  1. Well, 'simply play the game' allows devs to see how far people generally got, so they're not entirely useless (combined with a 'start the game' achiev to weed out people who haven't even booted up the game, since I generally notice that's around 25% if not more). And yes, ingame (Mass Effect) can be annoying. Saint's Row III and IV it's a bit too, but atleast they give ingame rewards like credits and XP aside from being just total fluff, making them slightly more bearable.
  2. In good old tradition, some files were left out of the installer. The ones we've been able to identify (and one reported bug) have been added in the following "hotfix". http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/404-183-installer-missing-files/ We'll probably update the installer when able to, but no point having people wait that long (probably a month)... Content;
  3. And UE4 sprang from UE1. Doesn't mean it has any use whatsoever to have devs learn the UE1 stuff nowadays if they later need to work on UE4.
  4. I can't write his name proper... Found this funny... not to mention it was actually released before ME3 0_o
  5. ] Why do you want to work on the one market that's already flooded, dare I say, tsuanami'ed, and has such a small chance of succeeding anymore as a result? Nickel-and-dime to recoup losses, than pull the plug? Doesn't sound like a nice faith of hard work to me.
  6. World looks pretty, characters do now... and that sword... damn. :nope:
  7. OE caused Ukrain to sell their MMO. That's marketing! Who says Paradox does nothing for them?
  8. Why would you want to learn MMO's? That's about as useful as learning to make black and white silent animated movies in order to make a 1 1/2 Disney/Dreamworks movie. Or (to keep in RPG terms); Learning a few skills in magic for your melee close up barbarian, then learning he has no magic, or they can't scratch enemies at all...
  9. Since it's free... well, obviously one can easily check it out. But, like most MMO's... I forsee a short life-span and a waste in an already filled to the brink and 3x over it market... Why do we need 1 billion MMO's again?
  10. There's NOTHING from MMO's you WANT to put in regular RPG's. If you do, you murder your own product. I guess there's still the income, true.
  11. It's time for the fun game... let's bold all unthruths in the following post! That's a lot of bold text there! Ehm, http://eternity.obsidian.net/ GO, GO, GO!
  12. They can still work for BioWare marketign then... "THIS IS THE NEW ****!" - Dragon Age: Origins "We modified DA2's start, since most people stopped early on in the game" - DA2 Geez, guess it couldn't have been the marketing, and people buying something way different from what they expected? (Only game-example I could think of)
  13. True, but until that point the episode was just a snooze-fest... Opposite KOTOR2-syndrome.
  14. I am still waiting for my VIP rank Oh well, PE rank is good too Currently playing: Cthullu saves the world. Next up: Holy Avenger vs. Maidens of the Dead, which I noticed suddenly being in my Steam library. Seems a sequel to Grotesque Tactics, which I both got, so many that's why I got this title given? Should be a fun diversion for a few hours...
  15. I seriously doubt indies have the manpower to work on UE4 of CryEngine3(?) though. I wonder with all the new features, how much harder it becomes to make content, or if the first time ever (hah!) it becomes easier and takes less manpower/time?
  16. I say "meh"... but apparently the entire community is riled up about it. What's wrong with the ship? Why not allow us to swap/modify/upgrade that instead? You probably use it more than some home on some planet. Oh well, more wasted fluff than thought out stuff, just like the MMO-crowd likes it apparently, until they start complaining and wanting more. Atleast it has legacy guildbanks, only good it seems to do.
  17. I'm getting more and more annoyed with the icons being re-aligned out during sales if returning from a game page. *random thought as watching weekly sales + bitcomposer sales, looking at a few potential titles, and then having to re-check the entire list again since the order is absolute random* EDIT: And for the past week(?) it seems to randomly loose connection to internet too. Ugh...
  18. What's that PE Watcher badge? First I see it... post-KS backer?
  19. The episodes since the break was over have been boring as heck, I agree. They should bring the band back together, instead of take an entire episode for 2 people... which really drags on... Or maybe that's just me, have been having it longer than that that I fell asleep watching the series with my gf...
  20. Supreme Commander style? Also I am not quite sure what "pause on inventory" or the 60/120 arrow quivers have anything to do with control or the "fun" of IE games...
  21. I think all of us backers need to get around the table... *THAT* wasn't part of the deal. Imagine who we could hire for all that money rather than squander it on you...
  22. Even without auto-pause, micromanagement was easy. It didn't mean it allowed you to automatically win all the time since you still needed to keep your wits about, and some mages could seriously screw you over, but it was never because of a lack of control. That's one of the best things of IE, the control. Never would I imagine someone saying it was bad. It's about the best thing IE did. On how many search nodes did you put it? It can get pretty bad on lower settings for old machines, but more modern who could easily notch it up to 100k, no. And as said, if you notice a NPC going wrong, all it takes is space and move otherwise. I seriously doubt that. AI would defy the whole purpose of IE isometric. I barely fiddled with controls (especially first time I played it) and it's never been on for me, ever. Considering the first time I had no idea what D&D was, and was so horribly bad at the game, I had to use the equipment "export/import" cheats to survive the first map (and kept attacking the bears... what can I say, I was young and stupid)... still, no AI. I really can't imagine having a character be uncontrolled (especially a mage) unless you gave them the attack order and they just kept at it. I suppose, yup, this is the first time ever I learn there's AI for your party members in the IE-games, instead of total dominance over all your puppets. And how many IE-games have I played? All of them you say? This isn't about "playing different ways"... this is "playing a FPS using just your keyboard and ignoring the mouse" kind of different...
  23. I agree on the first line... now, I don't work for OE obviously, but; * No * To the extend of how many QA people they have able to put on PoE. * As QA gears up towards the end of development, it's a bit too early. Though I assume Paradox will have an efficient bug report system to give reports to OE fast as possible, with the subsequent return of fixed files for new testing. Of course it might loose the touch of personal contact you might have with inhouse, but how often does that really happen? (It's a real question, I don't know, but I assume not much. Although certain developers who are closer as a team like Obsidian it's probably more likely to happen.)
  24. If that's in, I suggest an option to turn it off. Mostly, since I noticed in all past RPG's I played just using actions when I wanted them allowed me overview, but having a queue forces active cycle between companions to see if I need to assign new tasks, since the UI can't give a quick overlook of such (and if it does it clutters a lot). Maybe they can prevent that this time around with the UI, but with 6 teammembers, I'm not that positive...
