  1. Really the only point I strongly agree with. A lot of the spells currently feel interchangable and lack imagination
  2. pretty sure i remember being mention that nothing stacks, buffs or debuffs, it just uses the absolute higher value for either
  3. I know...thats the point I was making that disappoints me I guess thats one reasonable reason, still sort of waters down the entire spell casting experience
  4. existing one. if every patch required a fresh install and restarting your game that would be terrible, no one would release it like that lol
  5. im assuming you have the gog version? no you just download the latest patch from your library and install it
  6. I think its really weird there is no actual fear effect in the game, from spells and what no, currently frightened or terrified effects just cause some "meh" penalties. Why didn't the devs make it so people with those effects actually run away with fear, like in the origianl IE games, plus it just makes sense. All in all I actually fell a lot of the spells in this game just feel interchangeable and it just makes it feel like the spell selection is a lot smaller than it is.... :-/
  7. Did I read another patchlist? That seems to mean that the fighter Knock Down ability doesn't affect for the full durations its supposed to, but shorter. Not about prone effect lasting forever
  8. its mentioned exactly once, and its about prone reduction mode, I'm talking about prone status being permament and never wearing off (or is that the same thing and im just clueless?)
  9. no one has this issue? i just had it happen from a slicken spell as well. It made me have to reload after a battle since i proned a beetle that was in the middle of digging underground, and it was just stuck underground forever, couldn't finish a battle....
  10. "Relaxed some constraints on Durance's quest conversation. This allows all characters, regardless of background or stats, to finish his quest." Wait what? It was impossible for some character builds to finish his quest? 0.o And nothing about the cage curser still breaking on quicksaves, and prone being broken :-/
  11. Yeah, I don't want to min/max. Though I am hesitant to lower any attributes under 10 which will result in a penalty. If I lower Con on my wizard but keep everything above 10 in my other attributes will that be fine? A wizard should be in the back as it is and not get targeted. I just want to make sure I have enough points in other areas to be able to have some dialogue choices. Does Con affect dialogue? I personally don't like to go below 10 so I don't get negative modifiers. My con is on 10 and I was fine. And no Con doesn't affect dialogue choices, only Int, Might, Perception and Resolve
  12. Like the title says really, when casting the spell Call to Slumber, the enemies affected by it become prone for the entire fight, instead just the 14 seconds
  13. I've seen a few times lately that enemies(sometimes even my own NPCs) that get prone don't have a time limit on it, and just remain prone for the duration of the fight. Anyone else noticed that? EDIT - Actually now that i've checked again, i think its only Call To Slumber spell, it should have a duration of 14 seconds but its permanent. Can anyone else confirm that?
  14. you can't get both the Dozen's and the Knight's bonuses, because they are rivaling factions, when you progress beyond the 2nd quest with 1 faction, the other will stop dealing with you. Not sure about the Doemenel(sp?) guys, since I didn't deal with them
  15. You do realize most(if not all?) of the druid AoE are foe only?.... plus you probably need to work on your positioning and targeting in battle if you can't land his AoEs, learn to plan in advance.
  16. Don't min/max if you care about RP. resolve and even perception could be important. You don't need a "maximally optimal" build to make a viable wizard, or any class really. And the +5 to accuracy from the elf really doesn't amount to that much after the first few levels. Having fun with your character is more important, and another 2 or 3 points in this stat or that won't kill you or keep you alive.
  17. you can use the IE mod to lose that skill and add the one you wanted instead
  18. I got the acrane blast talent (thats the passive one right?) I'm actually not sure I ever saw it in action lol. Can anyone confirm it actually works?
  19. Lets say for a second that you're right about the whole might thing (even tho I don't agree). Who said that in this universe wizards have to spend 20 years in a dusty room reading to be powerful mages? Why can't spell potency be linked to a persons vigor/strength or whatever? Maybe physical strength in this world comes into play by more than just big muscles and excercise? The official Wiki describes might as "Might represents a character's physical and spiritual strength...." Again, you keep trying to compare this to classic DND stereotypes, don't.
  20. Will people stop comparing this system to DnD? This isn't supposed to be a version of DnD!
