  1. Of course it will. You notice that was never mentioned previously. I've been saying this all along over the police violence hoopla. It has very little (if anything) to do with race but about power, control, and slavery. Police are given way too much rope and have forgot they are here to protect and serve not abuse and assault.
  2. That noise is annoying. I'd rather be deaf than hear it again. <> Kudos to him though for living his life.
  3. "My vanilla thief was insanely overpowered in Bg2. Didn't have to fight Irenicus. Literally didn't have to fight him because he died from my traps instantly. Twice. First at the tree of life, then again in Hell. Why would anyone see thieves as underpowered in BG2 when you can effortlessly break the game with them? It boggles the mind." My thief had an ac of around -20ish, was able to use 9th level scrolls, had a thaco in the minuses, was capable of doing mondo damage, etc., etc. Weak? I think not.
  4. "Gromnir is right, you cant compare PoE with BG2+ToB. And its also wrong to compare BG1+TotSc with PoE" Yes, you can. As long as you are honest when comparing them and understand the times and situations of when both games were made. For example, I could say that PE's characters have more dialogue and are 'deeper' (but not enccessarily more interesting) than BG's but I would understand that makes sense since when BG1 was made the NPCs were meant to be nothing more than extra bodies with one or two 'quirks' to 'hook' the player. Expectations for joinable npcs has advanced and become way more sophisticated as the years have gone by.
  5. "It was named by Gail Simone in reference to Kyle Raynor's(Green Lantern) girlfriend being killed and left in the refridgerator for him to find. She felt female supporting characters were misproportionately killed off violently to give male characters motivation to fight the villain as opposed to male characters. This was a good point as Uncle Ben and Jason Todd are the only examples of this I can think of. It has been adopted by SJWs however to mean any time a female character is killed." 1. There's certainly more examples of male characters dying to give the protaginist dram/motivation than just those two. How many times in cop movies does one of the cops have a former partner who is murdered and the entire plot is centered around that. Beverly Hills Cop 1 was built around that entire premise. Same with father dies/is killed, and son (or even duaghter) tries to find out who killed them. So, in essence, the reference is basically bullcrap. 2. People don't care if males die. Because mena re just sperm and cash despensers. When a guy dies/is killed most people just shrug (unless for SJWs reasons). It's why men have the highest rate of sucide but nobody cares about because they're just men. *shrug*
  6. "In that sense PoE is low fantasy, meaning that there are gritty undertones, as opposed to cotton candy like the Faerun world setting." That's not what low fantasy is. Low fantasy is less magic, less mystical. A low fantasy would be a game set in a setting where magic isn't huge or is in background. Teh Faerun world setting is no less 'gritty' than PE. PE is nowhere near gritty. You should actually do research on FR/Faerun before you continue your ignorant babble. "It would help the credibility of the relentless critics if they could at least keep their attacks on the game straight." \ Not every critic dislikes the game for the same reasons. Some may hate the combat somemay hate the story. Just like people who like the game may like it for different reasons. OMG! People can like/dislike the same game for different reasons. btw, I like the game. I'm not a hater. OMG! You can like a game and still criticize it. besides, I don't think the fact that PE is high fantasy is a negative anyways. High Fantasy is friggin' awesome. \ "walls of negativity." SJW detected. "walls of negativity." TRIGGERED! "brand of toxic people" SJW detected. "brand of toxic people" TRIGGERED. "Nonsense. There is a brand of toxic people whose entire purpose is to run things down. They hate every aspect of a game, they mock and attack anyone who likes it, and they flood boards with walls of negativity. Not all criticism is constructive or right. And whenever they're called on their approach they resort to some BS claim about how they're just trying to make the game better. The people who obviously hate this game so much want it to fail, they want to shut down anyone who disagrees with them, and the negative feedback can be nothing more than misguided sour grapes."
  7. "a hardcore DnD-style RPG" You think this is hardcore? L0L
  8. "Okay, cause see, I thought a roleplaying game was a game where you play a role." Super Mario.
  9. "Why is that some people (hey, Luckmann!) fixated on mr. Sawyer as the Ultimate Enemy Of All Things Breathing so much? I mean, is there some particular comprehensible reason for it or it's just, like, irrational?" More like because Obsidian games would be better without Sawyer's influence. He hates role-playing, chocies, and freedom. everything must ebt he same, act the same, be balanced he same. Even then, he fails because PE isn't even balanced. L0L \Not that he is the worst designer ever as he has good dieas too but he is way overrated. This is evidenced by the fact that he erased a lot of work from an Obsidian writer/designher who does awesome stuff. "Regarding him hiding, nonsense, there were plenty of people who supported him, probably more than who didn't." The forums were heavily against changing the limerick at all. "RPG Codex (which hates basically everything except BG2 and maybe Torment)" You obviously don't know much about the Codex. \
