Nope. Handmaidens is easier (just get her angry), Atton's one is much harder seeing how random acts of both LS and DS influence him, and you need to *loose* inf for it. Used M4-78EP too?

Not that there was much to go from on ME2, the story being what it was. Also, they would have been thoroughly screwing the player if allowing all the party to die in 2, then base 3 on the party you ended 2 with...

I've played it on PC (no consoles), and nope, didn't seemed worse to me than ME2, ME3, AP's cover (which I ignored), GTA IV's cover (also ignored). And I am glad to say that's all the boring gameplay cover shooters I had the 'pleasure' to play...

And I bet you haven't seen the most of it. I wonder how many people actually have seen, say, Disciple/Atton or Visas/Handmaiden on Malachor. Anyway, thanks for the compliment, and stick around for the upgrade

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)
Hassat Hunter replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
They already have weird stuff ingame from releasing Oricon and raising gear by that... As in, comm vendors sell 69 for basic, 72 for elite, 78 for ultimate. The older rep vendors sell... 66 for basic, 69 for elite (the old system thus). They never got updated... and are completely and utterly useless now (not helped the worse gear is twice as expensive too. What?)- 505 replies

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VI (The Old Menace)

They are Bind on Pickup? That's... odd. Can't say I noticed, my main being artifice too Yeah, Quesh WB achievement is bugged (like many codex entries and achievements are). Has been for ages. I can't bother with WB's either. Most can be solo'd, but they're usually dead by some other 55, take 2 hours to respawn and are boring as hell. Not quite the motivationer. Add WB's to the list of things that could use tweaking. Actually, I probably could fill a small book on things I would change if I was in charge of TOR 0_o Haleluja. Another person who thinks like me. And here I thought I was unique. But yeah, the 50 for good looking, 10 for ugly looking is odd. Personally, since I group the leveling anyway, I wont bother with the cartel crystals at all. Too costly for little benefit. Meet MMO expansionpacks. They already redid the comms from planet per planet to the current system (a great improvement) but yeah, crafters have gotten the shaft. And the classic comms are indeed only useful for F2P who never subbed (or stupidly bought, like me ) to access RoHC. Since they remain at 50. For the rest, some additional money by getting gear, waiting 2 hours, then selling it. I even looked up what item gave the best money per classic comm ratio but I lost that note I pretty much train it for the achievements, and to have it around 450 when I do need it (like augments). Biochem gives useful stims for HM+ operations, but... that's about it.- 505 replies

And here I was thinking extra dialogue was often it's own reward. I guess not... if you can skip that boring extra dialogue with combat! -
Yeah, I find TOR's 25 questlimit low, imagine 5. Not to mention "abandonement" gives a whole whoop new level of gameplay design change. In order to re-get your quest all questgivers need to stay around (as they do in aforementioned MMO). Someone coming up, giving quest, then being deleted off the world? Unthinkable. What if he comes when you have 5 quests. What if you abandon and want it back? It would also change design in that shorter questbranches will be made (since can't hold a quest through all acts, could you?) and likely be more closely to the questgiver (since giving 5 quests for faraway areas would seriously hamper gameplay, so it'll turn 5 next door so you can finish them and get new quests). Such limitations put ACTUAL severe gameplay design changes on quest design. In the bad way (restrictive, repetitive, limitating). I wouldn't want to deal with those as developer, I wouldn't want to deal with those as gamer. I really only see negatives to a hardlimit, and as you can notice can easily sum up quite a few in a short hwile, and can see no postives. At all.

Aye, the "we planned all this" really took a gnaw when ME2 had... no plot. At all. It was just, characters quests. Side-quests. All of it. And most of them weren't even on your team in ME3, making you wonder... why all this effort? Collector's came, collector's vanished. Did they ever get mentioned in ME1? or ME3? Probably also why I dislike ME2 the most, the absolute lack of a plotline. Which you kinda want if you make an overachieving story. I think ME3 might have been better if it compeltely ignored ME2 and just went on with ME1's story, but I guess it was too popular to do so, and they want adding all the retconning and useless filler into the actual plot, weakening it. Also I would dread if people took this as "bad endings are bad, we always need happy go-goodie endings." That would be pretty bad. Not all stories need to end good. And there are plenty of stories which were weakened or even ruined by their feel-good endings. For all the bad The Walking Dead was, it's ending (you die) was pretty nicely done. No everybody lived happily ever after, that just wouldn't fit...

Hassat Hunter replied to Mr. Magniloquent's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Ehm... if you want to inspect the XP system of PoE... doing so by turning off the XP gains information doesn't exactly seem the way to achieve that. It sounds to me like inspecting the roleplaying by simply clicking random options and never reading. You won't get any of the information you need for a conclusion... -
Sadly, it got replaced by planet scanning. Which was a LOT worse (I actually liked the Mako). And then they had to introduce the Hammerhead, which was by far the worst few missions of ME2. I certainly will skip those if I ever replay it. It was so bad, give me back my MAKO dammit! It was like adding insult to injury... They obviously haven't learned the Malak lesson. *swoops down all health in 1 strike* Bastila; "He's too powerful, let me sacrifice myself" Me: *facepalm* ME3 devs: Best. Moment. Ever!!! I actually really liked ME3. Not as much as ME1, but way more than plotless ME2. It had issues, but the main plot was pretty good, dispair could be felt, important choices to be made. The earth leadup was awesome. Shame they had to ruin it in the end... I can't help but think the game would have been so much better if it all ended there on Earth. You're actually defeated (so no happy ending), the enemies have won, and all of that which they wished to portray happened. But noooooooooo, they had to add spacekid rather than a proper "you're screwed over, here are the results of your loss" (an awesome thing Game of Thrones had when loosing the bossfight, but here it would be just the generic ending, taking in account what you did in the past). I'm sure some people still would be dissapointed (as always seen with non-happy endings), but it wouldn't be as **** as the current way.

