  1. This. Is my main issue with any kind of balance fixes even if they make sense (that first wave where every single item got nerfed? Nope that didn't make sense btw): It's nice to invest time for balance, but it never should be more important than blatant game breaking bugs. The giant cave grub unlimited swallow bug has been in the game in the very first version (it's not the only one but one of the most gamebreaking ones). Not fixing it with first patch was bad enough, but not fixing it in all patches after? But hey every single item got nerfed even the bad ones this had more priority and happened with the very first patch....
  2. Shame this doesn't actually work on either of these dragons, if you don't spawn them with console, I guess you could make it work on the Guardian if you kill all but one add, but BoW dragon doesn't even have adds and jump skills only hit once if there isn't at least one additional jump target.
  3. I've been using the helmet purchasable in Delver's row combined with burn injury from Sandswept ruins for quite a while. All my runs have been very low rest runs (rest once with Hylea's Bounty at the start of the game, get ingredients for Captain's banquet, rest with it and get all the per rest buffs that only go away on resting but otherwise permanent, get an injury use the 3 great wound items (immunity to interrupt, constitution afflictions and fire damage)
  4. Yeah, I only use the chant anyway. 3.4 seconds is a bit too quick tho, I was hoping to stack up at least two, since it rolls vs fortitude. It's crazy but I think evil turned away is quite unchallenged vs high fort/ar and even high reflex, since grazes don't lower the damage.
  5. Wait, I was not aware summoned skellies leave corpses, since enemy ones don't. That makes white worms very interesting.
  6. Oh I didn't know that, I tried it only in the first outside part of BoW and didn't even aim for bounces. Yeah Eld Nary is much better for primary damage source, but sometimes either enemy fort is too high or as in mentioned BoW area everything is immune to frost. Shouldn't the inside bouncing also apply damage more than twice if aimed perfectly? The fact that it seems to have fixed damage output makes this quite potent on solo PotD, where enemies have to high armor quite often and massive fort almost laways when it matters.
  7. Very interesting, makes the ability much better than it looks at first glance. About Eld Nary empowered, I guess I always empower early when there is alot of enemies around so it didn't jump more than once per target, but just hit additional enemies and I was mostly watching damage and accuracy per target. (which can be far over 200) Shame that Eld nary rolls against fort and isn't that useful solo. (debuffing fort is basically wasting resources if one char has to do it along doing damage and tanking, that's why I just use evil turned away if Eld Nary is less effective, sadly The heal doesn't work on the caster but only on non existing allies)(I only use the very small skellies from the PL 7 chant at the start of the round to proc hardy from Bardatto's mace and then switch over to healing, once I beat the dragon I will also use the skellies for the necklace might and res buff, but chanter/paladin does not need actual summons at all with double (triple with drug) heal over time.)
  8. Does anyone know how exactly this upgrade for the invocation: rejoice ... two fingers of daylight works? Was testing Sasha's with empower a little today on a Goldpact/Troub and for Beast of Winter the Tornado(Eld Nary) isn't very good, since it does mostly cold damage and also is pretty **** if there's less than 2 targets. Now when I fought the Messenger (haven't tried the dracolich yet, but it's mostly the same, just a lot tankier) and its Safeguard popped I noticed the damage for the invocation doesn't change even tho my pen was slightly lower than the burn armor (15 with PotD upscaling and my pen was 14.2 or smth). The damage roll is displayed in a quite weird way, you have to mouse over to even see the roll it looks quite like applying a dot, only that it only damages once per beam and is not a Dot at all. As far as I can tell it ignores AR, but maybe there is an explanation? Empower on invocations seems pretty weak btw (maybe intentionally because of Sashas) it seems to do at most 20% more damage and accuracy bonus is lower than 10.
  9. Tested this earlier and it stops at 4 stacks, which is still quite good, but no easy cap sadly.
  10. It should stack, but I find it hard to test. But keep in mind that 25%+15% doesn't equal 40% in that case.
  11. Max alchemy can be unexpectedly effective with whiteleaf, even after the destructive nerf:
  12. Mohora Tanga with harpponing enchant and max survival is the best weapon for that fight. Once the dragon gets bloodied her safeguard activates, to get rid of it you have to get lucky with charm of bones, summoning a risen mage. Or you just wait out the safeguard and don't use resources until it's gone (maybe even withdraw scroll). After that hopefully your resources will be more effective, since she loses 5 armor.