  10. It's all about power, control, slavery, and nazism.
  11. "I don't want to play a game, make progress, only to hit a wall that says "Ha Ha! You suck for wanting to use a sword! Start over with a mage!" That is not my idea of fun." What game does this? None I've played. "As far as I am concerned, all classes should be fun to play. Any limitation of a class should be a very careful and deliberate decision." All DnD classes ARE fun to play. "Further, someone who fights for a living would presumably use the best tools and techniques for the job - including magic. Be it through gear or technique, eschewing magic in a setting that has magic is unrealistic. Applications of magic would be dependent on the role. A swordsman would use magic that can be cast during melee without impeding their flow, though limited in scope. Archers may very much like to see in the dark, a fell wind guiding their arrows into the opposition's vitals. Rogues blending into the scenery, backstabbing a foe...whose screams never reach her comrades, due to a veil of silence." If everyone uses it it is no longer magic. What you describe is a bunch of magic users using magic in different ways. You must enjoy boring where everyone is the same. LMAO
  12. "a "low magicish" campaign" Except PE isn't low magiic(ish). Not even close. It's way more high magic than BG1. And, I'm sure the sequel will be even more high magic than BG2 if it goes on its course. This was all an attempt for 'balance'. Of coruse, spellcasters are still more dangerous than non spellcasters in PE. So, even the 'balancing attempt' failed.
  13. . " Having magicians completely obsolete other classes isn't fun, ultimately limiting the resilience of a ruleset and weakens the setting." Yeah, because the DnD ruleset hasn't been resilient. LMAO And, its settings are weak. L0L PST L0L
  14. "True, but it does come with its own problems though. In dnd at later levels we have to accept that the reason why magic users can do all the things they can do is "because magic" whereas the nonmagic classes that try to do u believeable stuff are pushed down because "without magic, ur judged by logic". Magic users in dnd eventually defy and reshape reality and logic to their whims "because of magic" but if u are playing a non magic class ur left in the dust because ur class is bound by "realistic" expectations of what would happen in real life. What they are trying to pull is that magic "doesn't defy or define logic" but is subjected to logic and thru scientific means nonmagic users are able to step up and sometimes at least reach the plateau that magic users are on through science. IMHO I like it and wanna see where it goes because I have a feeling that magic won't stagnate but will evolve into something more to combat and try itself against what science has and will create. But it's all preference and a lot of people may not like that against what magic was in other games." Except there is nothing 'logical' about PE magic. It works liek it does just because of magic... oops... 'souls'. \ \Anyways, people whining that magic > non magic in games are crybabies. I say GOOD. Magic should be more powerful than a sword. LMAO
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
  16. Yup. And, it's not just white woman who say that. Chris Rock complained about it. It really is some scary stuff. Yet, these are usually the same people who threaten women in game developed). SJWs are really nazis - it is all about power, control, slavery, and silencing different opinions.
  17. "Not everyone here operates on a 5th grade trolling mentality. Many of the most recent posters in this thread have a lot of growing up to do. It's sadly doubtful they'll ever do it at this point. I just about never agree with PrimeJunta, but the immaturity, tastelessness, and derailing attempts indeed has sunk quite low. It's unfortunate that yet again, a moderator (same one as before) is the prime instigator of this off topic trolling crud that drives people from threads and from the forum all together." Mah Fells Mah Feels Mah Feels Mah Feels Mah Seriously, people need to get over themseklves. You cannot be harmed by silly posts. Actually, I ake that back, because posts like yours TRIGGER me as I realize people are so pro power, control, and slavery they want to control 100% of the people 100% of the time.
  18. Vancian magic is awesome. Those who dislike it are not real RPGers. PERIOD.
  19. "I didn't notice any evidence for your "cause they're white" interpretation." Are you kididng, the 'protestors' in that video are clearly racist. They're also violent thugs. Why youa re defending them. And, don't lump with the peaceful protestors. \Calla spade a spade. If a gang of white punks jumped some black guy they'd be called racist. It's cowardly to pretend this isn't racism. PERIOD.
  20. "(as opposed to resting whenever I want)" Except you can. Nothing actually stops you. The existence of this never changed how I play.
  21. "wanting demographics distribution in media to actually resemble reality" L0L SJWs don't know reality. The reality is that most people are anti SJWs and are on feminists. But, most people are for equality which SJWs are not. Whya re SJWs such lying nazis? Why do they hate women so much they ahrass, bully, and intimidate them out of the game industry? Pro GGers have been supporting women in gaming for DECADES, SJWs have not. That's a FACT,
  22. "Oh, not again Volo. That one got old more than a decade ago. =)" Whereever people trash NWN, I will be there to defend it. It's tradition.
  23. That's Mr. Johnson who probably lied. Or maybe didn't read any of the book. If Mr. Ellison was accurate when it comes to the who midgit thing. If you are a a member of the audience who accuses the entertainer of soemthing and that accusation is blatantly false the entertainer has every right to call you out on it.
