Which Licensed RPG as a CRPG?
Volourn replied to saintfrancisnudecenterfold's topic in Computer and Console
It can always use more. Anyways, as far as the ones listed goes, I'd have to go with GURPS and Rolemaster. -
Which Licensed RPG as a CRPG?
Volourn replied to saintfrancisnudecenterfold's topic in Computer and Console
D&D will always be the first choice. Poll or no poll. -
It's not the NHl's fault that the Leafs don't know how to play against Ottawa. Still, I agree that the new scheduling is far from ideal. To me, every team should play every other team twice a year then the exrat games cna then be used against divional opponetns any maybe some bonus ones against conference foes. But, the idea that one can wait years to play a particular team is silly.
-
And? We were disucsisng official campaigns, not time spent on one game. LOLLERS! So, you proved a point that wasn't being debated.
-
Plus, it's only been trakcing us for the last couple of weeks. I play this much NWN all the time. In fact, outside of playing certain games when they are released until i finish them, the vast majority of my gaming *is* NWN. If I had x-fire since NWN cam out, I'm sure I'd have THOUSANDS of hours of NWN played. Dunno, if that's bragworthy material though.

:D

No. But, then again, you'd know more thna me sicne you've played the OC more than I have. :D
-
Eh. NWN > all 2E games.
-
I found it worse than the first one. Pros - 3E rules, subraces, the collection of spells from the various IE games incluing its own, some underrated puzzles, a few cool quests, as close to a bugless game one cna hope for Cons - Boring story, unbelievable main villains (I felt no pity for them even though it was obvious you were meant to), easy combat, some overrated puzzles

"Never played IWD2 but did play the first and enjoyed it greatly. " Yeah, IWD was very good game for what it was. IWD was simply a fun game with its sahe of challenging battles that made sense. As for it story, i think its no better or worse than NWN's. It was a solid duo demon dynamic. I think the OC's main villainess had more depth and interesting aspects to her character that many miss.

I find negatvie ad campaigns silly. Nothing to worry over there. As for Kanada-US relations, I think many Kanadians including politicians should group up and stop being so childiish or arrogant. Contary to what Kanandians think, we're not 'better' than our Southern neighbours.
-
Heh. That's the thing with the NDP. I don't hate them. And, if theyw ere to somehow win the elction I certainly wouldn't cry about it; but they just don't have the pizazz to make me *beleive* in them. Tru about posisble future Harper scandals. It's just that, I'd feel off if I didn't vote for someone just because he *might* be corru[t in the future when his closest competition are known to be guilty. I await the day where I can vote Liberal again as, overall, the party is closer to my beliefs than Harper is though It, oo, beleive that too many Kanadians look down on the US to an almost fanatical degree. Mostly because of an inferioty complex since we lap up their culture and have basiclaly made it our own. Heh.
-
"I suppose, but I just don't want Harper to make us, to use your term Alanschu, a midget version of the U.S. In the end, I guess somekind of a friendship with them would be alright." Well.. In all fairness, in many ways Kanada is headed that way anyways in many aspects and not so in others. "Still not voting Conservative though, because I don't share Harper's beliefs." Fair enough. I also have some disagreemnt in some of his stance slike his anti gay marriage thing; but sadly, I much more opposed crooks being in office. And, the NDP reminds me of a heckler shouting as loud as possible just to be heard. Heh.

"I wonder if you actually played it. There was a known bug, that the developer admitted to, that deleted important system files when uninstalling the game. You wouldn't be able to start your computer after uninstalling the game. Odd how you were the only person that didn't seem affected by this." I heard about this bug. I installed than uninstalled the game with no problems. And, no, others didn't get hit by it either. Many did; but not everyone, and I evens eriosuly doubt the majority did. Like everything (much like the x-box 360 is a fire hazard hoopla) it got overhyped. OMG It erases your OS! oh nooossss!!! I'm not denying the bug exists as it obviously does.; but it didnb't effect everybody. As for 'not playing the game', heck, POR2 was the first game (sadly) that I bought the Collector's Edition for. Bad, bad, bad mistake when the extras are more wortwhile then the actual game... edit: that's why. I didn't use Norton at the time..
-
"won't vote Conservative, because if Harper gets into parliament he'll ban gay marriages, and kiss Bush's ass like there's no tomorrow." Rather that then stealing Kanandians' money like the Liberals have been PROVEN to have done. This Chicken Little of accusing the PC Party of extremism is silly, and is quite obviously fialing. It reeks of desperation. As for him 'kissing Bush'; it's better that than the hypocrisy of the Liberals when it comes to their (non) relationship with the US. R00fles!

Patches help, ya know. I finished the game even before or maybe jsut after (can't quite remember) the patch came out. Haven't played it since so I'm sure with the patches the game is more linent. Chances are those who aren't getting hit by bugs didn't buy it when it first came out. Except for Numbers U, who got the perfect copy. R00fles!

