  1. That sounds about right. The only show of theirs that really avoids this is Supernatural, but that only does so by replacing it with brothers scorned drama and heaps and heaps of creepy, homoerotic subtext.
  2. Ugh, the one thing I hate more than GG opponents pretending it's all about conservatives vs progressives is when the conservatives buy into it and co-opt it for free publicity. Vox Day? Really? In this case it's a case of SJW hate being justified because he is a reprehensible bastard. Even they get it right some of the time. That guy being pro-GG sounds like "giving SJWs free ammo" to me.
  3. Continued from here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73293-journalism-and-bias-in-the-gaming-industry/page-37 For the uninitiated: The 'Gamergate' controversy was sparked in early 2013, as the release of Zoe Quinn's "Depression Quest" was criticized from gamers who believed that the game had received a suspicious amount of attention in relation to it's quality and scope. Eron Gjoni (Zoe's ex boyfriend) wrote a blogpost accusing Quinn of having had an affair with Kotaku journalist Grayson, prompting the critics to conclude that the attention and success of "Depression Quest" was due in part to unfair bias and nepotism in the industry. Several articles from both sides of the issue has highlighted inconsistencies in the stories of both Grayson, Quinn and Eron as well as the many other examples that have followed. Gamergate is wideley seen in the public, as a culture war over the diversification of gaming, artistic recognition and social criticism of video games and the gamer social identity. For the posters in this thread: Many bloggers and populists have tried to steer the discussion into areas they feel are the underlying issue - ranging from simple bias, to widespread misogny or misandry. I would however prefer that we keep this discussion as objective and clean as possible and so I will be keeping an a extra close eye on this thread. This certainly does not mean that you may not discuss any issue you feel, but rather that you should be thoughtful of how you discuss it with those you disagree with. Especially in regards to these three guidelines: Discrimination: Obsidian has a zero-tolerance policy with regard to racial, ethnic, gender, religious, disablement, and/or sexually discriminating remarks. Harassment: We ask that the users of this board treat one another with respect, even when opinions differ. Personal attacks that are intended to cause unwanted attention, embarrassment, or harm will not be tolerated. In addition, Obsidian does not tolerate disrespectful and/or slanderous posts about its competitors, developers and publishers. Objectionable Content: The use of abusive, vulgar or profane language, even if hidden through the use of symbols or other characters is not tolerated. Intentionally posting workarounds to our language filters are prohibited. Posts may be edited or deleted at any time by the moderation team, and depending on the severity and frequency of said posts, the poster may be censured or banned. Any posts in violation of the Forum Guidelines will either be removed or modified and authors of such posts will receive warnings and/or have their content placed under moderated review. PLEASE CHECK YOUR IMAGES FOR PROFANITY. IF THE IMAGE CONTAINS UNCENSORED PROFANITY THAT THE BOARD WOULD NORMALLY CENSOR, WE WILL REMOVE YOUR ENTIRE POST.
  4. Closed for length. New topic going up shortly.
  5. It was a little hard to empathise with Matt Murdoch which is why he was constantly surrounded with characters easier to relate to. I was surprised at how much of a real character Foggy Nelson is, instead of just being the comic relief. Other than Wilson Fisk, I think he was my favourite character in the show. But yes, casting Vince in the role of Fisk was a masterstroke. A scary and compelling performance of what is essentially a fairly one-note character. Although every now and again the cadence and tone of his voice kept reminding me that he's the bug wearing the Edgar suit.
  6. As Tigranes said, please contact Support (@) Obsidian (.) Net via e-mail regarding this. Our team has no control over that forum or this game. Hazarding a guess from the message you received, were you using multiple accounts? I believe that is against the rules on the Armored Warfare forum, so that could be why you were banned. I don't know why else they would have checked your IP.
  7. Congratz. Only one year to go until life begins, or so they say. I don't know, I still have three years to go.
  8. I think the point of this movie isn't to think about it so much. It looks like they made it for the fun, more than anything else. Either way, I'm happy with it. Lots of different dinosaurs and this time there's actually people with guns who seem to use them. Pretty much what I want from a Jurassic Park movie.
  9. I google image searched "chair" once and got porn. There wasn't even a chair in the porn pictures. The internet just works that way. To be fair, this was before google even had the safe filter.
  10. Yeah, as much as I want to see a KotOR 3, with SW:ToR still active and Disney cutting 90% of the canon KotOR was based on, that's not going to happen.
  11. That sucks. Good luck with that. Í'm not sure if your jubilant tone won't make people think you're just trolling or something, though.
  12. Are congratulations in order? Is that benign or what?
  13. So how it works in the Tumblr SJW world is that you can just identify as whatever you want, right? From this moment on, I identify as Bruce Campbell.
  14. That looks a little more loyal to the comic than I expected.
  15. What russians? I haven't seen anyone else identify as a russian here. Not even in the myriad of newbie spam posts that never even reach your eyes.
  16. It's that Dr Suess story he's referenced several times that's about two sides being jerks to each other while pretending they're innocent. Forget what it's called. Dr Seuss doesn't translate well, for obvious reasons, so he's not really big here.
  17. Yeah, they're like lions picking off the old cubs once they take over a pride.
  18. Looks like the Honey Badgers didn't actually sign up to do what they were doing, but instead signed up for the expo by pretending they represented a webcomic. If you're going to do unpopular stuff, maybe don't give people such an easy crutch with which to kick you out? The expo wouldn't have had had a leg to stand on if they hadn't broken the rules. Seems like they screwed themselves more than anything.
  19. GRRMDARK WHAAAA. Gimme Marvels' current output over this any day.
  20. Pruned. Let's try to keep the personal attacks to a minimum.
  21. Or maybe we should tackle the ball and not the player and keep personal attacks to ourselves, hm? Back on topic. A couple of fans put together footage from both teasers to make a longer trailer, it's pretty badly edited but here it is anyway: EDIT: Wrong link, fixed.
  22. Binge watched Daredevil on my day off. Marvel is seriously killing it lately.
  23. Once again, I'd like to remind everyone that we have a language filter for a reason and using images with profanity counts as circumventing that filter, which is against the forum guidelines. It happens far too often in this thread and was a large factor in it being closed last time around. Proofread, censor or simply link to your images or it's going to happen again.
