  1. Hi all, Added a link to the German translation mod in the Nexus to the OP and to the Pinned Thread. http://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity/mods/6/?
  2. What would be the solution? E.g. Make traps and secrets visible without stealth: in that case, why even bother having them? Traps would have to be detected much more quickly than now, otherwise people running at normal speed (or on double) will run over traps they find all the time, leading to complaints. You could add autopause on trap detection, but then there would again be only one 'right way' to play, which is with that autopause on (or it's back to stealthing anyway). Similarly, what's the point of secrets being secrets if all you have to do is dump some points into mechanics (which everyone does anyway) and then they just pop up? You might as well not have any secrets then.
  3. We don't need 18 threads for the same thing, despite what some of you seem to believe.
  4. Because 4 million is a tiny budget compared to most games and it's hard to have multiplayer, modding, and everything else people want? I'm hearing that modding isn't the easiest in the world but it's very possible. Hopefully as time passes devs will be able to offer information / tips to facilitate.
  5. Oh, there isn't a line. But if you're wasting 5 minutes running back to town frequently and you're getting bored by it, it's probably the game's way of saying, "you're resting too much".
  6. An old school, large size expansion pack, not DLC, has already been confirmed as part of KS goals.
  7. I had WL2 on Steam and I remember several big patches (though, in cases, the changes themselves were significant), and I had heard the Unity argument. Perhaps that was wrong and it was just Steam?
  8. And Unity, too. Wasteland 2 regularly had to provide multi-gigabyte patches when the actual changes were much smaller.
  9. When we closed the limerick thread, that was not an invitation to open new ones, guys. When and if we feel we can reopen it without everybody insulting each other, we will do it. After all, as someone has posted here: "I keep promising myself to avoid this debacle, but I still get myself going in."
  10. I don't have time to give a long answer right now, but: (2) They are flavour. You don't have to read all unless you want to.
  11. That's a super, super unlikely problem. Like in most RPGs, you've got plenty of cash to spare by the time you hit later stages of the game. In general, the keep does seem rather threadbare. NWN2's keep invasion was great. If not for KS goals, I'd have preferred them to not do a stronghold at all this time, and just do a good one in the expansion or sequel.
  12. I'll let this one be since we've already got several posts, but guys, let's try and keep it in one thread. Whether with Limericks or any other issue, having so many duplicates will just make the forum even more of a mess to navigate. 13. As someone already said: well that went to **** pretty quickly. Considering that the two positions in this issue are both about the kind of rights people have and how those rights should be respected, wouldn't it be ironic if this thread hosted plenty of personal attacks flung in all directions? As Cant said: walk the dog. Make a sandwich. Don't get apoplectic. We hate to close threads and want to let you guys discuss whatever you want, but we do need to make sure it doesn't become one of those things where everyone's outstayed each other's welcome and all that's left is frustration and bad memories. As usual, we will try to stay hands off. But if you find your post missing, that's a sign that you're getting far too heated up and maybe too focused on calling other people various unsavoury things.
  14. Yep And that's how you make people happy. Clearly, releasing patches is also a recipe for criticism. The way Unity games are often built, just to change a few minor things you need to replace a lot of files. That's why every Wasteland 2 patch was a multi-giga download, for example, even when the changes they made could have been done in a 50mb patch in a different system.
  15. My most played games are RPG so you are wrong. Like i said to another person, this ARE PROBLEMS NOT FEATURES. I didn't say RPGs aren't up your alley. I said this kind of game isn't up your alley. I mean, if Obsidian said "OK we have to change the game to fix everything Zherot said", they'd have to make a pretty different game, right? They'd have to rebalance basically the entire thing, too. I think that's a pretty good indication that this game, at least, isn't up your alley.
  16. Sounds like this kind of game isn't up your alley, yes.
  17. They are on the whole a bit smaller than BG1/2, yes, though it can feel even smaller if you run around on double speed or whatnot. This game was comparatively made on much smaller resources than BG2 (which was still an extraordinary effort unmatched to this day), and this is one place where it shows.
  18. Patch notes were out yesterday. See it, and talk more about the patch, here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/74879-patch-notes-for-103/ Edit: I'm an idiot. Is it a second patch? Well, opened until we confirm!
  19. Protip: Don't make a new thread when you have an existing thread that talks about- oh, right. You made that thread too. I see. I'm sure you agree with me that this thread has no value. Talk here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/75154-nerfing-youve-got-to-be-kidding-me-get-real-devs/
  20. Whoa, okay. When did you guys start another thread on this? And how did it get to 20 pages while I was out having dinner? Look, we're fine with you guys talking about this, or whatever you want to talk about (as long as it's not, I don't know, endorsing piracy). But like with everything else, you don't need to start a new thread every time you think you have something so important to say that you need a new thread, instead of posting like everybody else. 21. Hold wall is a weapon you find early in act 2 and remains superlative for most of the remainung game time, better in every way than most firearms. It needed the nerf, though we will see if its too muxh.
