I don't think anybody is as enthusiastic about Darcozzi as me. ;P Even I have to admit I'm biased because I played one. Btw I'm level 12 now and not to sure what to pick. I wanted to take the reflex talent but not sure whether it's really worth it. With buffs I can reach 170 reflex but without it's less (without the reflex talent). But would for example picking a melee weapon talent help me against adra at all? I gather I'd have to use scrolls anyway?

Let's talk real early game. First map with wolves and Glanfarthans attacking the caravan. You can't rest here and your health goes down slowly. If you killed Calisca, like I did when you reach the last fight your hp are merely above your endurance. In the fights before as gdlk you didn't need to use LoH and if you don't have Flames you lost more hp in needing longer to kill. You get to that last fight and finally could use LoH but bam your health is, low. ;p Ofc you can rest later but the moral of the story remains you use flames all the time and fires are useful in the beginning, no contest. As to stats pushes, just wear an item with +2 for example bracers for might. Rest at an inn with +2 for example dyrford. Go to the dwarven whore upstairs in mast for might and con bonus. Finally before the fight eat ducs bedfloaf and voila. I have 17 might for almost every fight even though my base was 8.

I'm soloing with a paladin myself right now and needed way less cheese to get to level 9 than with my cipher who beat the game solo Potd. Figurines, even though they are not really cheesy aren't that important with the paladin for many reasons, main reasons: Better deflection and no need for an "ally" to cast spells on (Amplified wave or Ectoplasmic Echo anyone?) I even restarted a 2nd pala since the first one which I already had to 8 had only 8 DEX. Now my goal is to have enough reflex to withstand Adras breath. On level 9 I already got 140 reflex and I haven't picked the +10 talent nor deep faith yet, which gives another 5 reflex. Goal is to have at least 170 base reflex and buff reflex some more by temporary effects. Remember that sky dragon solo vid of the fighter not needing figurines, potions and pausing but still getting hit quite a bit? The pala will NOT get hit by that baby version of Adra at all. Even grazes will be very rare in melee and reflex. I really am starting to love sworn enemy since it lasts till a marked enemy goes down.Thats gonna be sooo good against dragons.

Actually I find that the larger factor of his difficulty isn't so much his abilities as the position from which you have to start the battle, with all your squishies upfront asking for a beating. You do realize that you can change the order in which your characters start out after transitions by re-arranging the order of their portraits, right? Just put your tanks first, and you're good. Have a very nice day. -fgalkin Maybe you should play the game and this particular battle, before making wise comments?

Fighters have meaningful CC and a taunt/pull skill. Paladin has broken or ineffective support skills that are so limited in scope next to a priest or chanter that its unnecessary. Specifically, Liberation doesn't really help versus things you want it too like Charm/Dominate and priests can provide an AoE version on demand since typically the enemy also gives out an AoE version. Reviving also kills your party member it was cast on without crazy high health/endurance. Long story short, the mix of broken/ineffective = bad class currently. As for the Outworn buckler, this further devolves the Paladin who has superior defenses and should try to play more offensively on the front line to even less DPS. They were never that great at it, but this just exasperates the generalist role they have. Fighters also have higher base accuracy that can be buffed on demand via priests. The Zealous Focus when not bugged has a tiny radius, so effectively, they can maybe give this to themselves and 2 others in a super tight melee formation. Realistically? its a self buff that doesn't stack with the priest one in hard fights. The buckler helps paladins dps because its a small shield (no accuracy malus) with deflection superior to medium shields. The aura stacks with other buffs as repeatedly stated, but resiliently denied...

Fighters are no less “boring“, what are you even talking about? People fanboy about fighters like crazy, yet they are slightly inferior to pala in deflection and vastly inferior in saves. Paladin passively boosts all group defenses by 5 and accuracy by 6, and has his suppskills on top. All that fighter has going for him is engagement and slightly higher deflection for the first few seconds of a fight.
