  1. The wording was changed a little while back. It was always a More Effects/Less Effects setting rather than On/Off anyway. Turning it off (Low) disables some of the extra 3D effect layers. Most noticeably, it turns off most of the fire VFX like those visible on the goblin's torches on the main menu. If you're on a particularly low-end android device, I believe it may default to the lower setting based on system memory or other hardware specs.
  2. Honestly, there's no telling how the bundle will look next week. As it stands, all that the RoTR bundle will get you is a half-dozen or so promo cards and six sets of red dice. Presently, a $15 purchase on Steam includes the same RoTR bundle for $10 less, plus a copy of all the Uncommon and Rare treasure cards. The mobile bundle and the PC bundles have been out-of-sync for a little bit, and for a while now, Steam has been offering more for less, all of which can be synced with mobile if you link accounts. The $25 purchase on Steam (the same cost of the mobile bundle) includes a boatload of additional content. It provides all the alternates, the goblins campaign, one of every treasure card, and a handful of extra cards and perks. If you're interested in purchasing content (or a few promo cards), it would probably be best to see what changes occur next week. There may be more than just the price reduction in play if the mobile and steam marketplaces are aiming for parity.
  3. Muck Grauls themselves are the bug. Man, there's almost no encounter they can't derp up. As far as the actual encounter goes, here's some of the tabletop lore behind it: Jordimandus is the last remaining Warden of Sloth. A legit lazy dude, he's pretty much been sitting in the same chair for the last 9000 years. However, he did have a productive spell early on, and he made a pact with the demon Jubilex and scored himself a new heart that effectively makes him immortal... as long he doesn't leave the room (it's that black spidery thing visible in the middle of his chest). During the encounter, he summons monsters to engage the players, and doesn't do an awful lot unless directly threatened. As you get close to beating him, he'll beg for his life and offer up the secrets of the Runeforge in return. Anyways, that's how the villain card turned into the wierd abstraction of: "summon monster to fight player, and if bested, negotiate with the player if they are willing to lay down their weapons."
  4. Okay, here's a list of cards that are only encountered in the Valeros scenarios, plus the scenario reward cards highlighted in orange. ALLY: Master-at-Arms, Quartermaster, Farmer's Daughter ARMOR: Clairvoyant Aegis, Trusty Scale Mail HENCHMAN: Hired Hand, Kobold Warrior, Orc Poisoner, The Muscle ITEM: Alacritous Draught, Commander's Decree, Topaz of Strength, Boots of Speed, Trusty Tankard MONSTER: Kobold Hunter SPELL: Unearthly Aim, Masterwork, Call Weapon VILLAIN: Barkeep, Kobold Heretic, Spurned Farmer's Daughter, Sycorius, Twoblades WEAPON: Cestus +1, Devouring Trident, Old Friends As for getting them to display in your collection... there really isn't much you can do right now. So far as the game knows, they're basically invisible. It's easy for the game to sort out the Goblins cards because they're technically part of a separate campaign. However, Valeros cards aren't entirely RoTR campaign cards, nor are they Treasure Cards. The way the game displays card sets wasn't really made to parse oddball decklists like the the Valeros DLC. Fixable? Yeah. Probably. But don't quote me on that; it's not like I work there.
  5. In case any PC players are wondering what changed, here are the notes included with the iOS update:
  6. Hawkmoon269 (on these forums as 269Hawkmoon) is a bit of a local legend in the Pathfinder ACG community. They're an experienced voice in the tabletop forums, and it wouldn't at all be surprising to hear if they had an opportunity to help test elements of the digital game. Also, the "three wolf moon"-style card art is super awesome. The card wins a ton of style points on that alone!
  7. Heh heh. Some of the best "bugs" are the times that the digital game is so quickly and faithfully following the rules that you can barely make sense of why a thing is happening. Though, that's often indistinguishable form actual bugs. A complex, intertwined ruleset can really keep you guessing sometimes.
  8. Zombie Giant is another one of those cards with.... history. Not a bug; just could have been done better.
  9. Honestly there's no good reason for it, but the disconnects largely happen between the base campaign cards (the ones found in the physical edition), and the Treasure Cards that Obsidian created/added. There are more than a handful of examples where treasure cards clearly out-class originals, and do so at a lower AD. But regardless of where the original Blessing card may have been in the game, the majority of "super-blessings" fall along the spectrum of: Favor (B), Bounty (1), Doctrine (1-3), Unity (3-4), Prayer (4-6) It also depends on when a Treasure card was added to the game. They were released in chunks across the first year of development. There were some legit dry spells in the mobile rollout; specifically waiting on AD5/6. As such, general patterns in treasure card distribution seem to favor the earlier half of the game. I suppose it wasn't so much a big deal before when you had you had to crack open a bunch of chests to get fancy blessings, but now that a large portion of the player base got them through steam bundles, it may seem weird that cards are ordered the way they are.
  10. I think there will probably be update relatively soon. If you're willing to believe the rumors, there should be a patch going through QA right now. Based on historical trends, unless something comes up, we're likely to see an update in the next few business days. Patch Warning Level: Imminent
  11. Yup. I was playing around with things to see how glitchy I could make things before the game broke. Sometimes I'm surprised that my account still works...
