  1. Hah! :D Well, if things don't get fixed shortly, we're less than a month away from getting a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Challenges Past!
  2. Yes, they can look up how many real dollars you've spent on your account. Send them an email at support@obsidian.net and explain your situation. They're a reasonable enough group of people over there, and might be able to manually process whatever transaction the in-app store no longer allows. Anyways, if you don't mind my asking... why would you buy a whole bunch of gold and then not use it to unlock content? What were you waiting for? The reason that so few people have been really outraged by this change is that the only players it would theoretically affect are those who made a large gold purchase and then just sat on it for a while.
  3. Um. Yeah. The reason this reward just popped up in the queue instead of at the usual weekly reset...., is that it is the Thanksgiving challenge from 2016. Yes, it displays the spooky dice, but since things may have changed since last year it doesn't appear setup to hand out the right reward. That's why you're only getting 100 gold.' EDIT: I've PM'd MrBishop for visibility. Things might get a little crazy from here on out if 2016 challenges start showing up in the middle of the week.
  4. They do. Lots of bugs get added to their work list even if they don't specifically acknowledge it. If you're looking for a personal response, try sending off an email to support@obsidian.net, but otherwise they harvest many of their bug reports from these forums.
  5. Yeah. It's a bummer. Though, if it is related to the bug where Valeros can't recharge his discarded weapons, a team of elite programmers is already on the case. Last time an issue like this cropped up, it affected a few of the post-turn recharge powers.
  6. What platform are you playing on? If you're playing mobile, an uninstall/reinstall should likely clear things up with minimal effort. If you're playing the steam version, it may be possible to delete some local save files to fix this.
  7. A few others have discovered this as well, and a thread has been started over in the tech support forum. Bug of weapon master’s ability
  8. The iOS version seems to have gone live overnight. Go back and check if the update didn't already happen automatically.
  9. Well, it appears to have gone live on the App Store (US). It may have taken a little while longer than usual to propagate throughout the regions, but it's there now.
  10. Ah, sorry about that. Sometimes people wander into the forums confusing this game with the Pathfinder RPG or accidentally post something meant for Pillars of Eternity. Anyway, Pathfinder Adventures is a strategy card game (not a CCG), where you use your characters to clear location decks to corner and defeat the scenario villain. You gain better cards and powers as you make progress, but the game does do a pretty good job of scaling with you and keeping your attention. It isn't really related to RTWP games, it plays like it has more in common with a puzzle game or solitaire instead of a "real" RPG. The game has a free demo on mobile (Andriod and iOS). You can check out the first few base scenarios free of charge before determining if you want to commit to the rest of the game, or buy it on steam instead. It should play fine on an older computer. There are also a handful of videos on youtube . DanDizz helped narrate this quick intro for Obsidian: And there are also some more in-depth tutorials like this one from Borissimo:
  11. Wait up. I think you might be in the wrong forum. Pathfinder Adventures is a digital adaptation of a card-based RPG. It's a single-player strategy game. The hot new RTWP that Obsidian is presently working on is Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. Forum over here.
  12. Hi! The PC version, and the iOS/Andriod mobile versions, offer the complete Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path from the physical card game. This includes all Rise of the Runelords Adventure Decks through AD 6. Additional content that Obsidian has released include: a number of Treasure Cards (add-on cards), Rise of the Goblins and Valeros: A Fighter's Tale mini-expansions, and some alternate versions of the iconic characters. At present, there is no information released about the development of further Adventure Paths or Character Add-On decks. Though, it is possible that a few characters may join the game in the future (like how Tontelizi was introduced in the Valeros expansion).
  13. Well, the Steam Page went live a few hours ago. If there's a mixup, it isn't on our end. http://store.steampowered.com/app/560130/Pillars_of_Eternity_II_Deadfire/
  14. Just try playing a card anyway. If you use a "locked" card, then the wisdom check will pop up for that character. The behavior changed like a dozen patches ago. The game used to Wisdom check all characters first, and it was a little annoying because not everyone was necessarily going to contribute something to the check. This way, it only Wisdom checks characters that attempt the check, or attempt an assist. Though, judging by this question periodically popping up, the interface could probably be a little clearer in describing what is going on.
  15. How do you know? The Deadfire SEC filing from March of this year. You can finesse the truth a little bit when dealing with fans or the media, but when you're providing information to potential investors, you have to be very careful to stick to verifiable facts.
