Ravens running back Lewis sentenced to four months
Volourn replied to kumquatq3's topic in Way Off-Topic
It does when I'm given hard evidence. I have yet to see it proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the judge went 'easy" on Lewis because of his celebrity status. Give me proof, and I might believe. Until then, it's just some crybabies whining about how they never get the breaks. You are besmriching the judge's repuation (to all 4 of us reading this thread, r00fles!); but give 0 proof to back up your accusation. Keep trying. I need the entertainment. -
Nothing. Soemtiems music is playing in the background; but that's usually just a coincidence.

All that, and you have yet to prove it was his celebrity that got him off relatively easy. I'll continue waiting; but I wont be holding breath. Good luck. -
Patriots. I'd be shocked if the Eagles won. They aren't in the NFC anymore.

"Usually famous people can afford better lawyers, too. That might have something to do with it. " This probably does help. "Its true you don't have to be a celebrity to obtain this alternative level of justice, just to be able to afford the right level of representation" Gamje over. I win. Youa dmit you don't need to be a celebrity. Neitehr did I say that it was common practice for deals like this to be amde; but the point is that it DOES happen and you don't need to be a celebrity either. Dakoth: Prove to me that the judge's decision wa sbased on Lewis' celebrity status than maybe I'll believe you. -

"Well seeing as I was in jail for pocession of marijuana and they didn't try to get me with intent to distribute and because it didn't go across state lines they it wasn't a federal matter, it was a relatively small time deal. I choose to do the 100 days in jail so I wouldn't have to pay the state to put me on a years probation. Never did they extend me any such courtisies as to serve the time at my earliest convience. And we are not talking about anything like felony charges with the intent to distribute(brokering a cocaine deal is considered attempting to distribute) of one of the most addictive substances on the planet. A substance inwhich if a man on the street gets caught with a couple of grams is charged with a felony and if anything like the amount he was dealing with (kilos) would be put in prision for years. Volourn plain and simple, you know little about these things other then the name of the party involved, so why don't you go and make uninformed statements about other things then this."? I cna't speak for your situation; but I know fullw ell that the court will, if given a good reason, may be persuaded to allow one to server any jail time at a certain time. This has nothing to do with who it is. They being famous is not really an issue here unless you make it an issue. Last I checked, the fmaily members in question were/are not famous so i doubt they got the deal because of that. As for the fours months only thing; I cna't really disagree or agree with it sicne I'm not involved but the judge who made the decision explained why the decision was made the way it was. My main target was 'he got off easy 'cause he was famous'. That's bullocks and unless you can prove that the judge in question was somehow biased in Lewis' favour I simply won't buy it. Period. -
Bunch of crybabies. People wish some would be murdered just because he did a dance on some silly football field. Others think another is a horrible human being because he decided he no longer wanted to work a certain job for a certain company? Geez.. People. Get a hold of yourself. Think what you post through. This is why I hate fans. Fans think they OWN the players, and teams. NEWSFLASH: You do not. Theya re not your slaves. They are not your belongings. You also do not pay the players. The team owners do. Once you give your money to the team to watch the game (f you do); you are not paying the players' salary no more than I am paying the clerk in the grocery store their salary. meh. I hate fans. The most selfish, arrogant, evil creature on the planet. Disgusting. Anyways, carry on. "Philly by 9, the athletes win" Eh? Last I checked, NE are atheletes. And, much better ones than Philedelphia. The facts back this up. NE wins handily unless a miracle happen. Philedelphia is a great team. But, theya re not NE. And, until they prove they can win the big one (and, no, while beating Visc and the Falcons is good; winning the NFC impresses no no one espicially me). We shall see...

Poo doesn't mean what he's saying. He's just stirring up... poo. As for the drawings. They are good to look at. That is all.

"Really, Volo? An ordinary person can pick WHEN they want to go to jail? I had never heard of that. You learn somrthing neew every day, I guess." Not always. depends on the situation. Things to consider are the nature of the crime, length of sentence, the threat to society the represent (obviously no murderers get to do this). I've seen relatives (yes, I got jailbirds I'm related to :D) who were able to do this before with certain limits. -
My favorite game is D&D. My favorite setting is the FR (though I like mine too :D). I play other pnp games and settings; but that's my favorite. Yup.
-
Neverwinter Nights. With ease as it's the only one I play multi player except some console games with RL dinks.

