New info about DLC 2
house2fly replied to Daled's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I was expecting October anyway- BOW slipped from July into August, the only reason SSS wouldn't do the same is if they were rushing it. That suggests the third DLC will be out in early December, in time to get the whole package in a Christmas sale Speaking of DLC2 info, this is just based on a quick glance at the text files but it's looking like there might be some reactivity between DLCs... very cool if so -
They don't, Trump is the default avatar. It costs $10 to have any other avatar (or no avatar) so a lot of people don't bother

New info about DLC 2

I'd like an Eternity Soulslike. The setting gives a great setup for being trapped in an ancient Engwithan city full of ghosts and beasts -
We want less exposition, not more! What the soul cycle was like before the Wheel isn't really important, clearly something was going on and we can speculate about what it was on forums, but what's important is that the Engwithans took it over and breaking the Wheel won't put things back the way they were, which is mentioned in the game. That said I wouldn't mind more characters in-game speculating about it, like conversations with party members and whatnot, because it feels like something characters in the setting would realistically be talking about

made me chuckle a bit. I'm not even sure it's meant to be anti-gay. Ach whatever... If they only listened to me and AndreaColombo and whomnot and omitted those awkward romances. Those are always weird in RPGs. Like in real life... but unpleasently weird. it's very generous to rpgcodex to suggest that line in the review is just being facetious without any other intent. Their thread on Deadfire is thick with people lamenting that Obsidian has been taken over by dyed-hair SJWs who want to push pro-gay agendas onto people's children. You know, children, the audience of this M-rated game

It's still unbelievable to me that for a month now the game has had a bug where you can't fight the end boss. Yeah if there's anyone who can work on fixing bugs right now it would be insane to have them doing anything else. Maybe have a guy take a day to double the damage of higher level enemy attacks and add some new abilities for them to use

People want the “big box” to put on their game shelf next to their old Infinity Engine games (in similar packaging). See: mattchat No. I just wanted the statue. They should have offered a tier without the wasted chromecase that has no game in it, but still included a statue. I feel like I overpaid for a plastic statue and a guidebook. You didn't "pay" for anything. You backed a project and received a reward commensurate with your support. That's how crowdfunding works.people really do seem to get the wrong end of the stick with these things. Like that one person in some thread who heard you get a plushie if you back at $500 and said "for $500 it better be made of solid gold" or something. Like the plushie doesn't cost $500, the idea is that they're putting at least some of the money(all of it if you're a digital backer) into making the actual game

I hope it isn't quite "the same kind of feel" as Fort Deadlight, which is to say I hope all the various ways to complete the quest actually work -

It's encouraging, he seems excited about them. Good sign in a project leader -
Hosongo POE1 Talents

One does evil because one values one's personal gain over the wellbeing of others. One does good because one values the opposite. Rewarding good deeds is bad roleplaying imo -
I like the idea of sidekicks but I stand by my opinion that they should make the best use of what they have to give the sidekicks as much presence in the game as possible. Maybe a dialogue tree and ending slides is overdoing it but they could still have gotten more impact from each companion without needing "hundred" of lines. If there's only budget for six lines of dialogue after the starting conversation then I'd propose something like: One line in the final conversation and one in the bit before that where you talk to your companions. One line at Ashen Maw. One line at Hasongo. One line each in any two side quests. The sidekicks not speaking up much is not a big deal, but it should feel like they have some kind of presence in the significant events of the critical path
