  1. Record? What record? Did someone make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs?
  2. You can take your system, and put it in a new case. You can keep most of your components, and move to a new motherboard, allowing you to upgrade. Egad, PCI video card? What is the world coming to?
  3. Or, if they wanted Revan's story to span three games, then plan accordingly and have a level 8 cap in the first game.
  4. That's evil though. My LS Jedi would never do such a thing (despite that fact that they will be life drained anyway by your or Malak)
  5. The next Windows build (code-named Longhorn) is built around this new API that allows full Windows apps to be launched remotely via the web or a network. I doubt the XBox will run off that. However, Direct X 9 (or 10) will likely be at the heart of the XBox Next. I've heard some rumors that the XBox Next may not feature a hard-drive since they're trying to keep costs down while being cutting-edge. What I'd like to see is modular consoles that you can upgrade. Make an affordable (say $200 or $250 at launch instead of the $400 I'm hearing) console. Then if you want to throw in a DVD-Burner, Hard drive, whatever, make that optional. (The PSX - effectively called the PS 2-and-a-half in Japan features a hard drive, and a DVD burner. You can record tv shows with it, and burn them to DVD)
  6. I wore heavy armor, so that helped, but I also didn't have access to Valor or Speed. But that did save Force points to use on Heal. I think I may have used some Battle Stimulants I had laying around.
  7. Hey, I'm not knocking Fallout. And 9 times out of 10, I prefer a game that allows me freedom to play different character types for replayability. I like having alot of control over character creation. I like the SPECIAL rules-system despite a few flaws. I think Planescape Torment over-came all that was great despite being limited.
  8. That's what I thought. Isn't the XBox just one "standardized" computer? Yes and no. The X-Box features a hard drive, a CPU, and a graphics card. It runs on a version of Windows CE. The graphics and software have Direct X support, so PC games written for Windows and Direct X port nicely. However, the architecture of how the mainboard is designed is quite different. One could contend that it is a very specialized computer. However, it does vary from a PC in a few regards. I have seen hacked XBoxes running Windows or Linux, so it can be used as a PC if you really wanted.
  9. With my LS level 4 soldier/16 guardian, I never had any challenge, and didn't need any exploits. Every time he real away, I'd merely heal.
  10. Someday child, you may see the light.
  11. No, it's your huge butt that makes you look fat, honey.
  12. Last time I checked, Martin just went on about how much he supported the US and Bush through everything. I'd say US-Canadian relations are good right now.
  13. Logic points out the folly of illogical situations. Then again, humans aren't completely logical creatures. We have emotional truth, and logical truth. We often fail to balance these two things.
  14. Yep, but now it's also acting as Sense Motive and such. So, it will affect dialogue options.
  15. I haven't looked into that kinda stuff in a while. I've wanted to run a game online, but never really have. Some of the systems claim to be fully customizable for any rules-set. Then again, if you have a flexible dice-roller, then you don't need the computer to really do anything else.
  16. I'm guessing that I will max Awareness on my main PC, and max Treat Injury on a healer-Jedi.
  17. It all depends. Some of these games are made by LucasArts directly, and some games are made by outside contracters.
  18. There are a variety of programs for that. It all depends. Sites like Ethereal Realms are chat-rooms with dice rollers that require no software. You have pictures for your characters, and can role-play there. Or you can get Web-RPG software that includes mapping, character sheets, etc.
  19. Most certainly. Compare Gladius, KOTOR, Battlefront, KOTOR:2, Republic Commando, even Galaxies to their earlier games like Racer Revenge, Clone Wars and Super Bom-Bad racing.
  20. Let's compare your list to Planescape Torment. Torment's character creation was more constricting than KOTOR's. Torment wouldn't let you pick gender or portrait. Torment was equally a poor implementation of rules, and relied upon the IE engine. Torment was equally linear. Torment had fewer areas to explore. And one could argue that Torment didn't present much of a challenge at combat either. Yet, Torment is one of the greatest games on the PC ever.
  21. While I played KOTOR, I was also playing Kingdom Hearts on the PS2. Kingdom Hearts had tons of worlds, each similiar in size to KOTOR worlds. The levels were far more dynamic, and the game featured more puzzles. All the dialogue was voice-acted by a stellar cast, and the graphics were just as good. The minigames were fun, combat was more interesting, and I have a hard time finding an advantage KOTOR has over Kingdom Hearts save for the lightsabers.
  22. In the beginning of the game, the first vendor on Taris talks about shield technology. It stops blaster fire, but is useless against standard melee weapons. That's why melee weapons made a come-back.
  23. Sith (at least in KOTOR) seem to have the mentality of strength in leadership. The leader themselves wasn't as important as the strength of the leader. Malak turned on Revan, but you didn't see the Sith divided by loyalties.
  24. I think it has potential. Any good RP session depends on the group.
