We don't even know if bugs disqualify for certain, "not in the spirit of the challenge" is actually quite vague. I forgot to ask Josh when he was in my stream the other day but if he ever comes there again I will ask for sure about the unintentional bugs. As to getting rid of the item buffs, can't you rest to lose them? Have you tried reequipping and unequipping again?

Max travel speed is 95. (with Voyager). Going to Crookspur is not a problem (did it on one of my Ultimate attempts the other day). There's less slaver ships than used to be and even if there was more as long as you're not carrying too much copper (I only sell as many items as I need to) surrendering is almost free and if you go into naval combat screen and immediately surrender you also get 1 xp for the crew.

A little update on the chanter btw: Invocation type self buffs like Their Champion braved the horde alone extended by SoT will, much like item effects, carry over after combat end. For those who missed the stream the other day: Totally against my expectations chants like Ancient memory and Old Siec can be extended by SoT too, so a chanter/priest can have ALL buff chants active at the same time.

The fear can actually be used to your advantage. The trick is to get her feared far away from the enemies "spawn point" - the point they return to when they lose sight of you. Most effective way to achieve this is to cc her where you want her lead the enemies to her and then away from her again. You might have to withdraw her, but here comes the positive about her fear effect, you never need to withdraw her more than once, so non priest classes without an actual withdraw are also fine with using scrolls, since you don't need more than one per fight as long as you fight out of line of sight of Vela her fear will stop her from following you. (if she's behind a door you can even close it on her, usually she would open it like the spoiled brat she is, but not in her fear) The reason why I personally think priest is the strongest multiclass option for not only this challenge but in general is the combo of brilliant (shroud of likeness) and Salvation of Time. A singleclass like Monk MIGHT still be better offensive (especially if you count prebuffing time to the time an actual fight takes) but the SoT abuse is really strong for the dlcs since Brilliant, Blade Cascade, Conduit and ANY item effects prolonged by SoT will carry over after combat ends as long as the duration doesn't run out, so a monk will definitely need to be a lot more careful in the dlcs compared to priest multiclasses. Also keep in mind while a priest mc might take forever to get brilliant before a boss fight, there is no real risk involved in that so it doesn't actually matter if the fight takes longer overall, killing the actual boss with blade cascade and Conduit will never take more than 2 minutes.

Hm, apparently you can change the name they will display on the board: "if you submit a successful run with a character name we don't like (our discretion, zero guidelines or explanations given), we'll ask you to change it. if you're surly or uncooperative about it, we'll disqualify you." Either way if I get disqualed for something silly like that I don't really care. That being said I somewhat doubt this will be a sucess on first try, next char will get a "more appropriate" name, thanks for bringing this to attention.

I'm going with Bloodmage/Skaen. Decided to not risk brilliant bug ending up not in the spirit of the challenge, also don't really like how brilliant from tactician and cloak don't interact well with each other. (Getting both will end up amking the 2nd one you get being useless, say you are out of enemy sight and have brilliant tactician and somehow trigger brilliant cloak (could also happen in combat against encounters that can easily be flanked) the brilliant buff from cloak will actually not recover resources, so if you lose brilliant tactician even tho you have mind over matter you won't regen resources) Also I found out that casting most non damaging spells (and also flame wall for some reason) from invis (including phantoms) will not disable invis, this makes getting brilliant less important, once you have Arkemyr's invis spell (tbf you need to kill Concelhaut for this and will also have the cloak) you could do things like invis, flame wall, the enemies get attracted to the wall and even stand on it searching for you, then any CC (pull is really good for this) do some damage to them, freezing pillar is really good for this, go back to stealth use blood sacrifice get your spells back. This might seem to tedious, but keep in mind wall of draining can be used from invis too and Arkemyr's invis can be prolonged by both BS and SOT (unlike Shadowing Beyond), so you could invis bdd, draining wall, now casting blood sacrifice won't kill you and you can also unstealth and attack the enemies for real, while taking damage from them you might end up getting the brilliant anyway.

No Scordeo's Tropy is a multiplicative bonus and gets weaker everytime you apply it. (You probably need way over 100 stacks to get it to -100% or it might also be impossible, I'm not the best mathematician but it should be impossible to get it to 100%, but even getting it to 99ish will take forever). The good thing about Scordeo's Trophy tho is you can get it much earlier than the saber.

Beetle Shell is friendly so it works on her (only allied and foe doesn't work, target and friendly do). I don't think enemies will lose interest (haven't tested it tho) but it might still be enough in combination with Brilliant and bursting whoever is attacking her, main problem would probably be fights like Doru and Spider with Big Aoes that don't need to directly target her. Confused might be worth checking out for Stasis Shell, isn't there also a barbarian subclass with perma confuse? (Tactician would be better ofc because brilliant) Mind control could help problem will again be fights with repeated big Aoes. (Doru is even Mind affliction immune) Don't think there's a way to cast self cast spells.

Skaen without Brilliant is not much more than a class without withdraw because of Woedica's challenge ;). Also how are you guys using melee abilities with hand mortar? It doesn't work in my game at least for Power Strike and Mule kick. (didn't try Clear out since it specifically says Melee weapon but maybe the irony is that one works?)