  12. The memory problem should have been addressed a little better in their "smart streaming" patch from a while back. If I recall correctly, Pathfinder was doing the typical "LOAD ALL THE THINGS!!!1!" behavior in Unity: (24 characters) X (~20 cards, with text, art, and image assets) = I hope your device has enough horsepower to immediately jam that all into memory Doesn't seem like much, but it was the tabletop equivalent of 500 face-up cards that suddenly need to get built and displayed (whether or not they were actually visible). Nowadays, it should't just arbitrarily grab a huge chunk of memory like that, and focuses more on what is displayed in front of you. Anyhow, probably the biggest thing preventing an increase in the roster size is that the character picker is a little clunky. It is already a bit of a pain dealing with the present limit. That interface would probably need some rework to not be utterly maddening to sort through like 35 characters. (No, I'm not sure at all what I did to have so many characters, but I deleted a bunch before the game had a chance to get really mad at me.)
  13. Here's the list you're looking for. Borissimo gave us an epic writeup of all the iconic alternates. I think the only thing it is missing is the Valentine's Promo alts for Valeros and Harsk. One can swap out the skins (also called Equipment Sets) just as easily as they can change a characters's set of dice.
  14. Erf. Might be a little bit glitchy, but I just checked that it works fine with a new party. 1. Start a new party and get to the overworld. Tap the Deck Management icon: 2. Since it is a fresh character you should see the Collection Tab visible at the bottom. Tap it. 3. Ok, looks like there's a display glitch. When you tap on the Collection Tab, nothing initially happens. Though, after you do that, tap on any of the card types at the top, and then the bottom window will populate with the available cards. May not entirely be straightforward, but it does still work. Good luck!
  15. After you create a party (when you're at the world map), but before you attempt your first scenario, you should be able to tap the deck management icon in the bottom right to customize the starting deck for new characters. You'll be limited to B-deck Basic cards, but you should have the ability to swap around some cards as would be allowed per the tabletop rules.
  16. Best rumor that we've got is that maybe something with Tup is coming. Magical adventure with Ezren or Seoni? Another Goblin Deck? Dunno. It's all very hush hush. Tup did come with a cohort card. One of those would be a first for the digital game
  17. Oh. No. I'm not suggesting that we'll go back to content for gold. If I were to comb through my posts, I could probably find something from over a year ago where I argued it might be better for the game if that were phased out. The generous F2P model was pretty cool, but we'll never see another Adventure Path if all the developers have to show for their effort is a huge pile of in-game gold. What I would suggest, is that there might be a fair amount of low-effort opportunities to get users to spend their reserves. For instance, we've had the same seven "enhancement" cards in the store for forever. Even changing it up monthly would be pretty radical. The question isn't so much "should a lot more stuff be sold for gold?" it is "how does gold remain a relevant currency for players?" The economy realignment happened fairly suddenly (even if expected for a long time), but it was the opening salvo in trying to stabilize the currencies and answer that second question.
  18. I think we're at a point where we all agree that nothing was actually stolen from players. The issue at hand is that the subjective valuation of in-game currency may have taken a hit depending on one's long-term plans for it. And the funny thing is that the posters here aren't entirely wrong. It would be nice if there were some things to spend gold on other than consumables and chests. I'm not sure what form that would take, but maybe buying additional stash slots or rotating the "enhancement" cards every now and then would provide a few other options.
  19. I know the moderators don't come around these parts too often, but let's all try to keep this from becoming too personal. --- Nobody is questioning the fact that the change burned a fair amount of goodwill among the mobile players that have been with this game for a long time. However, if you can articulate what you would like them to do, there is a reasonable chance they'd be able to help out. Got a pile of gold saved up for AD5 and you never got the memo about price changes? Send them an email. Were you slowly grinding out the 10000 gold for the Character Deck and didn't make the purchase in time? Send them an email. But it is extraordinarily unlikely that we're ever going back to the "old" system that included F2P options. The change happened at little while after Asmodee was brought on as a publisher, so future decisions about the game pricing may not entirely be up to the developers anyway. It's a cash economy going forwards, but customer support is still there to support. There's probably some solution out there for players who feel they got shorted, however arguing in this thread wasn't meant to be one of them.
  20. I've also got a Staff of Minor Healing that seems to be misbehaving. There are probably a whole host of "Recharge a card from your discard" powers that are a little derpy right now.
  21. Haa hahahaha! Oh man. So... Good news: it looks like the weekly challenge schedule has been fixed. Amusing news: something apparently happened on the back-end and the weekly challenge is now handing out a Festive Wool Hide instead of the Spooky Dice, or Gold. My apologies in advance if this was prompted by my Ghost of Christmas Challenges Past wisecrack.
  22. I wish you and the crew a happy holiday, and a wonderful weekend! Cheers!
  23. Look, I know it was an unexpected change for everyone, but you still have all the gold you paid for. Nothing was stolen from you, or anyone else. You may have lost a means to purchase content at a discounted price (or free), but that's about the extent of it. There was a serious discussion about the changes two months ago, and the developers did admit that the transition wasn't handled as they'd hoped, but it was manifest necessity to realign the in-game economy and maybe, just maybe, turn enough of a revenue to encourage further development. The F2P system was really generous, but as time wore on, it became obvious that it couldn't last forever. So, despite the bluster, despite the rhetoric and accusations, just consider sending them an email; they'll probably still help you out. It's a long weekend in the US, so it's guaranteed to be a while before you get a response, but they've actually been trying their absolute hardest to do right by their players.
  24. It's not normal. It is a recent bug and the devs are already on it. See this thread for more info.
