  1. Thanks, it was a good idea to check that. The file itself is gone unfortunately. I'll definitely create more different save files from now on...
  2. I've been playing for quite a while without any problems, but now I've encountered quite a big one... my latest save game (at last level of Od Nua) got deleted. This was just on hard mode, no Path of the Damned or what's it called. After googling I saw that more people have encountered this problem. It was reported that the save might re-appear once you restart the game and Steam, but alas no such luck.
  3. Having a blast here, haven't encountered any bugs yet and just too busy playing and having fun to waste any of my time on trolls, whiners and other negative people! What IS embarassing is that your first post on these forums is an 8-word claim about bugs instead of a constructive post in a thread devoted to these bugs with a detailed description of the bugs you encountered, so the devs can actually do something about them...
  4. Playing on hard and boy that's exactly what it is from time to time...
  5. Luckily, the 2 or 3 loudmouths who were going on and on and on about that were put in their place by a mod stepping in and removing the ripped version of your work without your watermark. The sad thing is that it is apparently a battle you cannot win. People will rip, steal and plunder because they want that one portrait for their game and saying "hey thank you, artist!" by adding some credits when re-publishing someone else's work is too much work for them. In science failing to do so would rightfully cost you your head, but this is the internet where people can just grab without having to spend 60 seconds to acknowledge someone else's hard work. It's probably not much consolation, but you are in good company: see how many dozens of millions rip high quality movies and series like Game of Thrones from torrent sites for free...
  6. I still have a stack of student programming assignments to mark tomorrow, so I'm gonna get up early, try to get them done by 18:00h CET (release time here I think) and then all I need is lots of wine and a bit of easy food that requires no cooking to last me through a long, long session well into the early mornings (I do not need to get up early on Friday! :D )
  7. Going to answer my own question in case anyone else is interested: I think they are in a folder called "depotcache", since there is about 6 gigs of recently installed files there... all in some worthless encrypted format ofc Edit: darn, just beaten to solving my own riddle!
  8. Say, does anyone know where you can find the game files when the preload is completed? I usually find my installed Steam games in E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common but I cannot see it anywhere. I was going to take a peak inside to see if I could already find the soundtrack files in there (probably not). So where o where are those 6 gigs of data hidden?
  9. Regardless of the copyright aspects, you have to be a real **** to post edited versions of the original here while you know the original artist does not want them here like that. Pathetic.
  10. @ OP: I guess you should just ignore the watermark whiners. There are many adults who still act like spoilt little children: they receive a gift and then stamp their feet because they want better. That's just what you're seeing here. Keep adding to YOUR drawings whatever you like.
  11. I'm pretty optimistic about the non-spoiler section remaining spoiler free. The Dragon Age:Inquisition forums likely get a whole lot more activity than this one and I've never seen any incidents there. Of course, it only takes one huge troll to have something very spoilerish appearing on the boards and staying there for a few minutes before it gets removed, but the chances of you reading the forums just in the timespan of those few minutes shouldn't be very large (assuming you only go there a couple of times per day and spend most of your time actually playing the game ). As long as you're not the type of person who's afraid to get struck by lightning while walking the street during an average thunderstorm, I don't think you should worry here either
  12. Come, come now, OP, no need to be so negative about yourself! In real life we would call this neurotic, but since it's a game we call this being a completionist and it just shows everyone how dedicated to the product you are.
  13. I just hope the guy's PC is more modern than his kitchen machinery...
  14. If the game has great story, graphics and scripted events I'd call it a success, even if the UI and controls were disappointing. Or if not a success, at least worth the average game price. *shrugs*
  15. Nice screenshots! I'd personally never get a guide that spoils most of the things you need to find out through exploration though.
  16. There are always people like moi who only play 2 or 3 new games per year max and do not read gaming news sites because 99% of the items on those sites are utterly uninteresting to them. That's why I only found out about this game a few months ago. I love (good) cRPGs, but those are only a small part of the entire gaming market. If this game manages to get all cRPG fans on board it would become a very big success, but I think it will be very, very hard to draw in people unfamiliar with the cRPG genre. It's a niche game, but it has a decemt chance of winning over pretty much the entire niche because of the combination of Infinity Engine successor (famous games) and the reputation of Obsidian in this genre... and hopefully positive (p)reviews will contribute as well.
  17. Doesn't this hold for any class? My guess is that it's because X grow more powerful over time. You want them to stay alive, so they can do Y X / Y: Chanters / their powerful invocations Wizards / their powerful spells Priests / their powerful spells Druids / their powerful spells Rogues / their powerful single target dps Ciphers / their powerful powers Monks / their powerful Bruce Lee Paladins / their powerful something Fighters / their "taking more blows to the head" trick
  18. So let me get this straight... I read on the wiki http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Dexterity that "In combat, it affects the character's Action Speed with all attacks" but it has no influence on the speed with which you can fire your pistol? What is the reasoning behind that? Is it just a firearm thing or does attack speed only influence melee weapons? *confused*
  19. While I can understand this would be a very cool feature for people who know a bunch of other people they can* play this with, the vast majority will not want/be able to play this with others. Adding a whole new dimension to the game that is not going to be used a lot by the majority of its players just isn't very cost effective, me thinks... (and it probably is a pretty expensive one to get right). * so these people need to be able to play regurarly, at the same time as yourself, need to be cool/nice people/ need to want the play the game the same way as you do... you wouldn't be able to play this game with randoms as in an MMO
  20. You can probably use IWD protraits in PoE and if you then just pretend the chanter is called 'bard', you 'll almost be there. Anyone knows how we can pretend there are subclasses in this game?
  21. You have some strange ideas about what the word "evidence" means, me thinks...
  22. We actually do agree! I am not happy with DA:Is story either and mostly for the exact same reasons you gave here My story praise was all aimed at DA2, which I found incredibly refreshing and had the best lineup of companions characters I have seen in a Bioware game.
