yep although K2's strong point was supposed to be no more of the 'only light or dark' but more gray. Failed completely to do that though and it was more 'only light or dark' than K1. EDIT: K1: 1. I'll do it for you. 2. What's in it for me? 3. You better come up with sth good to make it worth my while. 4. Sorry not interested. K2: 1. I'll do it for you and then become your slave. 2. Yes I'll do it but after that you'll become my slave and your family will die by my hand.

I played both and I must say that LS -> ok it's been cut but DS -> "but to loose so much?"
-
There are several reasons for the game being a whole lot better for LS play. 1. You ussually get 4 LS dialog options and one DS which ussually is "I'll kill you, then I'll kill your family and everyone of your friends though all you wanted is to know what time it is." 2. Donno how many of you noticed but the DS way of playing has many amateur-like made things in it and many inconsistencies (donno if there's a word like that but I hope you know what I mean ). When playing LS you get outassed by Mira to her poison room -> ok so the exile's dumb but in DS -> oh come on! you get shot with a dart and you can't even dodge it!??! What kind of a jedi are you anyway? Then comes another thing in DS play on Nar Shaddaa -> you get to level up Mira -> for what?? If all you do with her is go to Visquis in the damn space suit! Next comes the scene where either Hanharr or Mira meets Visquis - ok at LS she meets him, tells him that the exile's been owned by Goto but at DS? -> You see Hanharr getting pushed by Zezo (note that this happens at the entrance to the Jek-Jek-Tarr(sp?) tunnel and after that we get another demonstration of Kreia's power (oh yes! we never get tired of that one! ) the weird thing is -> how the hell did Hanharr get dumped to the middle of the pit again? Hmm... "Yeah we don't have time to do the DS version and it's late 2004! What are we gonna do!? Oh I know! Let's just modify the LS so we don't have to do all that much!" Those little things proving the above are seen also at Dantooine -> Mercenaries just glare at you , all Dopak sez is "I got nothing more to say to you" but ok I ain't mad about this one. The DS ending is just like the LS one -> your party doesn't change a bit, you go to Malachor, get the same lines as if you were a Jedi, you talk with Carth Onasi even if you're 100%DS!! You answer his damn questions though you really don't have time for that rubbish. When you get owned yet again by someone (we never get tired of this too (w00t) ) this time Kreia -> she doesn't tell you as much as when you play LS. You acctually don't find out too much about your special ability. So it is just me or the DS is so damn incomplete in this game?? It could be the fact that the Exile won't be a LS/DS variable in K3 so maybe that's why they didn't put much work into DS :/ PS I miss K1's neutral dialog options

Visas would end up toast after a round with Nihil lol

What Would You Change In Kotor?

"- Get rid of the yellow, silver, veridian, cyan and orange lightsaber crystals. It's BLUE or GREEN, dammit!" Err... no. But it's your opinion. I like the many colors in the game and I hope they won't think of your suggestion as a good idea when they'll be making K3 lol -
The "Kreia, are you Jedi or Sith" cutscene
Darth Kavar replied to Artem's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well for me it didn't mean that she's gonna be the main boss. Luckily on my first playthru I was too weak in LS to get to Ludo Kresh's Tomb and didn't see the thing that IMO REALLY would spoil that for me. It is obvious that first we see the past there, then the present and after that the future. The only thing which could make me wonder whether Kreia's gonna be a baddie was her blue saber there The Kreia-Sion-Nihil at Malachor cutscene made me believe though that that's gonna be the place of the final battle but when I spoiled myself that there's gonna be Traya and Sion at the end I thought: 'Hey! It's probably Atris and Sion and you gotta fight them together at one time.' Too bad Sion turned out a whiner, Kreia an overpowered immitation of Palpy with all her 'there are techniques in the force against which there is no defense' and Atris someone whom you either kill easily or leave behind without feeling like anything important just took place. -
As I told already on Knights2End forums the only part I didn't like was where the exile's getting kicked again (Atris leaves you for dead) like we don't have enough sittuations where you can just point at the exile saying out loud "you're weak!". I'm acctually doing some scripting to get rid of all those sittuations when playing DS but that's another story NEways besides that I really would prefer this script much more than the original. Would be nice to see the 2 poster characters fight eachother that way K2's adverts wouldn't be just like putting Master Dorak and Belaya as the poster characters in K1 lol. Another thing I'd change is Atris' red lightsaber. She should be using my old one or at least that's how I think It'd be cool. OK I admit that bringing Atris to the Ravager command deck could kinda decrease Visas' importance in the whole event (and we wouldn't want that) but oh well -> there's not too many events left for second-class-powerful game characters if so many things are reserved for Kreia in K2. BTW this whole change of script would make the whole 'Atris' deadly electrifying holocrons' gay moment vanish completely and that would be good! (OK let's hope Kreia can't bring force lightning out of Nihilus-Slaves (w00t) )

I guess someone got Adana mixed up with Aaida...