Spec Ops gameplay is not worse or better than any other cover-based shooter... which is to say, horrible. It shocks me how many people like ME2 combat over ME1... and I just shake my head and go "no". I find it's action much more fun than Me2's "cover, 1, shoot, cover, heal, 1 shoot, cover, heal, 1, shoot"... The worst thing of ME1 combat? Getting stuck in %@%#@# cover... The best cover-based shooting is ME1, GTA IV and Alpha Protocol. Why? Since they completely allows you to ignore cover altogether. That's the best cover gameplay (but yeah, I completed ME2, ME3 and Spec Ops besides the horrible system just for the story. If there was none, well, I wouldn't imagine doing a shooter like that for fun... cover-based gameplay can't die too soon if you ask me...)

Hassat Hunter replied to Mr. Magniloquent's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Ehm, that's hidden too. Or the entire point is moot. And yes, there is no problem, just a RP-option request. Features, not fixes. As for XP, I think resolutions give the same XP (whichever means to resolve them) however choices can mean several different resolutions. Quest A can give 500, opposing quest (which cannot be done with A) B gives 600. The meta-gamer will obviously go to B, but with this you simply don't know and choice based on which you want to do, or think your character will do. And the disrepency might be made up later along the line, or be because it's a longer quest, or have a 100XP bonus. Objective XP is good, but that doesn't mean all resolutions of quests should give them same reward (see also; Deus Ex, Vampire Bloodlines), albeit without the V:B stealthbonusses. -

Hassat Hunter replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
You can get the comms out, put them in legacy gear (widely available by now) and send them over. Sure, it's a bit more costly than just having the classics themselves bound to legacy, but not by much. Played yesterday with zbyl on Quesh. He Guardian, I smuggler. We cleared a base for him... then moved to my quest. Exact. Same. Base. Exactly. Talk about lazy design. They could atleast used another re-usable on a tiny planet like Quesh, no?- 505 replies

Should have used TSLRCM so Sion's entire face was on the shot, not just partial . Then again, you probably plucked that of the net XD Regarding the ongoing discussion; AAA games don't really need kickstarter to die a horrible death. Their graphics run, resulting raising cost, and resulting lack of innovation (since you can't risk new stuff since it's so expensive with modern day graphics) will be their own downfall eventually, kickstarter or no. And for me, it can't come soon enough...

I think some people miss the point, which is not that surprising really. It's not FOR meta-gamers. It's not MEANT to detract meta-gamers. It's just for those of us, that like to rollplay to completely take away *any and all* way for XP to sway our roleplaying ways by learning 'hey, I do it my way, but I get severly punished for it, I'm going to switch my ways'. Also, in a well-coded game, it shouldn't take too much effort to do, the "you've gained X XP" would be the same function each and everytime, so only a few lines there need to be added, along with the character overview. It's not like they type 'you've gained X XP" manually in each conversation and all those need to get checks for this kind of function... -
Holy moly 10 pages. Can't say I read all. In all this talk have people already considered PoE's difficulty mechanics? As in, enemies are actually replaced by a stronger versions of themselves on higher tiers. On kill XP this would be hell to balance, since tougher enemies give more XP (and if not have to be toned in all the game for all difficulties) making hard less hard. Giving a fixed XP amount? It actually allows such a perfect difficulty setting. Probably not, right? Anyway, continue on...

Update #70: New Year Project Update
Hassat Hunter replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Many of them which are on this forum. All of them should be even, since they require an OE-account for the backer portal. As for 'objecting being a minority' actually amongst the ones who responded in reply to J.E. Sawyer the majority wasn't positive about the idea, very few came out positive for it. Now this might trigger a 'still minority of backers to vote negative' reply, but it remains of the backers replying the majority is against it. Would it be too far-fedged that this would be the same share of proportians amongst all backers? It very well could be...- 491 replies

It is the 'minority' that helped raise the money to fund the game. Which makes them... well... pretty important, wouldn't you say? Especially if they want to fundraise another game this way...- 491 replies

Ah, another Objective XP discussion. And look, it's already desolving into a flamefest and namecalling. Also, the same "points" are pointed out again, like the mega-dungeon cannot possible reward more than once for all of it, everyone will run away or stealth if there's no XP carrot for killing, XP can only be given for quest resolution since what other objective could there be?, "killing will be ruined, you ruin IE games" and of course how it can't have tactical combat without giving XP per bloody enemy defeated. It's like a broken record out there. I think I've already had this conversation about 3 times. Look them up if you want. I probably will just continue on reading this facepalming from time to time. Since from what I learned so far, it's hard to pass through to the combat XP fanatics that combat can be meaningful, fun or anything more than a grind without each and every kill giving XP. If that's the only reason you play combat in IE-games, you can't possible say you like the combat in IE games.
