  1. I don't think the image is making a judgement about what's good or bad...only about how times/attitudes change. Which is hilariously true...
  2. This is true if you never go online. But as soon as you go online, Steam detects a patch is needed and even if you don't download it/have updates for the game disabled, will tend to disable the ability to launch the game again until you do update it (you get a "this game needs an update" type message). It might not do that for every single game, but in my experience it's been most games. Not that I own Steam's whole catalog or anything like that. Yes. When there's a patch/newer version you can download it when you want, often as a different file, so you can easily revert back whenever you want, if you want.
  3. LOL....not just true of Skyrim, either. "I can carry 50 stone bricks and guns and canons etc. but not this one extra pair of socks..."
  4. Just a few hours, I'd imagine.
  5. I don't know what you mean. We have the internet at our fingertips...thus we're all medical experts. That's interesting. Doesn't apply to my spouse (he's a skinny chap for height - outside of his little beer belly in recent years) but in combo with other stuff, I could see it. I don't think sleep apnea is entirely understood, sometimes. There's a lot of different causes/combo of causes.
  6. A little too much warring all around, not enough topic discussion. Thread pruned...we'll try it again for a while. Try to play nice in the sandbox this time?
  7. The best in 2014? It was a cat video, of course.
  8. Maybe last time you lifted those giant weight thingies, your neck muscles worked so mightily it strained a throat muscle. ....I kid. I got nothing. Could be anything.
  9. Yup, that's right, still 7DtD. I was playing it the other day, carving out my own grandiose Mines of Moria, when the thought occurred to me that what the game really needs are some friendly zombie imps to do the digging for me, so my chr. could just sit on top of a 3 story tower, sipping tea. Then it would be the perfect game.
  10. If you think it's been like that a long time and you just never knew it before, might want to check for sleep apnea. Hubby has that and wakes himself up all the time, among other things. I can hear him snoring sometimes, through 2 walls. I occasionally sleep in another room. He recently tried to get a line on the newer cPap's that are supposedly quieter/more comfy and don't require doctor-supervisied adjustment (the one he got years ago didn't do much for him at all), but he hasn't followed up on it yet.
  11. It's fun when the power goes out late evening, meaning you have no internet for half a day. No idea why, either...wasn't rainy/stormy. Also, it's fun when the streetlight on your block is out, so you know all your neighbors are without power too, but when you look over the rooftops, 5 blocks away people/business seem to have power over there. We're on a tiny grid or something. I'm California-cold, mostly because I'm sitting in a non-heated room, blanket wrapped and likely soon going to bed where it's warm.
  12. Gotten rather off-topic, perhaps. Thread closed per request. Side note: major piracy pro/con debates usually belong in the Computer and Console forum.
  13. I haven't even made it through the 3 LoTR extended in one long session. Two at once, but not all three.
  14. Our heater control is flaky (have to jiggle it on the wall at times), meaning sometimes I wake up and it hasn't kicked on at all at night, so the house is freezing. Well, not freezing, but I still find it cold to wake up to. So far today I've stood in front of the wall gas heat unit (like a super-hot heatpad for all over!), TV remote in hand, while Mr. Black sleeps on my feet. Occasionally hubby jostles with me for the standing room only position. He's drinking coffee, I'm drinking the Diet Dew, and we're both frightfully off-duty frumpy. Life is grand.
  15. I'm too lazy/can't draw ovals with oval pupils in Paint with a mouse, so shoot me.
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5p9r8L0TvQ
  17. I've become pretty sure that this forum is within a very vivid and long dream I'm having after an intense marathon session of my first time playing KOTOR 2, and when I wake up it'll still be early 2005.
  18. I need to move next door to you, so I can couch-mooch check out all your stuff periodically.
  19. ...scary bunny is much scarier than any zombie.
  20. I watch TV or read a book while on indoor pedaling. Doesn't bother me to hold a book/sit up for reading during, I have good balance I guess. I wasn't bored, anyway. Staring at a wall/window during any machine exercise is always boring, tho.
  21. Xmas Eve ... starting tonight, I'll get to put up with enjoy having hubby home 24/7 for over 10 days. Let's see if I can drag him out of the house, away from his snoozing, once in a while to do something like see a movie/get some dinner somewhere nice. Just not the day after Xmas. We hide in the house then, because it's always pure madness. All the sale-maddened-stampeding herds. There's a pretty, low lying fogginess to the morning. Where it's not really thick but has that sort of walking in a light cloud, movie feeling. I find it enjoyable, walking around the neighborhood with hot cocoa in hand.
  22. Well, I started another character, did exactly the same thing (no npc talking) and it worked fine initially, exited game, restarted, still worked fine to travel on map. I did notice tho that my first chr/save, the travel map had the Crossing option on it, while the new save didn't (just gorge and the town). Strange. Well, anyway, some odd glitch I guess.
  23. So...in my brief opening of the game to check out the ui's and such, I created a new party, was put in the town. I talked to no one and just headed straight for a map travel point and went to Stormwall Gorge to glance around for 15 seconds. When I loaded the save later and tried to use the travel point/map to go back to the village, the party emerges above it, stuck/unable to move with the party leader running in place endlessly. I reloaded repeatedly w/same results, then tried going to the other available map location (Crossing) which put me in front of what looks like a dangerous cave (not where I recall it put me in previous version), but with the same problem. I take it this isn't supposed to happen. Is it because I didn't talk to the town/get missions? Any ideas? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKcCHBwBb-Q&feature=youtu.be
  24. Oh you're one of those. Yeah, I tend to run with fps capped at 60 (vynsc off tho), because I don't care about it being higher (as long as it's 30-40ish I find games perfectly playable) and don't like it when some games or game menus are over 100, tends to heats up my gtx590/room too much in the summer. Anyway, if I turn off the cap, PoE-392 = 80-100ish while exploring in non-combat, for me. Well, since I haven't really played the beta yet/am not actually familiar with it (I just glance around at ui's and wander to see scenery/town), I can screen what I think are those things. I don't seem to see a talent UI, maybe I have to level up first. Edit: Forgot the forum shrinks attachments these days.
