Actually, the first time I personally saw this system was with Final Fantasy II.

Could someone please explain to me what Jefferson is and why we should bring it back? :-P

Can we stop Polls from bumping themselves?
EnderAndrew replied to Squidget's topic in Obsidian General
I think we should have a poll about this. -
I imagine that it's an area of Forgotten Realms, just like Neverwinter and Balur's Gate.

Jobs aren't easy to come by in California. Labor conditions aren't always the same out there. A buddy of mine works for a company that creates stages to measure minute measurements, to make processors and the like. He makes about 60k a year, but works like a slave for it. And if he complains, he will be replaced. The EA Spouse is basically claiming they were working over 60 hours and don't really make that much. Personally, if they're making less than 35k-40k, it's really hard to justify those hours for skilled labor in any state.

My girlfriend is all for moving back to her hown town of Edmonton if I tried to get on with Edmonton. If I had a few years of experience I could apply with Obsidian....

Apparently no one likes math humor. But let me tell you, real friends don't let friends drink and derive.

How Good Was KOTOR 2?
EnderAndrew replied to darthillinovex's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In my mind, it's better than the other games I haven't played yet. -
Why should everything be in measurements of ten? No one likes octal? Oct 31 is the same thing as Dec 25. Ever think of that? Huh?

What is the odd metric system you speak of?

With tactics you usually have a squad of around 6, against another small squad. But each individual character has very unique skills. You take each character, and develop what jobs they study, and can mix skills from various jobs. I love larger tactical games like Civ, and Alpha Centauri. But games like Final Fantasy Tactics offer an equal level of tactical enjoyment. But instead of large battlefiends, you deal with small units.

PC version more "polished"?
EnderAndrew replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I wasn't happy with the Sam and Max 2 cancellation. I think LucasArts may be hurting for money believe it or not. But they publish games and hardly make any internal games. They made Gladius, which I loved, and it bombed. -
XBox Live for a single player game full of exposition? You're making my head hurt like math. If you want a Halo like game with lightsabers, the rent Jedi Academy. Then play it multiplayer. There you go.

PC version more "polished"?
EnderAndrew replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They were pretty crappy games. But LucasArts didn't develop them in house. I think they just choose poor developers, but they could have been on a small budget. I don't know. -
Those games are not condusive to the control scheme on an XBox. I'll grant you that. But that doesn't mean that XBox games have to be simple, stupid, or stripped down.

Do you mind if I ask what you're currently working on?

Xbox graphics are underrated
EnderAndrew replied to Ostkant's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Does the XBox version support 720p? I know KOTOR:1 supported 480p, and I was really hoping KOTOR:2 would push up to 720p. -
Is There Anyway To Put Your Robe Hood Up?????
EnderAndrew replied to darthrock's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
753 Mhz <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought it was 733 Mhz, but I could be wrong. And it's only got 64 megs of onboard memory, which I believe the GPU shares. -
Freezing, Glitches, & Broken Quests
EnderAndrew replied to Sophrosune's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just for the record, I've seen a lot of people complain about technical issues with ahem....backed-up copies of KOTOR on various X-Box technical forums. If this was intentional on Obsidian's part, then kudos to you. Piracy is bad enough, but stealing for a good, start-up RPG house is really bad form. -
Was the Xbox version a Christmas rush job?
EnderAndrew replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think the Christmas release may hurt KOTOR:2 a little initially. Everyone has after Christmas sales. People often give and/or buy a new console for Christmas, and then buy games in early Janurary. Releasing in early December means that KOTOR:2 goes directly up against Half Life 2, Halo 2 (currently humiliating all sales records), GTA:SA (sequel to the previously best selling console title of all time), Metal Gear Solid 3, and many more. -
PC version more "polished"?
EnderAndrew replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Rouge Squadron was fun for a bit, but no where near was X-Wing was. Oh, and I forget Starfighter, and Jedi Starfigher. They were a step in the right direction, but still not X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter. -
I haven't seen Alpha Centurai on a console, but I haven't seen La Pucelle Tactics, Gladius, Final Fantasy Tactics, Orge Tactics and the like on the PC either.

Have you downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers? Have you done proper maintenance on your PC to optimize your computer's performance? (Disabling Windows services, getting rid of spyware, tweaking Windows, running defrag, etc.)

PC version more "polished"?
EnderAndrew replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What? I've heard people bitch about LucasArts, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every single LA game I've bought, and never had problems with it running on my computer. To this day I've got Dark Forces, Full Throttle, Yoda Stories, X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight 2, and Jedi Knight 3 (I hate when you can't properly number/name sequels... it should be Dark Forces 3 and 4), Shadows of the Empire, Star Wars Power Battles, Episode 1, Episode 1 Racer, Rogue Squadron, Battle for Naboo, and Rogue Leader. (Probably a few other titles I left off). Most of those I have on the PC. I've never had problems with any of them, and I can still find patches for the older games when I reinstall them. Edit: Yep, I just checked, and I can still download patches for Dark Forces, Yoda Stories and X-Wing. -
Nope, they block c*ckpit. I played Morrowind on both the PC and the XBox. I preferred the PC version, because I wanted to get the expansions. With the XBox version, I could more quickly access what I wanted with a few button presses. On the PC, I generally had to pull up various menus, and use the mouse. I found navigation to actually be slower. Morrowind was everything it was promised to be. It's flaws are more based in the game being too large rather than being stripped down. Tons of side quests, tons of towns, tons of NPCs, etc. etc. The game does nothing to keep steering you along the main plot. The NPCs are dry. But these flaws have nothing to do with the XBox port. I just don't care for the conversation system they developed for Morrowind. KOTOR's interface is just as simple as NWN's interface. And again, I contend that KOTOR is a much more enjoyable, and much deeper game than NWN. NWN was written for the PC, and KOTOR for the console by the same company. That makes it hard to argue that Bioware simplified or stripped down the game for the console. And while some kids may play GTA, the game is designed with adults in mind. It features sex shops, relationships, and ultra-violence. Rockstar games could keep shipping out the same game, but each new installment has more complexity, and more to do. GTA:SA introduced RPG elements with stats and skills that need to progress, including respect and individual relationships in the game. Side missions include: Races Specific vehicle missions games inside games (old arcade style games) Taxi Missions Pimp Missions Ambulance Missions Fire Missions Vigalante Missions Pilot School Bike School Boat School Remote Control Missions Tagging Missions Finding hidden horeshoes Finding hidden oysters Dating Photo missions Rampages Unique jumps and stunts etc. etc. If I am to compare the latest PC RPG (Troika's Vampire: Bloodlines with first person combat) to GTA: SA, I'd have to say that GTA (as a pure console title) has just as many RPG elements, and is 10 times as complex. It's a sad statement, but just as true. The only thing that GTA: SA lacks to classify it as an RPG hybrid is character creation. Did I mention in GTA that you can customize tattoos, hair style, clothing and accessories?
