  1. The nice part about getting my pixels on, is that I'm less likely to get a restraining order.
  2. It's silly to vote Mon Cal. They weren't contacted for a few thousand years yet. However, they have more votes than Sullustans.
  3. It's been years. The Tales of the Jedi series introduces Naomi Sunrider, the Qel Droma brothers, and some of the characters you hear mentioned in KOTOR. The Exar Kun war itself in in Sith Lords.
  4. Maybe it was a peace offering.
  5. Clarke was very vocal for years about how Iraq and Al Quaeda were linked. He supported Clinton's bombings and said there was tons of evidence that Al Quaeda and Iraq were making WMD together. A few years later he is now accusing Bush of making all that stuff up, despite the fact he was singing the same tune before. Clarke is grilling Bush like this is some Salem Witch Hunt.
  6. When Fallout 3 comes out, and Hades rushes out to buy a copy, I hope someone stops him and says "Sorry, Fallout is dead."
  7. One of Hitler's biggest mistakes was going into Russia in the winter. Yes that played a large part in his defeat. I wouldn't say Russian heroism won the war considering that Russia got it's butt kicked. But Russia's weather helped out a lot. If you said that people overlooked the Eastern Front, I'd agree with you. To say the Eastern Front was the entirety of the war is foolish. If the US hadn't entered the war, people would be speaking German in France right now. And I thought the whole world wanted the US to stay out of affairs. The US hadn't been attacked. Why should we have entered the war sooner? Either people want us to police the world, or they don't. Make up your minds.
  8. If Bastilla had any appeal, it was in the voice acting. Her personality killed a lot of it though. All we've got for Atris (or whoever) is concept art.
  9. Just because a person is insane doesn't mean that vampires exist. I think I might be better off if I ignored everything before Drakon's signature. The animation is quite entrancing and hypnotic.
  10. Hades, Your argument is that a new game, KOTOR (which doesn't advertise itself as faithful recreation of the Star Wars D20 system) must follow past-precedent in rules systems, or else. Well, the D20 system sure didn't. It's quite different from D&D 3rd edition, and both are quite different from the West End Game's Star Wars RPG. You make changes as necessary for whatever story you want to tell. Mechanics should not get in the way of story. That is the first and foremost rule of role-playing, and you'll find it in every book.
  11. The explanation about the Endar Spire is that they were suprised. She didn't have time to use Battle Meditation before the ship was crippled.
  12. You claim that the war was one front, and debating that point is lying. Well, then 99% of the history books all must lie. The war really had four fronts. And ask France sometime about Bellau Woods.
  13. A day in the life of OE: Michael Chu walks into work Wednesday and says "Um, guys, I know UT2k4 is a lot of fun, but people keep asking me questions about the game. Do you think we should get around to designing it already?" Chris responds, "are you kidding? I have three words for you. Duke Nukem Forever." Feargus chimes in, "here is your coffee." FrankK says, "first I have to finish making that hidden Pong minigame for Ender. Don't worry. We'll ship before Fallout Online." Chu looks perplexed. "Don't we have a second project to start on?" FrankK looks quite excited. "You betcha. I'm coding on our new top-secret UT2k4 mod the KOTOR:AE team is designing for us."
  14. Is the game fun to play? Is the story-worthwhile? That's all I care about. I was storytelling a vampire regional LARP convention when two players got in a fight. They played these super-powered Elder vampires with super-strength and were fighting in a parking lot in Seattle. One character wanted to pick up a car and throw it at the other character. The other player threw a fit about how you can't pick up a car no matter how strong you are. Physics won't allow you to pick it up by the bumper. It would fall off, and there isn't a spot where you can grab the car near the center of gravity. The fight raged on endlessly as they debated physics in real life. I countered with "vampires don't exist in real life either. Either continue to role-play and move on, or I was done running the scene."
  15. If Battle Meditation was so incredible, then having her around makes it hard to accept the Republic got owned so easily by the Sith.
  16. Melee Parry merely covers Vibroswords and the like. Lightsaber is unique in that it does not have a seperate parry skill. You use the one skill for offensive and parry rolls. Don't ask me why. And you are correct that you would need to add 2D to Prosthetic Repair before you could buy Prosthetic Design. There are very few Advanced Skills, but they require a prerequsite before you can buy them, and they cost double what skills do. Another example would be Medicine, with First Aid being the prerequsite. You can specialize in Surgery. And I like Frungy as your "s***" skill. Go ahead and put 1D in it, thusly you'd have 5D in Frungy.
  17. COBOL = Completely Obnoxious Because Of Length. and PCMCIA = People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Anacronyms
  18. That was about it. And he had no personality to boot.
  19. I think the progress on The Fall looks pretty decent, and the Silver Side devs cater to the fan community more so than any company I've ever seen.
  20. I think there will likely be 3 or 4 spots that can vary depending on class, gender and alignment.
  21. There are some schools of thought that say by having one united government in an empire, you bring stability and remove the threat or war. However, genocide is genocide.
  22. Playing a LS Soldier/Guardian, armor made sense. I'm not playing DS, and I might favor dark robes.
  23. The Mortal Kombat games had multiple endings, and the sequels only recognized one true ending. It works for Mortal Kombat. I don't think it works for RPGs. If the devs are clever, then they can integrate the multiple endings, which I think they have. The problem is when you have a lengthy series. What about KOTOR:5?
  24. There is very little to suggest this. It's just a common SciFi tool that weak writers use. If we take in Einstein's work, we must believe that it is impossible to go exactly the speed of light, and thusly it would be hard to pass that barrier. To pass the speed of light, theorhetically there would be a moment where we are at the speed of light. Mass and energy are one at the speed of light.