"With PoR2 out there, how can anyone compete for buggiest game ever?" I didn't get hit by too much (if nay) bugs for POR2. Then again, it didn't take me long to uninstall it simply because it was crappy. "Your experience is irrelevant. Your experience, your perspective of things isn't a universal truth. I had zero problems with BL the first time I played through. I suspected I hadn't experienced the Leopold crash, but I couldn't confirm it. Now I can. Slowdowns and poor performance are not bugs. That's just unoptimized code, and people with newer hardware don't experience them. Unoptimized code doesn't count as a bug. As I said before (and you obviously failed to understand, I'll try only monosyllabes next time), there have been examples of games where very serious bugs affected everyone, not just Volourn. Those games were much more buggier than BL, to the point that some of them were unplayable right out of the box." What's this I see? LOTs of crying by a crybaby. LOTS of people have complained about BL's bugs - both severity and number. And, oh, let's do some Pot. Kettle. Black. Just because yous eemingly had a completely unbuggy copy of Bl doens't mean others were as fortunate as you. All one has to do is look at the number of complaints about BL and take it into the account that it wans't exactl a bests eller. The game wa sbuggy. It was most definitely one of the buggiest games ever. Noty quite Daggerfall bad, but not far off either. Now, continue your whining. It's quite entertaining. " there have been examples of games where very serious bugs affected everyone" Really? The fact you think you can claim 'anyone' shows that you are making things up. as ther eis no way to confirm this. At all. Nice try though with your hyperbole.

"Which proves my point. There have been games that were buggy for everyone, with much more serious bugs than a memory leak or poor performance, if that can be considered a bug at all. BL was buggy, but it wasn't "one of the buggiest games ever". That's nonsense." No. It's one of the buggiest games evar. Lots of people had major problems with BL bugs. It wans't just one, or two. And, besides, I don't care if you had absolutely no problems with it. MInmy epxeirence - and, yes, I've tried games like DF - it very much is one of the buggiets games ever. I had tp fight with the game to finish it, and no, it's not my computer. Crashes, slowdowns (ooo the slowdowns), and various bugs all made the gaming experience worse than it should have been. Even FO2's bugs wer enowher eenar as bad. In fcat, FO2 had one notable annoying bug. R00fles!

"NWN is a single character adventure hack with an awful campaign and awesome mods." No. Ok campaign with more as much if not more role-playing than BG2. And, definitely more than BG1. Most mods are not so good, many are good, and a few are great. Also, NWN is not quite a single character. It's a single PC + party just like BG. Of course, in the OC and SOU it's 1 npc. In HOTU, it's two.
-
BL is buggy. Plain, and simple. It's one of the buggiets games ever. It's also a pretty good agme without the bugs. From crashes to slowdowns to other silly bugs it has it all. And, every single bug is 100% Troika's fault. WOO HOO! As for WOTC, they're cool.

I've been Liberal all my live; but it's most definitely Conservative time. No way am I supporting the Official Party of Crooks tm. Those who think the Conservatives are some extremists who will make a police state are just using lazy scare tatics in order to try to keep the pathetic Liberals from holding on to power. The NDP are a bunch of wussies so no vote for them.
-
Every rule needed to have a non combat oriented D&D campaign is already included.
-
It simply easn't fun. It wans't challenging for the most part, the story was boring, and the two main villains didn't feel beleiveable to me. Their sob story made me laugh not feel for them. I did like the use of 3E rules as it was done rather well. Choice of subraces was cool too. Other than that, meh. It's the only IE game that I couldn't be bothered to finish.

NWN1 Flashback: Non-Hall of Fame Recommendations
Volourn replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
I haven't played an actual mod in awhile. Most of my NWN time now is spent on my module or a PW. It's a pretty good Action PW known as Underdark Adventures: 66.108.230.68:5121 Good stuff. -
Can't we all get all just get along? Of course, I wans't Mr. Nice to Rhomal earlier in the thread; but still.... geez.. this should be a dead issue. Rhomal is in love with Obsidian and NWN2. Any game that is even semi competition with them is the enemy that must be crushed. "I think you have an incomplete sentence in there. What about no matter how good NWN2 is..." Sloppy grammar and phrasing asdide, I meant to say that no matter how good NWN2 is it's 'just' a sequel to a BIO game. And, since Rhomal hates BIO with a passion that irks him to no end. "have yet to write a half decent story since BG2" False. Even the OC is more than a 'half decent' story. SOU is borderline though. "certainly dont wish them ill will, but I frankly dont think they have the skill or backgroud to deliver anything more then a midrange game." As Arkan points out, all companies gotta start somewhere? BIO wasn't always a jauggernaut. Heck, their first game sold about 300k copies and at that time it was considered a good success for them. Heck, JE had sold 600k+ copies in about 6 months and a few silly goofs try to claim it a s failure. Obsidian is only known because of some loose ties they have with a dead company (yes, folks, outside of Obsidian's founders the number of ex BISers working for Obsidian isn';t that big of a percentage and it'll get smaller the bigger they grow). "Not to shift gears here too much, Volo and a few others mentioned the Witcher as a competitor to NWN2" I don't think they're competitors in the traditional sense; but since they both use upgraded Aurora engines; they'll be comapred in that way. P.S. I don't hate Rhomal; but there's no doubt he has a huge bias towards Obsidian. Nothing really wrong with that except he simply won't admit it.