  16. It's going to be Vintage Bike Simulator 2018. Face it, Josh has been dropping hints on instagram for years now.
  17. Consumer unwillingness to pay a fair price for games in general has also been an issue, not just add-on DLCs. Console games have maxed out at $60 for almost 20 years, and many major PC games have stalled in the $40-50 range. Efficient distribution and digital delivery isn't enough to offset decades of inflation. Amortizing total development costs through DLC releases is the norm because nobody wants to pay a base $90 for the next Call of Duty. (e.g. $60 in year 2000 has about the same buying power as $88 today) Mobile markets have their own set of issues, but that's partly because everyone is convinced those games should somehow be free, or no more than $5.
  18. All of your characters, across all of your parties, are part of one large roster. When a character is assigned to a party, consider them "checked out" of the main roster until the party is disbanded or they are booted from a group. After they are a free agent again, they can be added to any other party in progress. To modify a party in progres, pop open the "Manage party" window. From there, you can click on the (-) button to remove them from the party, or click on the (+) button to add a new or existing character. In the case of your Lem, the easiest thing to do it to delete his party save. From the Main Menu, go to Start -> Rise of the Runelords and click the red X in the top-right corner of the solo Lem party. Once the party is deleted, it will free up Lem to join other parties. Just keep in mind that when you start mixing and matching party members that you can always go back and replay old scenarios to fill in any gaps in advancement. The "old" party members won't receive the reward a second time, but anyone that may have missed out can pick it up. While it isn't technically against the rules to mix players, it is a non-traditional way of playing the game. I can feel a little like cheating if you have a couple AD6-level characters shepherding a new party through the game.
  19. That's a fairly jaded view. Honestly though, they care about all the same things as the rest of us. Allowing players to purchase almost everything in Pathfinder via in-game gold was a noble experiment, but ultimately the game needs the support of paying users to keep going. I'm sure they didn't take that decision lightly.
  20. I'm referring to the Cancel this action X that is on the left edge of the screen, not the missing X in the top-right corner of the discard window. Here are a couple screenshots from this morning as I knocked out the daily challenges: Improved Mending fired off, expected X in top-right of Discard window is missing, not replaced with a grayed-out box or other filler image. The Amulet of Fortitude just won't drag from the top window to my deck. However, I can use the "Cancel Action" X on the left edge of the screen to give up. I was also able to select the options button to give the "Vault Return Trick" a try. And here's a closeup of the card without any draw button: I was eventually able to drag down the Mattock, but I currently don't know why that card (or card position) worked when others seemingly didn't. I'll have to see what happens next time Improved Mending comes around.
  21. I don't know if it is just something about using a mouse pointer vs touch screen, but after the card has come up a few times for me, I agree that Mending still doesn't work quite right. Though, you shouldn't have to alt-tab out of the game. You can still cancel the spell with the red X, or tap the options button, view your collection, and then back out. That forces a UI redraw and often seems to help out when things are acting funny.
  22. There were some pretty big announcements about the changes to the in-game economy when the 1.2.8 patch dropped. The following post has all the details: Price Changes Coming to the Mobile Version of Pathfinder Adventures! The bad news is that gold can no longer be used to buy content or characters. It's mostly just for Treasure Chests and consumables now. However, the good news is that the cash-only bundles have been significantly rebalanced. Spending a few dollars here and there goes a long ways further than it used to. After a year and a half of ad-free, cash-free unlocks, the decision was made that the future health of the game was going to rely more on player support to continue.
  23. Sometimes it takes a restart (or two) to get a sync to fire off right. Close the app on your phone and see what happens when you open it back up. After you're logged in, also check that the username in the top-left is the same on both devices. - If it is missing, double-check that you're logged into iOS Game Center or Google Play. - If the two names differ, go to Options --> Settings and take note of the PFID numbers at the bottom of the screen. If the merge still didn't seem to work correctly, email support@obsidian.net with your PFID (or PFIDs), and they should be able to sort things from their end.
  24. The weekly challenge resets occur at 0000 UTC on Monday. Not sure where you are in the world, but in the Americas, that happens Sunday "evening", and over in Europe it should be early Monday. The "four days left" countdown has always been a little misleading. There are four whole days left after however many hours are left of "today". If you entirely ignore today's Lem challenge, you still have: Thursday (3 days left) Friday (2 days left) Saturday (1 day left) Sunday (0 days left) Totally still possible to nab the dice even if you don't start until tomorrow. The Lem challenge is the only annoying one in the queue. The remaining four challenges in the week shouldn't be nearly as difficult for most players to complete. (Not that the challenge is hard, just a lot of people don't have a Lem ready to take on Local Heroes solo)
