  1. Debatable. Actually, it has BEEN debated. in Parliament. And in Congress. At length. By democratically elected representatives. Hence it's the law. In England the minimum age is 16 years. Now, at 15 years, 11 months, and 28 days I'd be willing to concede leniency. 13 years is not just wrong, it's obviously wrong. A 13 year old does not even look like they're old enough to give consent.
  2. If you reckon that's what you'll do, then fair enough. I on the other hand have tried that approach and got nowhere. You do too little mostly, then do too much in a short burst, hate it, and go back to doing nothing.
  3. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. Jaw=dropped. I know what you mean. Rich bloke, too. It's not like he needed them to be worth more.
  4. I'm beiginning to wonder what my subconscious is tying to tell me. Am I the sword, in which case am I doing well or badly. Is there someone I should love or hate? Is the point that a sword can do neither. In which case is that a good thing or a bad thing? Or am I the smith, in which case, what is the sword?
  5. I can't stand the fact that just because the son of a bitch made a few good movies he's let off raping a child. WTF, people? Gary Glitter got hounded from pillar to post. Polanski gets posh inviets to film premieres?
  6. Get with the program, you daft bugger. This regime is designed to take you from nowhere.
  7. All the more reason to do it. Bastards.
  8. How do you mean?
  9. I feel the same way about my bloody situps. I must have been having a very good day or something. I'm still concerned about not making enough progress on the situps and pushups, so I'm going to do a few lifts and crunches today, on the sly in small doses to convince the relevant muscles I mean business. Tomorrow's exercise is quite tame, but we have a good milling on Thursday to look forward to. WEDNESDAY phase 1: 20-30 mins brisk walk _OR_ 15-20 mins cycling, rowing, or swimming. WEDNESDAY phase 2: brisk walk for 30-40 minutes _OR_ 15-20 mins cycling, rowing, or swimming [presumably by your stage you're expected to swim faster or something] I intend to do the walk, which is a bit of a copout, since I always walk at least 30 minutes a day up and down a bloody great hill.
  10. You make an excellent point. DR being married merely serves to reinforce my conviction that she is my ex who married a woman in California when it was legal.
  11. Well, lump of metal is just lump of metal, but if you shape it as a sword then you have given it a meaning... I think. So, sword does love the smith, I guess. Presumably the smith loves the sword, but does the sword love the smith? If you think about it from the sword's perspective, then it began as lumps of iron and only got made into a sword because of the smith. the smith makes it what it is, but the process is 'painful', the smith probably 'corrupts' the sword with charcoal and whatnot to make it a better sword. I do get what you mean about the sword loving the sheath. But then if we take that as a fixed truth, which it probably is, then it wouldn't if it were still iron. Does this mean the sword is obliged to love the smith as well?
  12. I'm assuming it was a metaphysical question. I'm going to have words with my subconscious if it comes to teh same thing as "Is a lump of coal a rainbow?" "No."
  13. I don't hold with wasting time disliking big corporations for being big corporations. You don't beat a dog for barking. I don't even much mind arms companies. Selling death is tehir job. But a chocolate company which kills or finances killing? It's neither necessary nor natural.
  14. I had a dream last night, and it's pretty hazy. But I got asked a question, as a question which I was to remember and find an answer to. "Does the sword hate the smith, or does the sword love the smith?" I just realised I should ask more opinions on this.
  15. I can agree with this sentiment and it's definitely a hit against UHC. Smoking seems to be the big focus at the moment with respect to this. Isn't this a problem with any insurance in general though? Sure they can charge higher premiums to people that are of a particular risk, but the idea behind insurance is that claims are paid to those that need it with the money from those that don't. Insurance companies bank on people not needing their services. Who pays the cost for emergency treatment for those that don't have insurance in free market systems? Flip that round, and the question surely becomes "In a state without UHC what right does the state have to tell you you can't smoke?" I know I'm being tangential but it's a point.
  16. Maybe she thought it was a library like in Buffy, and she was expecting to be attacked?
  17. Hey, gorgeous, how have you been?
  18. Was quite chuffed with my run. Kept my head up, and some power into the down swing, unlike my typical slight shamble. I figure I'd better begin as I mean to end. Massively let down on the upper body stuff tho. My arms quit working by pushup 30, and I only made it to 39. Wait, hang on... ROLMAO my total IS 39! I got confused and thought it was 49 for some reason. Situp failed again, tho. Definitely. Only managed 57. Ran out of time rather than puff. Still, not so bad. At least I went out and did it. Getting out the door is 90% of the battle.
  19. I hear you, brother. I also hate it when that happens.
  20. Good point. Anyone remember that collector who went into the British library and defaced rare books so his own copies would be even rarer? What a douche.
  21. It's true they own a bunch of stuff, but I'm not trying to convert you all to some messianic plot. Just, if you're undecided on what to get for some reason, find out if it's nestle and if it is, then don't go that option.
  22. I've seen women doing pushups from the knee. And I don't mean in clubs in Amsterdam. However, I also heard those same women saying the pushups could be really bad for your back. Anyway, on with today. Apologies for the late posting. I actually spent the whole day playing Masters of Orion, which is bad, and I'm being honest so I don't do it again. Walk-jog for 20 minutes, 1 min walk, 3 min run. Same deal as before 1x press up max 2x5 dorsal raises 2x5 tricep dips 1x situp max And presumably 30-90 secs rest between sets as before ~~ Phase 2 chaps, you're on: 10 minute warm up circuit training, 2x 12 of each of the following: Press ups, twist sit-ups [elbow to opposite knee], step-ups with knee to chest, tricep dips, walking lunge [ like a fencer's attack lunge], situps, one-legged squat [i have no idea], dorsal raises
  23. Sooooo long since I played that game, and yes he was pretty cool.
  24. I'm not going to pretend I don't have a massive grudge against Nestle inherited from my parents, who tried to tackle the effects of their baby 'food'. So it's no mystery why I thought I should bring this to your attention. Nestle sanction busting in Zimbabwe, buying from milk from the dictator's private farms, and claiming its a local subsidiary of the company, not the parent. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...food-giant.html My point being, the next time you fancy a snack, why not pick a different snack giant?
  25. 85 is very respectable.