Remember the Kreia/Kae thread?
Darth Kavar replied to phiont's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia/Kae thread?? Ehrr... there never was a Kreia/Kae thread! (w00t) Go back to your other posts. Nothing more to discuss here. (dammit... kotor 3 aint even 50%complete and we already get spoilers from it j/k :D ) -
Bored so who did you hate the most from both KotOR
Darth Kavar replied to Kalfear's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Disliked: - Exile (OK maybe not him but the way they made him a pushover) - Kreia (ruined the whole game if someone wants to know more why then I've posted it here http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...ic=34113&st=15) - Sion (after Korriban that is -> damn whiner and a poor example of a Sith Lord) - the judge on Manaan which called me an "it" (ok but in K1 you could make everyone suffer who pissed you off -> here you make his fishy friends suffer by poisoning the kolto and god knows how many selkath died because of that) - Mira - arrogant and you can't do a half rotten lemon about it - G0T0 - suprisingly also arrogant and also from Nar Shaddaa. And you all know too well why I hate him. -> I'm still trying to figure out a way to replace G0T0 with Mira at DS play but without leaving any bugs (setting global variables to as I would have Hanharr and Mira's dead to choose an ending) - I know that they'll both say that the other one's dead but it's better than having that piece of scrap float around my ship. Liked: Oh I liked so many characters that I donno where to start. Really - it's mostly because they had their original behaviour. Yes I even liked Vrook - or I could say that I liked hating him. The game needs such characters which piss you off a little with their words but can't beat you in combat -
What Would You Change In Kotor?
Darth Kavar replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In K1 I'd change... NOTHING! Really -> I like it the way it is. For me there's really nothing to argue about. In K2: - for Gsakes the Exile's getting too much kicked for a main character (OK ok it can be when I'm LS but I find it stupid that I get kicked every 2 seconds after I planned to be a DS manipulator). -> Hmm we want Mira to be powerful... so we must find ourselves a target which will be owned by her... OH! I know! Let's do it to the Exile!! -> Hmm we want to show how much Goto's a boss... I know! Let's kick the Exile again! -> Kreia must show her power (like we never get bored of it) but there are not Jedi Masters left... hmm... whom to be her drain life target... I know! -> The Exile!! -> Hmm we want more of Kreia's super powers! (yipee!) hmm... what to do... I know! - let's make a bunch of Sith Holocrons fry someones arse! And the winner is... the Exile AGAIN!! (no offense but if they wanted it so specially then at least they should have added 4 more death animations cuz this got kinda boring) - KREIA - she ruined the whole game. - you must do what Kreia says - you can never make Kreia feel stupid about anything dumb she said (and believe me she does) - you can't really justify why you did a DS/LS thing when she starts her great-mentor gibberish after you've done something - to make Kreia look powerful they made 3 jedi masters fall withing a single zap which and therefore made Nihilus not look so special any longer with his 'one zap one kill of anything' ability) - Sion's a damn whiner about Kreia ("why did she choose you? not me? whyyyyy!!! <cries> I want my mommy to love me!" -> simply pathetic) - NO GRAY OPTIONS!!! In K1 if you encountered a stupid DS answer you could always choose it. Now in K2 all you can say else is "I love puppies" And that's about it. Only 3 things but they really are annoying. -
I understood was that the Exile was a wound in the force (a void creating force bonds and drains force from others which if I understand right could mean that he can get more power the more force bonds he creates and if someone of this bond dies it creates another wound and so on and that would create more and more wounds making the force vanish). (yeah I know -> Kreia could do a drain life on me but it probably means she used another Ancient Technique against which there is no defense and makes K2 look like DBZ) The bigger problem for me was the whole echo thing because it was very complicated plus they didn't even try to explain it the MatrixII-Architect-Wise way. They just used the same word all over again. Like Tobin, Zez-Kai-Ell, Visas, the Handmaiden and Kreia all used some telepathic-conspiracy to use the same words to explain the echo thing. (yeah sth like "real ugly, real quick" by Mira and shortly after Atton says the same thing though they were about 300m from eachother and in different sittuations) "Malachor echoes within the Exile" what the hell does that mean? That I have a DS power ping-ponging inside me or that I've created some weird nostalgia to Malachor?
-
The only way for her to get to Lootra is to kill the guards. Saquesh won't want to talk about the problem, so won't the guards want to listen. If you kill the guards there should be a dialog option available to tell Aaida - sth like "the guards have been dealt with. you can leave thru the main entrance".

