That's fine. I know a few players I could ask as well, but since they're local to me, I'm sure they would prefer face-to-face gaming. The Rancor Pit Star Wars RPG These two sites feature TONS of resources for the game. The rules system is so easy, that I can teach it to anyone in five minutes. The only complicated part is character creation. I will have to type up rules/instructions for character creation.

Better one-on-one fights...duals?
EnderAndrew replied to Retnuh's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hearts has three optional bosses. The Phantom, Kurt Zisa, and Sephiroth. Sephiroth is damn near impossible to beat. Actually, one could consider the Ice Titan, and all the Colesium stuff optional to boot. -
Well, any test should reflect 100 being average. If not, the test needs to be redeveloped. Since IQ = Intelligence Quotient, and the score represents your logical development divided by your actual age. If you are "smarter" than your actual age, your IQ should be above 100. If you have an average intellence for your age, then you have a 100. Most IQ tests developed these days don't really reflect an accurate quotient at all.

Why would it? It would seem out of place in a Star Wars game. You're arguing that this team would Disney-fy Wasteland based upon their decision to do a StarWars game. That logic astounds me. SquareSoft put out a game called XenoGears which is quite dark and disturbing. The plotline of the game encourages you to hate God, and has the main character killing everyone and everything that is near and dear to him. Final Fantasy Legend also has you killing God. Yet this is the same company that put out a Disney title. Just because you do a game with lighter content doesn't preclude you from doing a dark title, or vice versa. The OE crew has ALREADY PROVED they can handle dark content. Your comments assuming they would dumb down such content is ignorant. Last time I checked, Star Wars was the number 2 highest grossing film of all time, and Star Wars is an unmatched cultural phenomena. Tons of people would kill for the opportunity to develop a game in that universe, and OE has the wonderful distinction of playing in the KOTOR time period where they have less to worry about Lucas's continuity or rules. And even if it wasn't a Star Wars RPG, they were handed the keys to the Game of the Year. That's not a bad way to start off a new company and make a name for yourself. I'll take Torment over KOTOR, but KOTOR:TSL will likely gross ten-times what Torment:2 would, and that may give OE the money to pursue a new IP. I'm down with that.

It's okay. I ran a Star Wars RPG table-top game for around 7 years. Players asked for saber-armor, saber-gloves, saber-whips, etc. etc. You're not alone. I just don't care for the idea personally.

If I had the option to get a premium transfer of the original from laserdiscs, I would take that. It also depends on picture and sound quality. Will all the surround-sound encoding be on the disc, etc?

I will likely once again wield two sabers, with different colors. I'm waiting to see what color options present themselves, but blue and purple will work fine. I probably will probably focus heavily on Awareness, or Repair. It depends if I can use another character's Repair skill at the workbench.

No problem.

I was about to argue the logic of a saber-whip being flawed, and then common sense hit me. I think I'll walk away.

MCA said that gay romances didn't quite seem "Star Wars". I don't expect to see gay characters in KOTOR:TSL. However, Atton Rand might be flamingly straight, or metrosexual.
-
I've beaten it several times. I've only seen two major endings. There were several endings depending on how you affected different cities, but there wasn't really a "grey" or neutral ending per se.
-
-
Most games only have one ending, regardless of how you played it. The game still allowed you to play grey. However, you had to make a decision at the end of the game. God forbid that. This is an RPG after all. How many endings did Fallout have? Did it have an ending to cater for grey characters, or did you have to make a decision in that game as well?
-
Do you think your bitching is helping anything? Is it changing KOTOR, or leading to the production of games you would prefer to play? Your attitude takes away the credibility of your remarks. You're here to complain needlessly and I'm done listening.
-
Yeppers. Jolee was grey, and you could be too if you so desired.
-
I imagine it's a joke we won't get fully until we play the game and interact with Atton Rand.

Better one-on-one fights...duals?
EnderAndrew replied to Retnuh's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The more and more I think about ways to improve KOTOR, I look over to Kingdom Hearts. There are stats at play, but you actively control the swinging of the sword in Kingdom Hearts, which I enjoy immensely. I know it makes for a completely different game, and a variety of people would scream, but I digress. Either you have a purely stat driven RPG, or you have a twitchy-action oriented RPG. -
In Kingdom Hearts, you hear Sora grunt each time he swings the sword. There are a variety of grunt sound-effects, and it works nicely. They're not too loud, and it sounds relatively realistic. I keep picturing the recording sessions for that. "Haley, we need to grunt some more for the microphone."

I rather like that idea a lot. I hope it is introduced in KOTOR:3.

Well, the poverty line in the US is quite different from the poverty line in other countries. The minimum wage in the US is currently $5.15/hr, and talks are in place to raise it above $7.00/hr, which is good. Central America boasts several countries where the AVERAGE wage is something like $0.27/hr. Did you know that you can make more money by not working in this country, than by working in a minimum-wage job? Yep. Welfare and unemployment consider minimum wage to be far enough below poverty, that they'll dole out more than that. The United States does have homeless people, and that's horrible. When I was 14, I struck out on my own, and lived on the streets for a while. I had rich parents, and have seen riches and poverty. I know what it's like to go hungry, and what it's like to live on another's graces. I consider myself blessed for that. A big part of the problem is that the US, and much of the world is built upon capitalism. Capitalism eventually leads to the unequal distribution of wealth. The United States features a variety of socialistic programs like welfare. These programs need reform, but the numbers of 25 million people living in poverty are biased numbers. They live quite well compared to people around the rest of the world. And frankly, I don't know what the rest of the world is like, but a BIG part of the problem in the US is drug addiction. It increases crime, and ruins people's lives. When I did volunteer work at the local homeless shelter, I'd say that 90% of the people in the shelter had addiction problems that led to them being homeless. We need to address the serious nature of addiction, and do more to combat it.

Is the masked guy Darth Nihilus?
EnderAndrew replied to Darth Jebus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
We'll all find out in a few months. Until then, I'll call him "mask-dude". -
I'd wager that abour 1,200 of your 1,300 posts have been "Too bad I'm being forced to play a Jedi." I will explain this one more time, slowly. No one is forcing you to play this game. You say you aren't going to play the game. You say you don't care about it. That's fine. You have the right to have that opinion. You also have a right to post on these forums despite not caring for the title in development. However, your incessent badgering about being "forced" to do something is down right annoying. You are not being forced to play anyone. And if, for some reason, you go back on your word and play this title (which I suspect you might) then you have plenty of non-Jedi characters to play. What I really recommend is that you boot up Fallout again, and play a game you enjoy rather than bitching about games that you don't. Or, here's an idea. Since you want a game that doesn't exist, go make one. Toolsets and editors are out there. You don't even need to know how to program, and you like to write. Go develop a game. I'm serious. Maybe people will play it and appreciate your contributions, because your current mantra of "I'm being forced to play a Jedi" isn't appreciated.

Once again, I point to the Crying Game.
