Totally depends on the class. What I don't quite understand tho is: But back to classes, my first try was with a fighter/chanter and I had to trihard with explosives to kill it. Now I have a monk/pala and even the last dragon is an absolute joke. Most classes will ahve an even harder time than pala/fighter, since this is actually a decent combo.

Really Priest/Cipher in general in godawful. Didn't they fix that in the last patch? I'm not saying it's good now, to be clear. But IIRC you're no longer locked out of your rogue illusion powers. I leveled a priest/cipher to 20 solo potd and I don't think the combo in particular is bad. Cipher is just very limited in a game with a lot of charm resistant/immune enemies and some others with giant willsaves it often gets reduced to attacking instead of using powers, which makes it a lot worse than it could be. A priest can actually help out the weapon part of a cipher a lot and ofc the priest has a lot more spells that target reflex...

Just double-tripple the damage of poisons and scrolls, same for durations of potions and drugs, and give full heal from minor healing potions. They do nothing, really. They are not FUBAR anymore, that's true, but are "easy mode" still. Spirit Shield gives 3 AR btw. =P Scrolls don't get anything from leveling Arcana, are you sure we're playing the same patch? Triple damage of poisons is pitiful, yes they didn't need to be even close at what they used to be, but grenades are much better than poisons and Aoe. Oh ok 3 AR, may main point was it doesn't scale at all.

Both Alchemy and Arcana got hugely nerfed and almost do nothing anymore. Alchemy only applies scaling to poisons, but not even close to what it used to be, all potions and drugs seem unchanged except for maybe the duration, a spirit shield with 0 Alchemy will give 2 AR and with 30 Alchemy it will still give the same etc. Arcana only seems to be a requirement to use a scroll now, any scaling got removed.

If you play Potd upscaled Mohora tanga turns out to be the better high level spear than Kahua Hozi, since maxing Survival will give you a juicy pen bonus of 6 (18 pen legendary without class bonuses like Devoted). It is still required to either wield Kahua hozi in offhand or in the 2nd weapon slot for pierce immune enemies, but tbh I haven't come across any of those lately, maybe some kind of blight...

So when the game came out I thought the new Brisk Recitation is far weaker than it was in Poe 1, since removed linger means butchered Dragon chant. I tried dragon thrashed without BR since there was hope for it with 50% linger from Troubadour passive, but it turned out to be mediocre. For BoW I started my first troubadour since 1.0 and used BR jsut for the quicker phrases, but I felt like Soft winds damage looked weirdly high and mousing over the enemy showed a normal linger unlike mousing over my chanter where it only ever tried to linger, to start anew again and again due to BR's removed linger. Today I picked up Dragon slash and not only does it linger normally, but stacking is actually very reliable even on a far from maxed char (lvl 14) with only base Int of 20 and no Int buffs at all. Getting Int towards the cap should get at least 3 reliable stacks and 4 if crit reliably. The damage is still lower than in Poe 1 and the pen with 8 (12.5 on crit) isn't amazing, but there are ways to build around that and a dragon chanter could actually be viable in Deadfire. (Sorry if this got posted before, I couldn't find it)

The level requirement of the quest is no indicator for the first fight (which seems unavoidable as far as I can tell). I created a new char and at first the quest had 3 skulls. I then leveled up to at least two levels above what was show in the quest, but almost immediately after entering the new island got attacked by a creature with 3 red skulls and unlimited spells.

In Poe 1 Wild Leech did not stack, if it stacks in Deadfire it's not that bad tbh. It did stack in PoE - you just had to cast it on different enemies and then could stack it on your side as high as it can get. I managed to get +50 MIG once. It does not stack in Deadfire. Hm, I remember specifically trying it, but maybe I did cast it on the same target. (I somehow doubt that but it's been a long while) What I meant by stacking in Deadfire was related to your previous post about having different inspirations at the same time.

Not only does Phantom Foes have a much bigger aoe, but it also targets Will defence (Eyestrike - Fort), which is typically much easier to debuff for a cipher - and beat. That said, I can't fit it in my current build. My current devoted/ascendant has 111 accuracy without ANY (temporary) buffs for eyestrike. With drug, disciplined strikes and borrowed Instinct it's 141 and there is still secret horrors which goes against will and debuffs fort. (I never use it tho, since eyestrike only costs 10 focus it isn't the biggest deal to recast it if it shgould happen to miss)
