  1. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/94528-spell-takes-forever-to-cast/page-1 Here's the thread on cast time. They are definitely aware it's an issue.
  2. I didn't even realize that was a bug, but now that I think about it, it probably is. I have also experienced this in all of my playthroughs.
  3. Yeah I would really like more spells for lower level spells. Casters just feel so weak rn, particularly with things like missiles being resisted to hell due to not penetrating armor. Really need more casts to be worth it.
  4. Maybe it can have a setting where you automatically switch to the most effective weapon against your current opponent (instantly?)? Or maybe a per-combat, instant cast ability that lets you switch weapons instantly for a short period of time--something that creates a really unique playstyle.
  5. The extra enemies don't really impact the fight if you pull the titan off to the left. Makes the fight QUITE easy. They are just standing at their spawn when you go back. Really, it's important to consider location regarding any challenging fight. It completely changes the game.
  6. My comments on the multiclasses I have tried playing through on potd. unbroken/barbarian - strong, reliable like you would expect. You really don't notice the downsides. troubador/barbarian - fun, though a bit squishy on the front lines due to needing pretty high int. They have nice utility. soul blade/barbarian - great damage dealer with soul annihilation. very simple to use. not horrible at soaking damage, though you do have to watch them. unbroken/goldpact knight - very potent tank, reliable at holding down a doorway, and provides a little bit of utility. easy to use. troubador/evoker - Fun class combo, though it really hurts not having access to kalakoth's minor blights. Very useful utility class combo. Honestly I didn't find that it did very much damage because the number of spell casts was too low and enemies often avoided taking any damage from spells like fireball. However they are great for interrupting enemy spellcasters and other useful things like the chanter invocation that relieves dex afflictions. Not a front line fighter by any means. helwalker/barbarian - too squishy for the front lines in potd it seems. it felt like more glass than cannon in my playthrough.
  7. Goldpact are pretty nice for paladin subclass when multiclassing. You can do a low int build since you won't have auras, and this really helps you attain high other stats. Obviously this doesn't work for chanter multi, but for fighter it's great. They are also the tankiest paladin subclass due to gilded enmity, which lasts a really long time btw.
  8. Totally agree, and I think there should be some mode where you say you are going to be completionist, and content scales accordingly. One reason stuff becomes so easy is because it isn't scaled to accommodate for the xp from all the side content.
  9. Oh I definitely second the idea of a loot filtering system where you can mark certain items as trash to be sold. and not see them in inventory until selling at a vendor.
  10. You can free the babies or kill the broodmother. Those are the 2 options for finishing the quest. The quest is hard to finish immediately because it is higher level. You are supposed to do the adra pillar quest (also has multiple ways to complete it) and gain a level before doing the broodmother quest. I hope that makes things less frustrating.
  11. Oh that is a great idea. Maybe they could show the spells from each grimoire in divergent colors or something so you would know you have to switch as well.
  12. Having injuries be really brutal incentivises me to focus hard to finish fights without getting any injuries, which is enjoyable. Those times when I do get injuries, it doesn't feel like it's too often that I end up rest spamming. Generally when someone gets an injury, several get injured and it would make sense to rest. Then again, my idea of fun is a game that really punishes you so you feel the maximum sense of accomplishment as you progress.
  13. Ok, I went back to reproduce the issue myself. This time I see her attacking with the spell icon above her head and on the portrait. I recorded a video of it on fraps and put a link in dropbox. You see her cast at around 1:07. https://dropbox.com/s/medxx9zg6pp6uty/PillarsOfEternity2%202017-11-30%2017-57-49-45.avi?dl=0
  14. I'm not actually completely sure if this is a bug or not (maybe some spell the spiders use I'm not aware of?), but certain times when I've been fighting the spiders on level 2, the mercenary wizard has been unable to cast spells. She just stands there with the spell icon over her and does nothing. I've had this happen with Chill Fog and Ignite Wounds. In this situation, I can tell her to use her regular attack and she will start attacking totally fine. I don't get a message saying she lost the spell either when I do it, but she does lose the use. Other details: I'm playing on steam, my playthrough is set to potd, and Mercenary Wizard has had the Kalakoth's Minor Blights buff on her in these scenarios (cast in the beginning of combat). I have been able to successfully cast these spells sometimes, but other times what I described happened.
  15. Oh? When I killed it, there were two of them that came out when it was at like half health. They were at least annoying.
  16. I just realized some of the highest level spells have 9 second cast times... lol. It would have to be god tier for it to be worth that long of a cast.
  17. I have to agree that corpse eater is not a good sub class. There's nobody to eat in the beta. I don't like having a class that isn't consistent in its combat performance. If they could eat any biological enemy, I think it would change considerably.
  18. Yeah, I was surprised how easy he was. The group of xaurips with their paladins ave clerics were way harder. I wasn't close to having anyone getting knocked out.
  19. Which of the strategies you all have noticed still are effective in potd?
  20. I just want to add that I'd be fine with them being able to wear helmets, but not having a graphic for them.
  21. I would like to see some chanter phrases similar to everquest songs. Mcvaxius' Rousing Rondo would be a sweet high level one. It would increase attack speed, might, and create a damage shield (as in, deals damage to those attacking an ally during this chant). Levitation would be a cool effect just to avoid triggering traps under foot and reduce noise made (enhance stealth?). Lots of cool chanter options in everquest 1.
  22. At first I thought path of the damned was too hard, but I realized I was trying to do the harder quest first and the enemies were all 3 levels above my characters. It seems pretty balanced honestly.
  23. I really enjoy the new spell and ability systems they have created for pillars 2. If you need more casts, just use empower. If not, you have extra. The number of spell casts you get seems balanced pretty well for one's level.
  24. Yes! I want helmets on godlike! I love playing the less human-looking characters, but I cannot being myself to ever play a character with a missing slot. I just can't. It bothers me too much. I don't want to make a gear optimization sacrifice just to use the coolest looking races!
  25. Aww I just read this too. I would love to be able to just pick one class of theirs and mc it with any other class. I can understand from a story point of view why that's not possible though. Wouldn't make sense in the story for Eder to be a cipher suddenly or something like that. I just want to experience more of the different subclasses outside of my own character.
