFID and i'll sort it right out But regarding the asmodee link error and loss of party progress, it's recommended that you follow the above advice. MrBishop has been crushing bugs like a hero, and should be able to take care of things once he has your account details.
  17. Heck yeah! Maybe because of $FLIMSY_PLOT_REASON he could meet up with Damiel along his adventures. A pair of d12 scholars with a knack for turning encounters into explosions!
  18. [meh, never mind.] Pulls ejector seat handle and departs the thread. Keep it civil, friends.
  19. Yeah. I hate that the first wave of discussion with mass casualties is always about tools used or the accuracy/prowess of the shooter. I'm not saying we can't discuss two things at once, but it would be nice to have a short breather to get past the trauma and devastation before armchair quarterbacking the incident and political ramifications. Not true. If you toss "transferrable M16" into google, you'll bring up more listings than you would imagine should be the case...
  20. Not entirely true. NFA weapons registered prior to 1986 are still allowed to be owned by civilians on a state-by-state basis. Since supply is limited and it is difficult to secure repair parts, it wouldn't be unusual for a legal full-auto to cost something north of $10k-20k. But yeah, civilian ownership of post-1986 automatic weapons without a very specific class of dealer's license are entirely prohibited, as is attempting to convert or build your own.
  21. I know the QA superheroes are already on it, but if you don't have the Obsidian Edition (or a whole ton of treasure cards), you may run into this issue while playing the Valeros DLC. So far as I can tell, there are a small number of Treasure Cards naturally found in the deck for Valeros' Adventure. Not a problem if they were already in your collection from opening Treasure Chests or DLC packs, but if they aren't in your account, funny business as described above seems pretty likely.
  22. Great! Glad that was it! Pathfinder Community Support team: Take the night off! You deserve it!
  23. Archer is somewhat working properly. This is one of the cases where you need to be careful and pay attention to the "roll optimizer." When Merisiel plays a Light Crossbow, it uses her Dexterity for the combat check: d12(dex) + d8(l.crossbow) When she plays an additional Archer, the game reads through the card and thinks, "ok, I think we need to switch this to a Ranged attack!" Since Mersiel doesn't explicitly have that skill, the check changes to: d4(ranged)+d8(l.crossbow)+d4(ranger) However, you should be able to just tap on the check type in the top-center of the screen and change it back to a dexterity roll. From a rules-lawyering standpoint, regardless of whether or not a character has or uses the Ranged Skill, the act of playing a weapon with the Ranged Trait turns it into a Ranged Check. The wording on the Archer card is loose enough that applies to any Ranged combat check, not just just combat checks that use the Ranged Skill. The creator of the tabletop game explained as much here.
  24. [Please bear with me, this turned into a longer-than-anticipated answer....] To be honest, few really understand what's going on here, and it's slowly causing problems for players and the game as a whole. The last few weeks of Steam reviews have been pretty ugly, specifically because of mixed perceptions on what Treasure Chests actually do. When Treasure Chests started out, all they did was add new cards and dice to a players overall collection. The more you opened, the more treasure cards were added to your collection (AKA "The Game Box"), and the greater the likelihood of randomly encountering them during play. Simple enough. However, a common complaint was "hey, I opened a bunch of Treasure Chests but when will I ever get to use them?!" It was a reasonable concern. In order to ensure the game played mostly similar to tabletop, the amount of treasure cards allowed in any given scenario was gated, and prevented the normal campaign cards from being flooded-out by your collection of boosters. It keeps the game somewhat uniform, but as a side-effect, restricts the number of treasure cards seen in play. So, starting with the PC release, we got the stash. Because there it is a "buffer space" for cards that exist outside of "the box" or your character inventories, it gave the developers a way to address that issue. Now, every time you open a Treasure Chest, copies are still added to your collection (increasing their odds of encounter during play), AND a courtesy copy gets dropped into your stash so you can immediately put it to use (instead of waiting to find it). What started as a goodwill gesture to address a common player complaint, has now angered an entire other group of players who see the Treasure Chests as "loot crates" and the loss of those courtesy copies as a personal attack on whatever time or money they may have invested in the game. Soooo..... back to the questions at hand. Yes, you lost a few instances of a card you possess, but they are still in your overall collection and may be discovered again someday. You have retained the same total quantity of treasure cards in your account, regardless of how many stash instances get lost or salvaged. It is frustrating that bugs can eat cards from the unclaimed stash, but customer support should be able to reinsert them you've kept track of what disappeared. Otherwise, maybe you'll just see them again later as you play through the game.
  25. That seems to be known bug right now. It's the same on iOS as well. The in-game store isn't aware you purchased the content, but the rest of the game knows when you have a license for the Goblins campaign, and will happily let you play it. The store glitch can be safely ignored until the next patch rolls around.
