I have the impossible urge to stew and eat an alpaca.

In order to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ I intend to get completely bongoed on a mixture of real ale and cider then have a terrifying hangover.

There's been a lot of good points made. I didn't have time t read all of them. The way this works practically in Fallout New Vegas is you boost your barter and take about three perks. Voila, more storage and storage carting that you could ever want. In this way I was forced to ask why the giddy f*** I was dragging so much crap around. I never bloody used it. Took perks in being cool and murdering people, forgot all about storing 10,000 conductors. EDIT: However, it's all up to the player. If they insist on spending three perks on dragging a bazillion 9mm rounds around for 20 guns they don't use then they can have at it.

Very interesting post no doubt. However, I have to wonder whether agency underpins the core appeal of RP gaming. We live our lives with at least the presentiment of a lack of agency. For me gaming reminds me of the potential for seizing agency. Simple point probably kept simple. EDIT: rereading your post I take your second point about leaving quests open. Rightly or wrongly many of my friends who game get bloody angry if they can't come back to a quest. Elevating the art is all well and good, but people ultimately have to buy it in large numbers.

HP Lovecraft was an arse - EVERYONE ROLL FOR SAN LOSS!
Walsingham replied to Walsingham's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
The truth which negates the logic making it true negates itself, and becomes a lie. ~~ ANYWAY ~~ I voiced some of the concerns in this thread and just got thrown out of my RP group! LOL I did some research on my lunch break today and came up with some damned interesting stuff from the USMC (of all places). I'll try to stay motivated tomorrow and write it up.- 54 replies

What's the point of that? Just drink bourbon. It is, frankly, an insult to the bourbon that you're drinking a substance whose only appeal is that it licked Bourbon's bathtub after Bourbon got out. LOL. But give Shady a break. I'll try and get some for myself and give it a go.

May I remind the forum that it wasn't so long ago that oby was telling us he was a girl? Having misunderstood the nature of his own armament for some time I'm a bit dubious about his understanding of anyone else's.

What I find particularly frustrating is that half-baked polarisation means alienation from exactly the normal measures of monitoring and causing a fuss that Enoch and I are talking about. Functional government is dull and time consuming. Far more fun to run around pretending we're all just about to get stomped.

If you really think there's no distinction between the morality of Putin's Russia and how the EU functions then ...well that's quite interesting.

I hope you're joking. Bad joke if you are. If you're not, add your name, along with Tagaziel's and JadedWolf's in bold next to BruceVC's in my post, as what I said went way over your head. Add my name in bold? Look, what you 'nerds' don't seem to realise is that you do not want a world in which your official servants make up their own minds unilaterally about what can and cannot be shared with everyone else. The key thing is that I'm not anti-democratic. Democracy means no witch-burnings. It's rule of law. Not rule by the gun or the mob. What you fools seem to be in favour of is what I like to call the 'upskirt' version of democracy. It's the lazy, self-hating weirdo's idea of how government should work. democracy is hard work. You have to pay attention, not rely on white knights cantering around governmentg agencies feeding you what you need to know in the nick of time like a bloody fairy tale.

Its just a joke, I wouldn't really let them pay and almost everyone seems to know its a joke and it makes everyone laugh Sorry, man. My temper's as short as my breath. And I can't breath properly.

Seriously? Everyone agrees/knows what the NSA did what outside the law Really? Is that a professional goddamn opinion? Or are you retrospectively deciding that it ought to have been illegal? What Snowden did was violate the actual law in order to hand information directly to the Russian and Chinese security services, those paragon defenders of the little guy. Rather than do what he would have been told to do on day one: tell Congress. In the grown up world we don't just do whatever we happen to decide suits our personal need to feel awesome. We vote on laws then we obey the laws.

This is my understanding also. In similar vein, this is what happens when everyone depends on a dev team doing difficult work for tips. Two overworked guys miss something.

Chaos Gate is a great game. sadly there's something wrong with the cultist laspistols which crashes the game. Way overdue a reskin.

which is pretty impressive compared to the ~75,000 that backed via Kickstarter & Paypal originally. At $35 a pop, that means PoE has gained $900k-$1.5m from slacker backers, or equivalently 20%-35% of its Kickstarter budget. This is obviously great news, but If a dev happens across this, is it great news for PoE's budget specifically, or is that money considered profit to be channelled into other projects down the line? If it's the former, was this why extra wilderness areas and characters were being considered over Christmas? Interesting question.

Hemlock Grove is fantastic. A bit trippy, Twin Peaks without the digressions.

Punishing criminals is a good thing. Revealing criminality is a good thing. What Snowden did was criminal. You work it out, sparky.
