After not having touched my Ultimate for over 3 months due to personal issues, I finally revisited it today and lost it in a very unexpected manner. I wanted to have an Avenging Storm scroll for water dragon fight, but didn't have wind essence (or whatever it's called :P), and the Scrooge in me let me go in Watershapers Guild first to avoid having to buy it in shops, because there are Storm Blights in there and quite a few of them. Ofc I didn't get any, never lucky, and decided to be 100% sure for Nery fight, even tho Avenging Storm is not needed whatsoever and go out and buy either an essence or a scroll, whatever the shops have. Unfortunately on my way out I talked to the Guildmaster, since i recovered her staff, which triggered the next step of the quest, and when I exited the watershaper's guild the dragon escaped and berath said hi immediately.

I'm honestly very confused about what point you are trying to make. I replied to a comment about going to Dunnage first and then going back to Sandswept, saying that isn't necessary and you can get all the traps giving xp by just respeccing in maje. The comment you replied to never claimed anyone should go to Sandswept, it was just to clarify you can easily go to Sandswept right after maje, never said you have to go there at all. Also the poster I replied to never asked about Eothas/Ultimate in the first place, so unless I'm totally missing the point here this entire "discussion" just doesn't have a point.

Depends on the class. In my Ultimate run I went to Fire Dragon after Hasongo and reached level 16 in Neketaka without doing any fighting. If you play a class that can cheese the fire dragon that's by far the fastest route with least ingame days spent. That being said the question wasn't even about Eothas challenge here.

Wow all these years and I always thought paralyze was a mind affliction because in PoE 1 it mainly targeted will, lol. That being said why do you think Grave Calling isn't exactly the same as reforge the flesh? Have you tested it putting dex immune slippers on a companion and then crit them with Grave Calling? I'll do that a bit later... edit: just tested it and you are 100% correct, Dex immunity prevents "frozen.

You keep referring to "freeze" which really confuses me, there is no affliction/condition called freeze in poe, the only thing Grave Calling has is a freezing lash, which does freeze damage. The upgrade straight up states it's a paralyze: Grave Bound When Frosted Edge has 10 stacks, Paralyze target for 3.0 sec on Crit

It's not what he's resistant to, he is straight up immune to Mind afflictions. But as you said from the Rakhan field boots example unique item effects often, if not always are coded differently. Try being immune to the paralyze from https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Reforge_the_Flesh There is boots for immunity and also some abilites from classes, nothing will work. (except the good ole save and reload cheese ofc :P)

Personally I'm not a big fan of the day/night thing with Sun and Moon and would choose Sungrazer. How often the Aoe procs happen totally depends what skills you are using, if you use big Aoe skills that hit many enemies a 5% proc chance isn't super low, if you use single target then 5% is obviously VERY low.

Tbf a bloodmage/soulblade can replicate the "infinite" focus and all other crazy extended buffs without using SOF at all. They just don't get Shared Nightmare so the AOE would not be possible as multiclass. If you're willing to use a party you CAN replicate this to an extend, but it would be very artificial if you wanted to get it to the same size AoE. Basically having a priest cast SoT on a SC Soulblade who kills little spiders in Belranga fight in melee (rod in 2nd weapon set) and ignoring Belranga.... But that would be really artificial and take quite a long time, aaaaaaaaand if you're not willing to use Strand after the fight you will lose all your juicy focus. I was doing my best impersonation of https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Grog When I wrote that.

SC can also use Potion of final stand. Keep in mind that if you used only a level 7 spell WoD will restore that spell guaranteed, so 3 sec CD is not a problem. Against Dorudugan you'd have to swallow the bitter apple of having to presummon 3 hostile fire blights with a combo of wearing Magran's chosen belt and hitting yourself with Concelhauts Draining missiles (which is only a level 2 spell so brilliant from SOF has you covered. It would potentially be possible even without SOF, but you are already limiting yourself by playing a mod that heavily nerfs the class you want to play.
