If you like Venice for a setting, you should have a look at Masquerada: Songs and Shadows. The world was inspired by Venice. I have another kind of game that I would love to play but problably never will. Urban Fantasy set in the real world, with dwarves, elves etc. living openly among us. Just like in a medieval fantasy world, but in our time. If you add some political intrigues , organized crime etc. now, I would buy it right away. Shadowrun? PS I'd kill for an Obsidian Shadowrun game

I need a drink I got a credit alert email so I logged on and saw that my credit score had dropped over 100 points. After digging around I saw my vet insurance credit card had reported me 30 days late which was a shock to me since I've only ever used it once and was just waiting on the reimbursement from the insurance company to pay it off as it was supposed to be a no interest and no payment for 6 months for charges at the vet. It's set up so you don't have to pay out of pocket for more than the deductible but now I wish I had just paid cash upfront. I need to call around on Monday and see what I can do about getting it fixed

Wow this has really gone off the rails I thought the issue was about if the law should allow for recouping expenses incurred beyond market value if someone else is responsible for injuries or death to your pets. I agree with that but I'm not so sure about pain and suffering. Anyway, I'll just see myself out

Pets aren't people I don't think anyone here has argued for personhood for pets. They are property but not the same as any type of inanimate property and not the same as livestock either. My argument is that pets should have a special category of property for things like this case especially since the business in question is arguing against the premise of it's own existence in a way if agrees that dogs have no worth beyond their market value, it's a luxury dog hotel... From their own website It will be interesting to see how/if it impacts their business Mind you, I grew up in the country and didn't live in a city until after I got out of the military (where we also had working dogs - whose handlers were also very attached to them). We cared about the wellbeing of all the animals even knowing full well we'd be killing, cleaning, and eating them later on but those animals were also not considered pets either PS I'm also open to the possibility that where I grew up may just be full of hippy farmersI like pets more than I like most people so I'm not exactly impartial here but I think that dogs and other household pets should have a special category with its own rules and conditions. They are more than just property to many people and just because they don't make money doesn't put them in the same category as whatever random object (and if you feel a pet had no more value than a shoe or a toaster you probably shouldn't have one). There are no TV cruelty laws. Also, as GD said already that the business in question is predicated on the notion that the pets are worth more to their owners than their replacement costsThe ones where the characters don't carry over to the next game pretty much end in SoD when they have to railroad it into the start of BG2 and their BG1 companions already continue on I'm more surprised that they allow you to romance Viconia since I don't think they are going to change her BG2 dialogue around for that to make senseI haven't really run into any issues but I dunno if it's just luck, patches, mods or the right combo of all three
