  1. Huh? Spreading fud, are we? It really doesn't matter to your OS if your processor has two cores "glued together" (C2D) or two cores on one die (X2). Also, if the game was having issues with the dual core processor, this would likely produce different results than the video going pot, in the OPs words. I still wait for results, but video problems occurring after a certain time in game are more often related to overheating or ram issues, probably driver problems. So if setting the core affinity doesn't help, check your temps during gameplay.
  2. Ohgr - Solow Unexpectedly accessible, compared to some of his other stuff or Skinny Puppy
  3. Decoded Feedback - Breathe Love them!
  4. Huh? Since when are human females named "Krezack"? Sounds so manly...
  5. Oh yes it does, especially if said dog is a nuclear threat and tells me it wants to eat my never existant babyz!
  6. Well, if Walsingham was talking about you, I was talking about you. A few things speak against it: He would probably have mentioned mathematics and biology as her fields of expertise and he would also probably have mentioned it if she was a man Anyway, I'm working today and familiarizing myself with web development. The very basics are new to me... Learning XHTML, CSS, PHP and stuff specific to my current job, yeah I love learning new things related to programming, even if they're only new to me.
  7. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Red Right Hand
  8. I don't know if there are ten games I played I'd call "top", but I'll try... In no particular order, though what comes to mind first is put first, so maybe there's an order still Planescape: Torment (no need or objective possibility to explain in short ) Baldur's Gate (getting me hooked up to DnD-CRPGs) Icewind Dale (most beautiful looking and probably sounding of the IE-games, kind of generic yet great narrative/narrator) Outcast (loved it at the time for variety, world and music, but don't remember too much of it nowadays, so perhaps it's only nostalgia) Vampire: Bloodlines (very intriguing, great moments, though not consistently) NWN2 (some of the best moments in CRPGs, like the trial and the fortress) + MotB (original, nicely demanding at times) Beyond good and Evil (original, cute yet serious) Disciples II (consistent cool art, good pacing and addictive) Baten Kaitos (original setting, cool story elements esp. in conjunction with baten kaitos origins) Zelda: Ocarina of Time (did almost everything right for me at the time) Others: Omicron: The Nomad Sould (see Outcast) IWD2 (for the rules and some areas) BG2 (for some of the art and certain quests) The Black Eye 3 (liked the setting, the fights and the music) Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic (spent and am spending hours with it) Warcraft 3 (render movies and parts of the story) Total Annihilation (being the first game bought from my own money, great music and strategies) The Witcher (beautiful areas, partly original) Thief Series (do I need reasons?) etc.
  9. But it might be contra-productive if you want to impress said physicist-pole dancer I got up at three o' clock in the afternoon today. Feeling quite relaxed now *yawns* There's not much work left to do, that's a weekend to love
  10. The pic is cool, but images in sigs suck
  11. Ayreon - The human equation Can't stop...
  12. screenshot?
  13. Hm, does it have something to do with pre-render-limits? I thought they were resticted in DX10, not 9? However, I may be totally confusing things
  14. I'll help you out with an argument: It is not that XP would be incapable of running more than two graphics-cards (or rather two gpus) as seen with the previous incarnation of quad-sli (2x 79x0GX2). It's an artificial limitation.
  15. Haha, same here For now, it's price/performance that matters... or rather, just price
  16. ASP - Nie mehr
  17. No, in Switzerland. Military service is mandatory for adult males, and the soldiers (except medics etc) are given a SIG SG 550 to take home with them. Ammunition, I just read it, has to be left at the arsenal since the beginning of this year, thanks to some controversy after some people were shot/commited suicide with the rifle, but is easily obtainable still. Apparently, most of the Swiss feel it's a tradition to keep that gun at home, just in case you have to shoot your wife, ahem, I mean, the enemy invaders... OK, this is quite off topic
  18. You clearly are more informed than I am, wanted to flame a little. Still, regarding the posession and use of a firearm as is a problem imo. And yes, I know that any man is potentially given a gun for free in my country. People here are thinking it a tradition to own a firearm, and are beginning to think it's a fundamental right to own one (for free, including ammunition). This bothers me greatly.
  19. A demanding audiophile would probably have to invest in a separate headphone amplifier, and would never consider such a thing as "surround headphones", I guess
  20. They're about the use of firearms, responsible or not. It's just a god-given right of any american to shoot anybody any time and never surrender their guns except from their cold dead hands, of which Mr. Heston now owns a pair Should be obvious why the NRA provokes aggressive reactions from people
  21. So he's dead. RIP, then, and enjoy it
  22. Hah, not bad at all
