"Ok your blatantly a ignorant Console user who has as much technical knowledge of systems as an ignoramus has on quantum physics!" That's hilarious! I own one console, and I have a PC. I also am more likely to buy, and play PC games than console. I haven't even bothered to buy KOTOR2 yet because I'd rather have it on PC (plus I don't have anx-box). "You bring up the point of variations in the PC systems, drivers, cards everything will make the game have more chances of bugs. No. This will mean that the game on the back will have works with : <insert card names here>. " Hahahaha. You actually beleive the back of the box? What a gullible person you are. Sorry; but anyone with half a brain knows that PC games are more often than not easily buggier than console games. That's a hard core fact. The reasons for that is simple. The number of combinations that need to be tested, PCs are a lot more complicated than just a simple gaming machine, etc. "I think you will find that there are alot of games out there 100% bug free... the only console games that ive seen that are bug free are = 0." Hahaha. You jokin' right? PC games are 100% bug free? Hahaha. No console gamea are bug free? Hahaha. R00fles! You have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that you know nothing about computers - be it a PC or console. Have fun.

"With PC the Patches immprove on the state of these bugs to nothing..." This proves that you know less about programming PC games than I do. I ahve yet to see one PC game be completely bug free even after multiple patches. "if you ever get into the programming business then you will learn when working on a console game then if you make a mistake...the mistake stays there no matter what and even if it means the game can only be completed 50% of the time due to crashes thats acceptable..." And, you can't read. This is exactly what i posted. However, bugs that bad don't even come close to happening at the rate it does for PC games. Nice try though. "and also you didnt answer his question...you merely gave your opinion..." I only answer intelligent questions. I gave an opinion as that's all he gave as well. When he shares facts about how much more stable PC games are compared to console games than I'll return the favour.

"Because consoles are unable to be patched, so when there is a bug, it is fatal. Of course, nobody told this to Obsidian evidently from the amount of problems that KotoR2 has." True; but it's a rarity or almost an unique situation for a console to have bugs of that magnittude. "Incidently, E.T. (As an example)." Exception that proves the rule. "Game. Set. Match." Yup. You proved my point. By and large, PC games are buggier than console games. That's a fact that anyone who even tries to be reasonable can see. The fact that PC players EXPECT at least a patch or two for their games proves this while even one bug in a console game can make a console gamer go mad says a lot because other than little twirks; consoles very rarely have bugs comparitively spekaing even after a PC game gets patches. It's the Law of Logistical Mathematics as expalined above. You test for one console combination. An x-box is an x-box. Period. With a PC; the combinations are so avried that even with pretty good testing you can mess them. Just wat. Even though x-boxers are complaining about bug problems; the bug problem here will be shallow comapred to the PC version. Just the way life works.

PC version more "polished"?
Volourn replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The PC version will most likely be buggier at reelase simply because of the various combinations that need to be tested and likely will be missed. But, at least it'll get patches (we hope) so even it out a bit. -
"PC versions are 99% of the time less buggy than the console counterparts and if you have evidence to the contrary post it otherwise, shut up." The proof is the number of patches usually needed for PC games. I have NEVER played a console game that needed a patch. I have played tons of PC games that do. "There are just some stupid members who want to start flame wars A.K.A. Volourn so can we just end this pointless argument." The only people who want a flame wr in this thread are those who call others stupid and tell them to shut up unprovoked. Look in the mirror before whining about others. "We can always get patches" true. that's an advantage of a PC. The disadvantage, however, is that PC games tend to be much buggier than console games. "And refering to the slow down during battles during the last game... this also has been explained during the thread..." Irrelevant. The point isn't that the x-box has no bugs; the point is that chances are the PC version will have more bugs simply because it is a PC. Your rudeness, flaming, and trolling aside; it's a known fatc that PC games tend to be buggier because when they are tested pre release there are SO MANY different combinations it's a lot easier for the testers to miss bugs comapred to a console because a console only has one combination of aprts to check basically while a PC has almost an unlimited number. WOSERS! It's only logical to figure that PC games are buggier which has been proven in practcie as well. Keep up the crying; it won't change the fact that the PC version will be buggier than the x-box version. The good news is the PCers will be able to look forward to possible patches.

For those who have finished the game; what level do you end at? 20? 30? Higher? This will help us all plan our characters appropriately and not puke as much when we actually see the quick level ups in game. Thank you for your co-operation in being guinea pigs.

Why are PC games bragging here? That is gonna bite them in the butt later on. The PC version will be buggier than the x-box version. It only makes sense since there are so many more things that can go wrong.

