  1. I'd be inclined to permit cross-dressing where the standard of dress was consistent with that stipulated for females. It's really a very minor thing compared with the myriad other threats a school faces.
  2. Aye. If you circumvent the filter they come and kill you and your whole family.
  3. I guess a "Hair Squig" reference is lost on those who don't know WH40K... Mmmmm... squig *drool*. Food that fights back as you eat it and is delicious. My perfect dinner. Ahem. BTW the word is toothPICK. Also, what is wrong with a normal pig? They're great animals, and if you ever got tired of the thing you can EAT IT. Best pet ever.
  4. I know that wasn't just pointed at me, but I nevertheless just got poked. I apologise.
  5. That does sound interesting. My immediate reaction is how are they going to make it robust against all the various problems that can occur? I reckon it would HAVE to be quasi modular, and be made from a composite. Steel 'works' for crude carriers, but something really massive? Thinks: what about some kind of bound aggregate that could allow for a degree of movement but retain basic functionality? Like a gigantic sandbag?
  6. You are a gentleman to concede the point, sir. Last night I dreamed Gordon Brown had become so desparate for anyone who would listen to him that he hired me and my colleagues to come help him. What might have been a serious dream descended into farce when it was discovered that someone had left bacon in the file containing key documents and we had to make them up AND discuss what to do about them. Brown was magisterial when the meeting started, became flummoxed by the appearance of the bacon, then became pathetically willing to proceed when someone suggested we could just make up the missing data. I recall he either looked languidly reproving with his one eye, or bobbed up and down with enthusiasm (which happened less often). Very funny.
  7. Apparently having bad translation is a 'turn on' for people who go for these scams. they think it means the correspondent is a bit unworldly and helps explain their insane use of an intermediary. New take on the scam: what about some bloke who's trapped in a wheelchair thing like Steven Hawking, and can only get to the internet occasionally because their nurse/relatives is conspiring against them for the inheritance?
  8. You mean besides the duvet fortress?
  9. Really? Because the population of California is NINE times the size.
  10. My first miniature giant space pig
  11. I thought the idea was that one doesn't lose industrial base. One hands it down like a pair of corduroy trousers, and gets a shiny service industry based economy.
  12. I just had another weird thought. If a kindly magician started making copies of things like BMWs then would he be arrested, if he didn't charge anything for it?
  13. No. No you don't. Which is why one might cruelly suggest you put a bit more effort into learning to fight properly.
  14. I don't think it's weird to advocate organising into more homogenous systems. To pair a quasi industrialised area with a fully industrialised area in the northeast and a rapidly growing area on the west coast seems pretty bizarre. Which is why - despite the result being rubbish - I support the notion of Scottish independence in many matters. And why I am wholly against full European union.
  15. I can never work out if the industry is more worried about people copying for free by sharing, or selling the stuff. They seem desperately keen to push the organised crime angle, but I've yet to be convinced on that score.
  16. A life running away surely counts. Especially in a EUROPEAN film festival *yuk yuk*.
  17. If only someone had told Polanski this he could have avoided a lot of trouble.
  18. You contradict yourself in your next sentence. Governments don't just spend money on gold-plated hookers. Somalia has pretty low taxes but people don't emigrate there. Canada has taxes but every bastard I know would love to live there. I also take issue with your idea that you can't spend money you don't have. The whole history of economic growth shows that spending money you don't have is a great way to grow and improve. Or don't you have business loans where you are? Having said that I do accept that Cali seems to have spent money it not only doesn't have but isn't reasonably going to have. I'm just aghast at the idea that cutting education, policing, public parks, public spaces etc is going to make the place more attractive. My feeling is that the place is banjo'd.
  19. If you WERE going to go in and hand in your guns on a buyback you'd HAVE to go wearing parachute pants ala MC Hammer. You could hand over everything then when they ask if that's it, you say "Just my ankle-holster" and pull out the BAR.
  20. Yesterday was a break day. Sorry, I don't know why I thought you'd all telepathically know that. Today, the last day in the 'week' is the walk/cycle/row/swim. 30 minutes walking, or 20 minutes anything a bit faster. Tomorrow is a mixed day, but I think it will be a bit easier than the last one.
  21. Quite amazing what just ten days on this program has done. I sailed through the first five minutes Barely even out of breath. There's also real progress on the pressups and situps, even if the second sets were substandard AGAIN. I reckon I should be comfortably hitting Army minimum by the end of the month! Obviously this doesn't include the run. I am still when all's said and done, a short fat man. But then, the Army doesn't pay me to look cute. ... at least I hope not. Anyway, highlight today was toiling up the hill when I realised I looked tired and puffed out. My sense of pride kicked in and I switched the mp3 to the 'colonial theme' of battlestar galactica. I lifted my chin up, straightened my back, and went to double time. Managed the whole thing in one go! Felt like throwing up at the top, but didn't.
  22. Jesus! Sounds like you got banjo'd. Hope you feel better soonish. I can't suggest much.
  23. I do sometimes wonder about the n00b grinders. I mean what is the fething point? I find playing against the regular wehrmacht AI turns rapidly into a sniper hunt. They get everywhere and the second they draw fire they run. I'm not sure if i love this or loathe it. It's a nightmare at times, but it also gives me an excuse to level every single stick of cover in front of my choke points. BTW, am surprised you've not had NAT errors. What's your secret?
  24. Hang on, Warren Ellis? What is Hostile Waters, then?
  25. i know I'm on a high difficulty setting, and am replaying at low level, but am I the only person who spends a lot of time running away from things?
