If there's nothing mechanically obtruding your ears then I'd suggest a mental issue. There must be disorders of the speech centres of the brain. Alternatively you could just be hitting the age where you simply stop caring what people say. It's hard to pay attention when what they are saying is balls.

Firstly, have to respect your taking the trouble to explain it in detail. Secondly, I have to agree that it isn't strictly needed, but for two reasons: 1. The coding may be easy but adding the relevant button to the GUI might need hours of effort from a graphic designer, plus a recheck by quality control etc etc. 2. People who will appreciate the button are likely to be tabletop players or at least boardgame enthusiasts. We're all likely to be canny enough to do it on our own. Taken together I'd vote no. But still applaud the principle. -
People talk about the importance of timing. I can't think of a better clip of comedy which illustrates this point. Or a better example of comedy old people.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I was going to share something useful wfrom my own mum's illness. Then I recalled that I'd deliberately forgotten it all.

LOL Point. Question: perhaps a gun could be designed specifically for them? I doubt it would be of any interest to a manufacturer, but it might be a good student project.

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0071-look-out-modeling-scams - if it'll help. Cool webpage. Very nice rundown on the scam elements. If I ever fancy running a scam I'm going there first to get the basics.

Goat meat's OK. But you have to admit the little bastards are evil.

Most expats won't shut up about the situation in their old country. EDIT: Been put on a course of antibiotics for my cough. Also been signed off work for another week. Not sure how I feel about it, because I am getting a bit bored. And yes, I'm blaming you bastards for me being bored.

I'm such an idiot. I just remembered that Pakistan has a thriving and often times hilarious market in counterfeit rifles.

HP Lovecraft was an arse - EVERYONE ROLL FOR SAN LOSS!
Walsingham replied to Walsingham's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Wals how would you feel about the concept of insanity that it's unknown to the player? In RL a lot of mentally unstable people have no idea or a diminished awareness of their condition. It simply makes no sense to me that the player should have perfect information about their condition, for roleplaying purposes it would be interesting to see them try to figure out what's wrong with their character and try different strategies. On a related note, decay mechanics are absurd, slowly prevent any chance of success and turn out to be counter-intuitive since you can only play the game saddled with a dynamic time limit. I think that's a splendid idea. If the madness is triggered by a perceptual failure then it should manifest there first. Of course practically speaking that's putting a lot of weight on the GM. How does the GM balance the player's perceptions against those of the other players? But I guess I'd throw it in when rolls are being made.- 54 replies

Could you elaborate? I'm genuinely interested. Manufacturing standards that belong on cheap throwaway guns. Wobbly cylinders. Huge barrel/cylinder gaps way out of spec. Crappy, extremely heavy double action triggers that pull slightly upward as well as back. The ergonomics were terrible. The tiny hammer spur and difficulty of reaching it paired with the incredibly heavy mainspring seemed like it was actually trying to discourage you from shooting it single action. Maybe these things were just distracting me, but in practice I didn't notice any particular recoil advantage over your regular revolver either. I only ask by way of a general issue: could it have been a fake? You get fake clothes, drugs, and (so I've heard) even cars. Do you get fake guns?

Many very interesting perspectives expressed. Thinking about it in light of all your comments I wonder if you'd agre with these points: - You can't just have a linear 'loony tunes' index. As if sanity was oil in an engine. Sanity IS the engine. - A player should be able to try to work around, or against, or with their eroding insanity - Both points above indicate the need for more detail in the type of damage the player has received.- 54 replies

Thanks for the sympathy, again. I appreciate it. After sleeping on it I feel pretty satisfied with how it turned out. I struck a good balance between taking risks and being cautious. Didn't lose anything worth speaking of. I wouldn't have predicted feeling so good about it. I guess the best I can say is that I feel clean. Like when you've been working in mud, and you have a good scrub.

Don't Think Twice It's Alright. Various covers. I've already posted more than enough covers of this song in the past. But I'm really i the mood for it.

Thanks for the sympathy, man. I often wonder about fraudsters. In some ways I almost think they are worse than simple violent criminals. Violence can occur without empathy. Effective fraud demands it. I just feel drained and sleepy now. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning.
