Resolve is also most important stat for dialogue so I wouldn't drop it below 16. On a barb you can have CO quite low since they have huge health anyway. As to the wolves I always sneak my way into the top left corner and open with a ranged attack. They can't attack you all at once often you are lucky enough that only one wolf at a time can hit you.

Retaliation lets EVERY class deal with mobs somehow, I used a cipher for example. The real interesting question is how to solo the dragon without petrify, I think if its possible paladin is the one to do it, due to being able to get max Reflex def. Chanter can ofc avoid tanking the dragon and kill without petrify too.

I'm not so sure that I'd call what he's done is cheating. After all those robes may look like robes, but they have the DR and recovery time of a suit of armor. He could wear robes with the weak stats for the look, or wear the armor for the stats. All he's doing is wearing robes that have the pros and cons of armor. Not seeing this as a significant cheat. Now, if those robes has 10 DR with the recovery time of robes, then you'd have a point. Read his post he didn't find them ingame.

The maximum is 3 per disposition, so in total 6. It's 4. Also for those bragging they have over 100 of a stat for Paladin, that's pretty much expected on Fighter too. It's nothing new or special. Having 100 def in Act 3 as the other guy "bragged", yes thats bad. Having 100 with a small shield and without a hatchet with Level 5 is quite good, with large shield and hatchet you can have it earlier ofc.

At Eothas you don't even have to fight the phantom if you want to be uber cheap. Just use your animat as fodder to block the phantom from reaching you, draw the oozes and the shadow to the room with the priests remains (east of the room with the phantom), kill oozes and shadow, loot everything, now you can sneak past the phantom since the room is way emptier than before.

You have a talent called cautious attacker or somesuch which gives +10 deflection and -20% speed. It's modal like wary defender, then you can grab superior deflection for extra +5. Won't help with Fort/Ref/Will though. Or you could bring a chanter singing a defensive chant all day long....or you could take a paladin with shielding flames for a +10 deflection for short periods. There are myriad ways to keep your Deflection up. Paladin is actually the best tank in the game in the respect to get highest Deflection, Fort/Ref/Will if you have him/her as your PC. With right dialogue choices you and one talent you can get a +13def and 26 to Fort/Ref/Will 13/27/27/27, actually. It bears noting that for a fighter who doesn't dump Int, Vigorous Defense + Wary Defender will raise your defenses above what a paladin can get with F&C + Cautious Attack. Paladin wins out in longer fights, which means it becomes hands-down better for solo play once it hits its stride. In party play, where fights rarely last the full duration of Vigorous Defense, a fighter has the edge. Thats not true the paladins deflection is higher, his other defenses are waaaay higher than the fighters. edit: Vigorous Defense doesn't matter it only lasts 20 seconds, there are plenty of fights longer than that even in a group. If you sole pretty much every fight lasts longer.

That means even as Darcozzi you are maxed out with level 7, I wouldn't consider that late. What I find interesting is the extremely high reflex def of the pala. With DEX only at 8 and haven't picked deep faith yet I've got 107 reflex with level 7. Def is at 115. So I guess by level 12 or even earlier I should reach 140+ reflex, which should enable me to block Adra Dragon breath.

My paladin has 100 def at the start of Act 2 and I don't think thats even optimized, since I use a small shield. Also you can easily have +23 on your saves start of Act 2... You can dump CO and IN too with the pala, but dumping CO isn't even necessary. This is for solo play, in a group you might want more IN, but you can still dump CO and DE...

@gkathellar Well, there's a talent/ability that makes it unimportant whether you picked a reputation which doesn't fit your order. @MadDemiurgI don't think constant recovery is that good if you have moon godlike anyway. LoH is definitely weaker than the shield I tested it out before I decided to go FoD. As to wary defender, can you have it active with cautious attack, since both are defensive modals? If not I don't see how the fighter is better, since the paladin has faith and conviction on top of cautious attack and superior defenses because of that.