List of areas + designers?
Volourn replied to Aaron Contreras's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"Each area is precisely long enough to keep me up just an hour past my bedtime." I'm tellin' your mommy on you! -
The battles are likely balanced for 3 characters I would wager. That's why. They give you an option to play with just one as it's a RPG and they give you ya chance to role-play a 'lone wolf' type if you so wish. Nothing wrong with that. As for the diffculty level. no matter how ahrd or easy a agme may be I always play on the pre set setting simply because that's what the game is intended. The others are artificial because they do silly stuff like 25% more or less damage to the PC. I find that kinda stuff weak way to make a game tougher or easier. IMO of course.
-
"And whoever says it's easy, change your difficulty, and play solo.. lol....." Why? The game is menat to be played with 3 characters in active aprty and on 'normal' setting. Anything other than that is artifical.

Perhaps. But, it's Spikes Game of the Year Awards; not Gamerankings' Game of the Year Awards. I never said I'd have given Madden 2004 the award (I'd have given it to KOTOR myself); but I can see why Madden 2004 could win it.
-
"In case you didn't know nothing less than 80 is good." Really? Tell that to others? i RATED nwn oc 75% and am rumoured to be a NWN fanboy. And, no, you are wrong. 75 is good. Only if youa re so skewered where only 80+ is considered "good" do you have no clue. 1up is a great review site. Just as good as most others to be sure. "since last year Madden 2004 won game of the year." Madden 2004 is a great game. It's a worthy winner.

lol you can look like Leia in jabba palace!!

"funny how that leia looking pc managed to sneak in and see a crime lord whilst holding a lightsaber" Umm.. Who says she snuck in? Mayhaps she was invited? -
"There is no good reason why a group of people who fancy themselves RPGers (ie. Bioware, Obsidian) would leave this information out of the documentation." There is no good reasons that someone who believes they know the facts would not know that the dveloper ultimately has very little say in how a manual is laid out. Next.

"amatuerish not juvenile." Either way it is inconsistent with you've said before. Then again, you are consistent in your inconsistency so don't let that stop you.

Hahaha. This threa dis hialrious. Both sides should be ahsamed of thesmelves. 1. The thread starter is obviously a nut. 2. Anyone who says 'trust me' when it comes to reviewing a game should not be trusted AT ALL. 3. Hades says the writing was 'juvenile' yet that same writing has earned great props from him in the past and got the game a nearly 90% rating in his review. Therefore, his opinion doesn't count as it simply doesn't make sense.

"they are fruads and the reviwers put down the game of the year Star Wars KOTOR 2 TSL" No, they didn't. they gave a lot of praises to the game. Look past the silly score. I mean, OMG, they didn't give it a 9. Boo hoo! Theya re a solid site as good as any other. Theya ren't my fave site though; but I might vote FOR them just to spite all the whiners on this board.

"enjoy those frame rate drops matey! i will keep myself busy with vampire:bloodlines, lotr:battle for middle earth, half life 2 and rome:total war.... " Wait a sec! You complain abot the x-box poor load times and frame rates then yoiu brag about Bl whose laod times are so slow I can run down town (which is a good 20-25 minutes) before it's done loading the nexta rea. And, the frame rates which are so jittery at times your characetr starts doing a dance! Ha! I'm sorry that just doesn't seem right. P.S. There is some exaggeration in this post.

Or c) He's not happy about the 'sameness" of the game and its his "tongue in cheek" way of complaining about it. Or d) He likes to confuse people. Or e) He likes to get people's hopes up for a 3rd KOTOR just toc rush their dreams to bits. See, whetehr you like the review or not; you gotta admit he knows how to include options!
-
What else would he mean by "working on a real follow up"? Remember, in that paragraph he's whining about how KOTOR2 is just an "expansion" not an actuals equel 'cause of the "sameness".
-
"Actually, as Volourn pointed out, the only time the review mentions Bioware is at the top of the screen. The review itself doesn't confuse Obsidian with Bioware. " Um.. Buzz. the reviewer does say in some silly quip that BIo is working on the sequel to the sequel. It's probably the only part of the review that irks me as well.
-
Solid review.

"I'm still waiting for one of the devs to tear into one of the reviewers. That'd be worth the price of admission seeing one of the devs go postal." Yeah, I'd like to but only if it was justified. While none of the reviews have been perfect; none of them would deserve a "ripping". "Volourn didn't know about the names at the bottom of the thread. *points and laughs* ya n00b." Heh. As my post count illustrates, I have better things to do with my time here on the baords than spying on others.
-
"Or maybe he just looked at the bottom of the page where it shows everyone browsing this thread." WOW! I did not know that. In all my time here I did not know that. thank you so very much. You are my saviour, Ghost for sharing that very valauble information. P.S. I'm not being sarcastic either. I did *not* know that. :"> "as much as i spy on you" I hope you liked me in my brown Krusty the Klown underwear. P.S.S. Ghostie, I did lie.
