The lack of pre buffing is silly, illogical, evil, disgusting, unfun, hilarious, weak, and cowardly.

"Yeh trap/lock XP is dumb." No. It makes sense to be rewarded for using skills. The problem is the mechanic skill is rewarded way more than other skills. I'd lower the xp you get from it. "I never felt like returning to a place just to disarm traps - the exp is extremely minimal for doing so, and the game currently gives you a bit too much exp which can lead to reaching the exp cap in act 2. You're not missing much if you don't disarm every trap and pick every lock. Doing so will just make you reach the cap a tiny bit faster." This is true later on when the xp comes fast in mid levels but early every bit of xp counts - see the first puzzle trap. I removed all those even though logically it was silly and unneccessary since the trap is so avoidable.

"Most fights can be avoided, one way or another." By running like a coward, not exploring (what kind of adventurer are you!), sucking up in dialogue. Sorry, but this is a combat extensive game (as promised). Trying to pretend it isn't is ignoring the obvious. 90% of encounters not in town are insta hostile. Heck, even in town there's areas with insta hostiles. L0L Fighting is as forced as it is in 99% of RPGs. Nothing wrong with that but let's be honest about it.

"It's to de-incentivise fighting." Which is asainine considering forced fighting is everywhere (not complaining just a fact). But, you get xp for every single area you enter including all 3 floors of a rather empty boring inn. L0L \The xp has its strengths but it's not as good as it could be due to illogically. That said, in the end, it doesn't really matter because the game gives out xp like candy anyways. I am half way to max level and i know i cna't be done half the game by now. L0L BL, WL2, DOS, and SRR all do xp better than PE. True story. (that's not to say some of PE's xp system isn't solid as some of it is good but overall meh).

The best thing about PE wizards is th similaerities they have with D&D. Too bad their actual spells are lacklustre and one dimensional with very little creativity.

No random encounters while travelling is VERY dissapointing. This could have been used for various interesting starts to question, tough party encounters, travelling merchants with unique equiopment, etc., etc. This kind of stuff is awesome with games like FO/BG series, NWN, and DA all using them to various sweet effects.

Obsidian doesn't really care about us 'hardcore' players any more than BIO or other companies. They have our money. They don't need our approval. You can't offend anyone except gamers hence nonsense like grognard, and other nasty insulting nonsense comes out of their words. Oh well. 'Tis is life.

People who hate on resting mechnaics are not real adventurers. Resting is when you bond with your fellow adventurers and the longer you go without the need to rest shows how truly awesomesauce you are as an adventurer. As a DM, you would never be able to 'rest' in a middle of a dungeon a la spam and if you left (if that was a choice) you'd probably have some surprises waiting when you return (new surprise traps more dezines if logical ie. necro raising more dead), other adevnturers sneaking in when you leave, etc., etc. Maybe even the boss (if there is one) actually waiting to ambush you right at the entrance when you return. Resting more than once or twice in a one day period is illogical, unfun, uncouth, and epic fail.

All through KS there was a bunch of 'can i sols this game pretty please." BG series was made with party of 6 in mind. They may have told you you had a choice Firedorn but you really didn't. That limerick of yours was being changed no matter what once the ****storm started. This is just a way for them to save face. The decision to make the limerick change was made the moment Sawyer reacted to it on twitter.
