Well, you know my opinion from our conversation on youtube. I don't like putting points in res, my current chanter has 3 base res but because of a lot of passive buffs still a 17. I would personally put in perception instead, her revenge swept ... is one of the most op skills in the entire game, while summons are situationally awesome but not something you can amke use of every fight.

The problem with potion (and bdd) they are combat only, at first I thought that makes it only tedious, but I just realized you can't even switch Deltro's in combat. For the initial shock damage Essence Interrupter only works if it doesn't kill, my level 1 toons got instantly destroyed by it, haha. Initial shock can be done via scrolls tho, no need to do it with the hired help, a main char with maxed arcana applies an insane lash. I haven't tried Dampener yet, I will tho because I feel like it has some hidden potential (might be wrong), Arcane cleanse works, but it "only" removes 1000 sec so my main char who has insane duration due to deltro having been one of the first things i "stranded"wouldn't even lose his buff after thousands of casts xD (in fact I think duration gets fixed at some point. I also tried resting, but my mistake was to apply 28800 secs of duration (8 hours) but a rest only takes off less than 1k hours. IF the time a rest takes off is consistent however (which is at least somewhat doubtful, deadfire seems to have problems with all 4 digit numbers and up) then the best way to do this loop would be to remove the injuries with resting, just prolong deltros enough so it lasts thru the rest and not much longer.

Yeah, tbf I overdid the lash quite a bit and in a real playthrough would never go that far for lack of resources. You'd definitely use sawbones and adra potions before starting to sacrifice hirelings, because you have to create them anew every time (I tried export but once a hireling is dead "recruit" gets greyed out), that's another reason why I only took level 1 hirelings. Getting to a realistic lash is really fast tho, 700% took almost no resources and is already insanely op if you use it with stuff like freezing pillar or chanter invocations.

@BoeroerThis is slightly embarassing, but years later I realized I set up my chants wrong with that party. The proper way to stack several chants is to set up multiple ones in the edit screen (duh lol), but for some reason abck then I only set up one per chanter. The funny thing is most of the game was still a giant breeze, because of stacking dragon trashed 6x, Adra dragon which is FIRE IMMUNE died in smth silly like 40 seconds. I did however have a little trouble with bog dragons back then even tho I ultimately ended up killing them. When years later I started up Poe again, I also looked at my old chanter save and immediately found my mistake. I changed all my chants to 6x dragon slashed in a row and even had a save before bog dragons and voila, now they also melted in seconds.

My guess is the game can't tell how much focus you have, once there is four digits. You can't spend all focus at once, you do less damage than you should in one hit, but WAY more than you should in 3 hits (I did smth like 19k with 9.6k focus lol) There seems to be no limit to how much dmg you can do in one hit, or at least not as long as it stays four digit.

Hm, maybe it just seemed that way to me, and they were close enough to be hit by it, idk they def didn't attack me in melee. Come to think of it, maybe they just died to smth else than retaliation, 90% of the time ciphers are squishy enough to die to initial HoF, so if one somehow survives they are on 1 hp.

I played pretty far with a barbt he other day, when I tried out your leech build and in most fights it's not an issue if you know it is coming (most ciphers have original names like "xy cipher"). I had a couple retaliation items and also targeted the ciphers from stealth with leap + Hof. At the end of the day at least if you play solo a lot, it is the same principle as tagreting adragan or similar first. because otherwise they will eventually disable you. With Carnage triggering from retaliation and the initial HoF with duration steal buffing your durations like crazy (the base 1 or 2 sec duration from Carnage 25% damage boost, sometimes goes up to 20+ for me) IF a cipher survives the initia HoF the melees will rush you and usually the ciphers just die to retaliation. That being said I didn't make it to WM2 with the barb, yet.

Psychic Backlash wasn't always broken. According to it's description it still isn't (But they broke it when they buffed it, don't even remember what the buff was, but ever since thenm it's unlimited procs instead of 1x per encounter, which is nice for a dragonslaying cipher pc and less nice for a pc that utilizes a will aura)

Oh didn't know that, but in my route Hasongo is earlier than Arkemyr: Ironchadswept ruins, Deadlight, Dunnage, Hasongo, Crookspur, Theanic and then Fire drake. Tbf Ranger/Soulblade might not be ultimate viable if reflect on monsters is out of combat, which doesn't seem to be the case from the buffbar, but then again prowling is also out of combat... (knocking down animal companion is also easy access to shadow form, so you can just bop anyone with soul annihilation from stealth, needs more starting focus then tho, which increases by 3 or so per 10 max focus) edit: hm against the dragons pre Ukaizo it shouldn't matter if one kills themselves with reflect, because combat will end and you will get up with injury, but I suppose Ukaizo would still phase, but is it even a beast? Should be a vessel right...

Whenever I took a break from my Ultimate run (level 15 halfway to 16 now) I tested around stuff with Soul Blade on a normal save. My first approach was just to go soulblade/priest and kill enemies, but it's pretty obnoxious, since after every fight you have to use strand. One Solution is to let fire dragon spawn infinite ads, as long as you are in the fight strand isn't necessary because of SoT. However the oozes are rather tanky and without scordeo's (which isn't obtainable before killing the dragon) every single kill just takes a long time. Belranga would work, but the more small spiders you kill, the more damage she gets and once she oneshots small spiders with her friendly fire this is almost as slow as killing oozes. With a party this is easier cuz you can get a chanter to summon skellies for you, however even tho grave calling chill fog counts as weapon ability and procs itself, a confused soulblade will not trigger their on kill passive with this as its not melee weapon kill and killing them with single hits isn't the greatest, cuz no AI auto targeting. During all the testing I did find a way to get massive focus started very early even solo, however. Going Soulblade/ranger and downing your own pet hilariously enough procs the passive, you have to use necklace every 50 secs or so, but not too many times, because eventually the duration of your first uses will add up. I would probably never do this for the Ultimate, but the effect is quite strong, my highest focus I rolled for was 11k, which does about 8.3k raw damage and for some reason only depletes your focus to 9k which will also hit for 8.3k. This showed me how tanky upscaled doru really is, because he was only hurt after first hit, died to the second one, no idea how much focus you'd need to down him in one hit, since apparently it doesn't consume all focus at once. (18k or so would probably be relatively safe) edit: oh and btw, while oneshotting Doru is unpractical and unneccessary, one cool side efefct this ahs, the starting focus will also be over 2k at every fight lmao (and you can get this as early as Hasongo)
