It's called balancing. A spell shouldn't only be considered "cool" because it's OP. You want to be OP, play on normal/easy If you want a game, where every fight early to mid game takes ages, play Divinity Original Sin 1.Original Sin 1 Act 1 was amazing. Then it went quickly downhill until u hit lvl 15 and every fight became super trivial. This game has a similar issue atm. Hail Storm was the spell i believe, where the game was very broken, cuz it dealt heavy damage and it freezes the enemies. Ah and rain of arrows was pretty neat.

It took me longer to play through PoE 1 than through PoE 2 and it was much harder. Some quests could not even be done with each class on PotD in the beginning (mostly solo) (like Raedric fight, the bears in the cave ...). But you can do every quest solo on PotD without much a problem in Deadfire. And when you play the game more than once, you are much faster finished in PoE 2 as you are in PoE 1, even without the expansions.

Maybe with a group, but solo you reach level 20 way earlier and then it becomes boring to do any sort of quest for xp or money you don't need anymore. I believe, Nemnok's quest alone nets 15k xp but by that time, you don't need it anymore. I killed not even all his followeres, because i did not need the money and xp. Hmm. I'm just about to do Nemnok and I now just hit 20. I have been avoiding killing people wherever possible this pt, but idk how much difference that makes xp wise if any. I seem to recall POE1 only giving xp for quests, not enemies killed but I may be confused. Simply not possible. You're missing loads of stuff somehow. It's not a matter of "faster." There is a set amount of available exp and a set amount required for 20. Do the companion quests and faction lines and you you will hit 20 without even starting the main quest. I don't have the numbers, but if I had to guess, when I finished the game I had enough for level 26-27 if not higher, and that's assuming an increasing curve. The game keeps showing that you are earning XP it just doesn't go anywhere, which is actually worse than if it just stopped showing exp, like some games do. I'm pretty sure I've done everything possible before He Waits in Fire, besides Nemnok, maybe one longboat & one remote island, a couple of quests that haven't been handed in yet and stuff related to Maia who I haven't recruited. Have you done all the bounties and looted off the most of the ships? Because that needs you very much xp.

There doesn't need to be a "max" level. RPGs in general are rooted in progression. Progression is lost when there is nothing left to improve your character and all you have left to do is go through the final quests which because you are so overpowered are simply an afterthought. This is the case here because 1) 66% of the way through you have nothing left to buy 2) no fights are challenges and 3) you have no levels or skills left to obtain. This shouldn't be that controversial of a topic. I feel you bro. In my 2nd and 3rd playthrough, i skipped some quests and many islands, because i was allready max level and had all the gear / money i wanted and in this game, there is no adra dragon oder alpine dragon challenge. The water / magma dragons are just jokes.

Thanks, i almost commited re-roll. what's the name of this amulet? P.S. Ok, It's ciphers Schakle. In localization it's translated incorrectly (resistance to hobbed). Another interesting think about this amulet - it doesn't work Just tested, I put an amulet on character and know what, he was paralyzed. Looks like it's simly broken. Re-roll indeed. Can anyone check the amulet is really bugged and write the result (it can be local issue)? Advance thanks. Does resistance mean the same as immune?