  13. Withdraw isn't that much more reliable than invis for combat ending, there is situations where neither will end, but at the end of the day they are quite similar.
  14. Do it on stream. All this talk how wizard is powerful and I get to see monks, paladins and rogues. As it happens to be, while wizards are powerful contrary to Baldur's Gate I do not like them in Deadfire, but at least you partially got your wish, while not naked, still playing wiz.
  15. I kid you not wizard could actually do it TCS. With reloads I think many pally combos will work, too. As far as I remember Harpa doesn't like wizards.
  16. Monk's weakened on crit is quite good. Cipher has a power that targets will and lowers fort, but that is much less potent, since many enemies with high fort also have high will.
  17. I found another forced rest: The random crew event, where they want you to toss money over board for Ondra, there's an option to take the time and lead the crew into a ceremony (Religion option) which will end in having to wait 5 hours and losing all rest bonuses. Also I see you haven't updated the info about Nature's resolve. I can confirm it's still in the game, since my last post I have gotten it on 2 different characters, I just made sure to go there early before I can randomly mess up a dialogue and get cruel and aggressive disposition.
  18. This is my last reply to you, since this is going nowhere: I presented complete information (I never said I was counting monks in combat values), but you assumed I didn't.
  19. You are not representing the full reason why the recovery time is so low. It's because monks offer a ton of action speed bonuses, and you don't point out what weapon you use. With the information you are giving me you could be comparing the action speed of a one handed dagger, with multiple self buffs plate user to a two handed Great Sword, no buffs, robe wearer. Sorry to burst your bubble but that value is outside of combat and has absolutely zilch to do with monk abilities. I hoped that would have been clear when I talked about how a fighter would get slightly better recovery. Any class with patinated plate, 18 base dex and abraham gets this attack speed. I'm using a flail with the monk shield (counts as dual wielding for speed bonus) but the weapon type would once again not change the recovery by more than 0.1 - 0.2s, diminishing returns are quite a big thing once you have high dex. (which you should have if you're that concerned about recovery.)
  20. Did you even read my post? Patinated Plate with any of the pets that reduce armor recovery like Cosmo or Abraham (there is at least 2 more) will have less than half a second more recovery than light armor, as long as your dex is decent. (which it should be if you're so worried about recovery) My current Solo Paladin/Monk has 0.3s attack and 1.6s recovery time with Patinated Plate, if it was a fighter it would be 0.2 less recovery, if I used light armor it would be 0.2s less. If it was a fighter wearing light armor it would only be 0.3s saved, this is called diminishing returns. With light armor there will be no enemy on upscaled PotD which has no pen and gets 75% damage penalty, with patinated and a tanky class like paladin there wil be a lot of enemies doing 2 damage per hit. This has nothing to do with tanks, but the pets having more favourable returns the heavier the armor and diminishing returns the lighter the armor. Do you consider the 0.3s attack and 1.6s recovery of my patinated plate wearing char slow? How much faster ar your chars wearing light armor?
  21. For anyone wondering about an item with arcane dampener. Charm of bones summons a random vessel. If you get a risen mage (it's pretty much guaranteed in 10 tries, often you get it as early as 1st or 2nd try) it will actually cast arcane cleanse which is even much more powerful than dampener.
  22. If you didn't rate items by something silly like S-Tier etc your lists might be informative for new players. So far I have not seen a list full of flaws in the rating, which would not matter if you didn't rate items you haven't even tested. I decided to post in the armour list, because here the rating is the worst by far. Not only are the best armours like patinated and blackened rated very low, the reasoning for your S-tier armours is very flawed for Deadfire, "highest dps". This game has as many people already posted, several pets, that not only reduce the recovery of armor, no the best part is, the heavier the armor, the stronger the pet effect. Gaining 0.2 seconds recovery between a heavy plate and a light armor is most likely the best result you will get if you ahve decent or even high dex. Sadly you forgot to mention that armor class is much more potent in Deadfire than it was in Poe 1, having no pen results in a 75%+ damage loss for the enemy. Moral of the story: Don't rate items you never tested. Let alone in a game you either don't fully understand the mechanics or don't care to explain them to the only people who might find your lists helpful: beginners.