your favorite qoute in KOTOR II
Darth Kavar replied to Sargoth's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well I first thought that you mean 'funniest quote' but the most "duuuh!?!!"-like quote I found was: (about Nihilus) Exile: He is no longer a man? Kreia: One cannot have power of that magnitude that her master possesses and still think and perceive the universe as we do, as most of us do. ...(Later on)... Exile: How can anyone have that kind of power? Kreia: Power? Do you think so? You would be wrong. There is no strength in the hunger he possesses... and the will behind his power is a primal thing. Yeah yeah but it was just another shot at 'you have still much to learn exile!' which fell short. These tries on making Kreia smart and Exile dumb are one of the top 3 thing which annoyed me most in K2. -
I hated it at first because it was like the first time I played an RPG and I fixed my character totally and realising that I'm not acctually the character I wanted to be made me kinda sick :/ I've given up on K2 for about half a year but then when I knew it my characters were made to fit the whole 'he is Revan' thing. My second K2 playthru was as DS manipulator Revan and I liked it so much that I played it a second time lately. [useless opinions] Then after a few more playthru's I've realised that being Revan in K1 aint so bad and doesn't limit the character. I understood it even more after playing the Exile in K2. Believe me -> there's more Revans you can play in K1 than Exiles in K2. Revan musn't be manipulated the whole game, musn't give dumb-darkside or lightside answers - he can choose the neutrals which existed in K1. Revan can make all those who bought him pain suffer twice as much. Revan is defined by his decisions - not Kreia's decisions. [/useless opinions]
-
BTW anybody else found the overuse of the word 'echo' in K2 annoying?
-
IMO the Normal option is good -> you don't have to pack 20 stims into yourself to win a fight but it makes things easier. If they want to make K3 tougher I hope that they leave Normal as it was and add a Super-Difficult for all you who think it's too easy. I want my Normal to stay the way it is EDIT: OK I meant make Hard harder but leave Normal as it is
-
It's called game combat mechanics I believe. Exile could go up to lvl 50 but Revan was limited to 20. However if you like to look at things this way -> if Revan or doing something exhausting then he's probably already lvl 60 by now :D
-
But Revan could send anyone to beat the crap out of the exile. Or was it just the 'not jedi above jedi' philosophy given in K2
-
I finally finished the game for the first time.
Darth Kavar replied to radiohead3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Acctually you get a sword pretty quickly so I never bothered with the Plasma Torch too long I say Peragus was nice. At least it was the Exile who decided what next move to make there not Kreia. Peragus was well made if you ask me - lots of worker/admin logs in the terminals there. Most of the journals you found were also on Peragus so I think that I can assume that this part of the game was done with care and had very many details and I like it when such small details are added into RPG's (like in K1 about the Great Hunt and other things - funny fact is that all those details made me not wonder why everyone's talking about Revan so much! it's because many things said in K1 didn't have much to do with the main story). -
I found Mission's brother!!
Darth Kavar replied to Arathorn_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Donno if it's just me or does Kavar's voice sound extremely similar to Master Uthar in K1? -
Yeah the DS options do cut the dialouge alot but in K1 you could always choose the neutral option if the DS option didn't fit your needs. In K2 however the only other options that the DS one were Lightside.
-
Well it happened to many ppl with the Carth holo (when you choose Revan as LS female). It's just a bug. Donno if it has worse consequences though. I say it's just a minor bug and you should just ignore the Bastila holo at your boarding ramp
-
First neutral-Lightside (though it didn't fit at all with K1's mega revelation) then DS (though I regret always playing DS already at second) and then LS saint. So if K3 comes out I'll play it: 1. LS Luke type (Sentinel most probably) 2. Gray (with a slight advantage of Light) 3. DS Anakin type ("they're jealous of my power n stuff" ) 4. 100%LS Monk ("jedi are not allowed for such attachments") 5. DS Manipulator Though I suspect that some of these won't work out well cuz it depends on what the story allows you to be. In K1 because of you not starting as a Jedi I also had the chance to play a Gray Soldier-Type blaster Jedi which was very fun to play as.
-
OK I maybe exaggerated with the "many ways" cuz there aren't too many LS ways you can think of exept for monk-side, lightside with emotions (luke skywalker type), for The Republic type or as some would name it gray-side (the one where you get DS points for doing sth for good but in an evil way like killing Bendak in K1. Kinda like you doing the quick and easy path to good being achieved). My whole point was that the DS manipulator is just not working all that well in K2 when you must do some stupid things, must get manipulated, must be outsmarted many times in the game.
