  1. On a planet of only carnivores no one would eat trees.
  2. Ignorance is also natural. First off, natural doesn't equal good. Murder, theft, and rape are pretty natural. Also, homosexuality happens in nature among a good number of species. It's also pretty clear that the human body developed away from sex for purely breeding needs. Your example tends to fall apart as well. A world of all carnivores wouldn't survive either, is eating meat therefore unnatural?
  3. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Viconia Fall-from-Grace is an interesting example. I honestly think the romance was one sided, very little implied that she had interest in the nameless one. I found the Nameless One and the ghost of his ex to be quite touching, however. Anachronx has an interesting example of romantic interests as well. Fallout 2 had one of the worst 'romances' ever. My usual high charisma character is chatting with a girl and suddenly I'm making out with her. What? I actually can't think of that many games were romance is important. Anyone want to add to my list? Prince of Persia Planescape: Torment NeverWinter Nights Bulder's (sp?) Gate Anachronx KotOR **edit** "Titillation" What titillation though?
  4. Might be. When I got around to playing KotOR the lastest patch was already out.
  5. They're in the implementation phase; it's sort of a given that they've already written out the story. "Okay guys, start coding and modeling!" "What?" "Umm
  6. There we go, you are Jolee. They cryogenically froze you and put you on display because you're such a bad-ass. Personally, I think NPCs shouldn't let you take their lightsabers. That's a bit like a samurai letting you borrow his katana for a bit, to borrow Opus' metaphor.
  7. Ivan: " But she's blonde. How can you expect a blonde to be a master of military strategy and tactics?" *smacks you upside the head with a mackerel*
  8. I found the extra skills to be useful. Then again, I also put points into charisma so I might be playing a different game there.
  9. That's odd, mine never blasted people in the face, even when I let them do whatever they wanted. Did you make sure the equipped weapons had a proper range?
  10. Gorth: " Heck, I found it almost impossible to play a female Revan. Seriously, how are you supposed to know how to act as a woman ?!?" You mean it doesn't just come naturally? Seriously, given that the vast majority of non-RPG games feature male lead characters I've never had a problem in this regard. I think it's because I've stopped conceptualizing the avatar as my psychical form but see it as a handy extension of my will. " When Juhani started hitting on my female Revan, my jaw hit the space bar" Really, why? Nik bg: " if you want male/male romance, we, males, would like to see female/female romance' All is fair in love and war. " I don't think Lucas will allow homosexuality in his galaxy." KotOR had more sexual diversity than any other RPG. Female/female Human/cat-thing Human/tail-head thing Human/android Logian: "
  11. DemonKing: " I guess if your main relationship in life is with your computer then you might appreciate the ability to have romances on-screen but it just does nothing for me...I play computer games to do things I could never do IRL." That's a bit like suggesting that only people whose main relationship in life is with books or movies can appreciate romances in books and movies. I'm glad you're so enthusiastic about the aspects of games that you like but there's no need to insult those who enjoy other aspects.
  12. Isn't that the truth, Ivan? It was so refreshing for them to show not one man but an entire culture of real men who aren't afraid to show their desire for one another. That's why I'm certain they'll take it to the next level in the sequel. And, least anyone think I am sexist, I hope they include another lesbian romance as well. It's nice to know that in the future (past?) mankind will look beyond its petty differences and learn that love cats and humans is equal to non-bestial romance.
  13. ^ See, everyone loves gay romances. Even one-eyed people.
  14. Gay romances. I thought it was great that they included a gay character like Canderous in the first Knights of the Old Republic but I'm thinking The Sith Lords should include some guy on guy loving. I'm one of three women on this board so I'm confident that about one-third of female gamers would love this. Just make certain the NPC is a long-haired, tortured soul, like Sepheroth.
  15. Your first two sketches weren't as good as the last one but, yes, your style isn't to my tastes. It reminds me of an Image comic book, Youngblood maybe. I like more relaxed, naturalistic human figures. That said, your drawing show skill, they're just not my cup of tea.
  16. Someone played dark side...
  17. You become a master when you learn that you'll always be a student. Or, "The more I know, the more I realize there's so much I don't know."
  18. I just picked up Maya 5.0 today... I think I prefer your modeling to your sketches, Cain
  19. I used the dark-haired female with the split pony tail.
  20. Romance. Something like Prince of Persia...
  21. DemonKing: "...but frankly I don't play CRPGs to "get my pixels on" with in-game characters - I wish they'd leave that to the sad sods playing the Sims ." I've always wondered why everyone is mortified by the idea that people might be turned on by characters in a computer game. Especially as gaming companies, and most entertainment mediums, obviously don't always appeal to ascetical interests with their depiction of females. Lara Croft being the most well known example.
  22. I did have the boots of blinding speed. That helped a great deal with travel time. Yes, I'd have to say Morrowind is one of my favorite RPGs if not my favorite. After I finished with it I picked up NeverWinter Nights and hated it. I was so used to multiple plots, non-linier game design, and wide-open spaces that NWN felt no different from Diablo. It took me at least a year before I could appreciate it for its own sake. I think the only thing I didn't like about Morrowind was the aggressiveness of pesky creatures and the end of Tribunal. I changed both in the editor, though, so there was no problem.
  23. Morrowind was da bomb. It's contruction set was better than the Aurora Toolset, as well. The only thing I didn't like was the red sand. I don't mind running everywhere but running when you can't see past your sword tip is annoying.
