That would be the hanger that stores the Basilisk (or what it was called); the dropship that brings you into the conquered Onderon. It is locked before all the Freedon Nadd temple and Onderon stuff but you can enter and loot after it...

I just turned on classic mode somewhere... my XP looks quite like 95/98/ME I used years years before XP

For the bounty hunters... it seems to be just a case of luck. In all my 3 plays I never had them showed up and I did several of the mentioned "Force them to appear" methods There is a fix for it on http://team-gizka.org/downloads.html which might work (didn't try that one out yet) though... For Redemption; once you got it; there is no way of getting rid of it...

They probably mean either 1) Mandalore's office (goodies) 2) The dock of the Basilisk (goodies) 3) The stash in the woods (the non-mission one; needs explosives from Dantooine) (goodies)

Alot of games have cut content that is supposed to be cut (Alternate ending Kotor1; Deadeye Duncan on Manaan to stay in KOTOR-style) still somewhere hidden...

Pretty sure DX:IW hadn't it. As for missing it... I wasn't. I rather have an effect than having to watch my hand "use" cutscene everytime I right click an item. Besides that it will need alot of variables because you might click it from short/far... hell in DX AND SS2 sometimes from behind a wall... animate that! . Also if you would be allowed to move during that using scene (which would be nice; preventing some serious backrape) that might do some funky things to your arm I think...

Yeah; definitely turn off one of the 2 cores (in the control center I think). Also note that the main menu of Kotor2 has smoke effects... and those are REALLY nasty in Kotor2. Adding the DisableVertexBuffers=1 line in swkotor2.ini might help a bit with this though...