"And just a side note, I find it hilarious that they're copying the CBC." Why is hilarious? A good diea is a good idea no matter wher eit comes from. Oh yeah, how dare those Evil Amerikans tm steal our Kanandain ideas. I mean, I guess this isn't where I should mention Kanadian Idol. R00fles!

You guys should actually know your stuff before whining. "Explaining the short sentence, the judge said the government didn't have a strong case and noted the only witness against Lewis was an informant with a lengthy criminal record. Evans said she was also giving Lewis ``credit for stepping up to the bar'' and admitting his guilt." That expalins the relatively short sentence. Also, 'normal people' DO often get to choose when they go to prison. This is often the case for those with short sentences. It's not unique to athletes and other celebrities. Don't make things up. Thanks. -
"Is that all?" I try to limit what games I keep on my computer. NWN is special though and pretty much has a gauranteed spot on it.. at least until NWN2 comes out if that one lives up to expectations.
-
NWN, KOTOR, and BL though I ahven't played KOTOR or BL in awhile.
-
Quit frankly, I don't think giving devs an extra month or two will fix the bug issue. Why? Simple. The devs will just use that time to add new content anyways.

Whatever you think of NWN, it's music is well-done

"can't believe that you didn't like IWD's soundtrack! " Hey, now. Read this part again: "IWD's music was solid" How do you go from me saying the IWD music was solid to me now liking it? Weird.. "Apologies, Volo" Please don't that. I'm the last person who can get away with accusing others of being harsh when I'm often really harsh myself more often than not. "As to the board rivalry, I prefer these boards to Bio's boards (in my experience, the Bio boards are more restrictive than the WotC boards, and that's saying quite a bit), " Never posted there. Only saw links to people discussingwhat happens whena dwarf rapes an orc or stupid crap like that. Not my key. I argue enough about D&D rules on PC D&D boards; the last thing i need is to partifipate on aboard dedicated to arguing about anal stuff like that as apr for the course. I do agree that BIO has less of a toelrance when it comes to flaming/trolling/etc. but with as many mmebers they have i can see why. Remember, technically, their rules really ar eno differerent than obsidian's. the only difference is that unlike Obsidian they will enforce their rules. (I'm glad Obsidian doesn't myself :D ). Thena agin, my posting style on the two baords is pretty much the same and if I can geta wya with posting in a rduish matter on BIO; almost anyone should. just don't cross a certain line. My biggest beef with BIo's baords is that they are relatively slow. Annoying indeed. -

"That's getting really old, Volourn, and I wish you'd stop." I wish a lot of things would happen; but alas they don't. "Though I disagree with your opinon that the NWN soundtrack is one of the best ever, that's just a matter of personal preference," That's fair. "I haven't even seen anyone call you that in quite a while." A. You aren't looking hard enough. B. The comment wasn't neccessarily directed at me eprsonally; but the absolutely superiorty of Obsidna baord members who are so much cooler than BIO board members. R00fles! "Sure, HotU was pretty good, but IMO it pales in comparison to the soundtracks that he did for the original Icewind Dale (the Kuldahar theme is one of my all-time favorites, with its haunting melodies)" IWD's music was solid; but to be honest outside of the final battle music; it was horribly unmemorable. I insatntly recognize NWN's music when I hear it - then again, I play the game a lot so heh; I'm used to it. <> "Dungeon Siege (I found the entire DS soundtrack to be inspiring)" Sadly, I didn't play DS long enough to row to appreciate its music; but from little I heard it was definitely alright. -
"not having more some kind of sticky announcing that NWN2 is being developed by Obsidian, or by having some kind of subtitle to the various NWN2 forums that says "Developed by Obsidian Entertainment";" Some thinsg to point out: On the NWN forum itself near the NWN2 logo itself you see the three logos for the 3 companies - only Obsidian has a 'developed by' over their name. They have listed all the Obsidian dev names on those boards as well. Finally, if you'd like a sticky; just make a thread requesting it or PM a mod - Jay Watamaniuk would be the best bet in that case.. Just some free pointers. Posting that here won't help. P.S. If you did do that and I didn't see it ignore me. LOL

Quite frankly, NWN's music is awesome. Very few games match it. FF8, Arcanum, and some of the IE music is about it. Madden 2005, and a few other games are also pretty good. For NWN, the dragon music, the various boss music, the desert music, and the ruins music are all top notch. The forest, city, and tavern music are okay. Not great and just there; but ok. Can't win 'em all though. But, whatever. I';m just a stupid BIoware NWN fanboy so my opinion doens't count on the cool and superior Obsidan boards. WOO HOO! -
