  1. I enjoyed what I played of the first release Metro - and certainly liked its looks on mega high/dx11 settings etc. As is often the case these days I didn't ever finish it so I didn't get any other releases. But I definitely liked the different environment as well.
  2. I think he was just so disappointed that it didn't do anything for him -after others telling him about how miraculous it was to their lives - he's sorta ignoring it now. There is the surgery option but that's not 100% sure either and more risky. So yeah...oh well. He has the dozens of micro-wakeups an hour and breathing stops but at least it's typically not super dangerous levels. I just worry more as we get older. Moving on...this morning I went for a short walk and cleaned out the fridge. I think there was a bottle of steak sauce in there from the 1970's....
  3. Yeah, I know. I liked it, laughed quite a bit. Glad they chose a half hour format tho...it would be a bit too much for me if it was an hour. Also, I was watching it on VoD and during the adbreaks they kept playing ads for upcoming ABC shows using the same song-style, over and over every break, which became rather eye-rolling when seeing them all at once like that. That sing-song cadence style they're using...I often wonder if it has a name, because note for note it's very similar to ... well, a ton of other stuff.
  4. There was only one time, so far, that I noticed, where he stopped breathing long enough for me to get truly scared and shake him awake. That was when I started heavily researching apnea and eventually he did the sleep clinic/study. But when the cpap didn't work he sorta stopped thinking about it again. They've made advances since and he did make one attempt recently to look into it, but he's not ... the most proactive man.
  5. Listening to your spouse every night constantly snore, stop breathing for 15-30 seconds, snort and then start snoring again will always be a bit disturbing. I can't hang out/stay awake by his side all night tho.
  6. Is it just me, or are the uniforms very not-OS Star Trek like? It is a nice pitch video.
  7. Same....mostly forums, where if I read something intriguing I might then go to YouTube to check out videos or do a general websearch. In the old days I subscribed to paper magazines etc. but since the internet took over I really don't pursue any such websites with regularity.
  8. No. Well, some may. But sports? Not really a patriotic thing (where I am). Just a fan-thing.
  9. "This Is Where I Leave You." ...because, Jason Bateman. Also, hubby wanted a lighter fare film. Family drama with sporadic comedy bits type movie. Bateman does great in his usual everyman role and Jane Fonda was pretty funny. Not the best film of its type I've seen and fairly predictable, but the actors make it charming enough.
  10. Galavant is a silly show This you already know About a guy named Galavant. A foppish doltish King Who yes can dance and sing Does steal the girl from Galavant. Catchy songs and tunes Jokes to fill the rooms Get back up again oh Galavant. Witty! Plus a good night's worth of TeeVee value This show just ma-ayy grow on you-oo. Yet, it's really hard to say If I'll watch it every day This new show they call Galavant. As entertaining as it was It's all a little much, and could get a little weary-ing. But King's scenes were pretty great Lead actor has a pretty face And they sure all can cadence sing "Gal--a--vanttttt."
  11. Looking for those 10 pounds I lost so ordered a pizza and am going to watch Galavant and maybe a movie. At least that's the plan. I might get distracted again.
  12. I remember that one. When I was 16 in the mid-80's, it seemed pretty awesome. Not that I thought it was the best even then, but hey, it was sci-fi/fantasy-ish, so I dug it.
  13. Combo of gaming, holiday, and insomnia = sleeping schedule that is really messed up. I mean, I'm usually a late-night person as it is, but this is getting silly even for me (in that it's lasting so long/I can't break it). It's funny how even if you get enough sleep hours-wise, when it's gained at weird times (for you personally), it doesn't feel the same at all. I'm all discombobulated. And Gorth, that sounds like something I might do.
  14. Wait...I just noticed the posting date of that video. If that was near the interview date, then not the one I was thinking of. Oh well, doesn't really matter. I think it's been said often enough that there won't be specific romances written for PoE. Whether that means "never ever" ... for example, if there's a sequel ... who can say. But not in the first one.
  15. Yeah, I think that was the one. Oh and my comment was in response to Edvin's querry re: "It is 100% sure that they will never be any romance?"
  16. I'm sure my husband would love that cheddar. I'd get him a few ounces if I could.
  17. It's winter, which means when I'm lazy, I'm the occasional master of Top Ramen ("Oriental" flavor is the most neutral), because for some reason I still don't like canned soups. It's that canned flavor, yeech. The secret is you have to let it sit a while, so the noodles get soft instead of having that dried cheap noodle texture. Plus add a bit of leftover meat, mushrooms/vegies, peppers and other spices (I only use half the "flavor packet" that comes with, it's too salty otherwise). So bring to a boil, simmer for 3-5 minutes, turn off heat, let it sit in the pot with lid on for another 10 minutes. My husband actually eats my Top Ramen and he usually hates instant soup/noodle stuff. Go figure. But mostly, I just buy the wonton soup from the local Chinese place.
  18. I seem to recall that at some point there were some interviews or questions responded to that essentially = "no, no romances in PoE" but it was so long ago I don't remember exactly, and I'm too lazy to search the many multitudes of previous romance threads (and there were many many) for it.
  19. What? Target was targeted by another petition, some 10,000 signatures long demanding they pull the advertising and apologize for having a white girl modelling an Annie inspired clothing line. To put it in perspective, I believe there were some previous ads or marketing with a black Annie, and the hubbub is that they changed it to a white Annie again, negating the message. Still..petitions for ad-pulling and apologies seem a bit over reactionary.
  20. If I hadn't yet played Skyrim at all, I might be more impressed. You can get nice landscapes in the game (especially with mods I'd guess) but meh...it's not as cool seeming when actually running around, for some reason.
  21. The funniest part is I've now figured out how to reproduce leaving the normal boundaries of the game, at will. Some oddball glitch with view angles and tossing around materials. Sadly, the biggest caverns I've dug for checking out their outer shapes are long gone. I'll have to do another.
  22. I remember hoping Voyager would be a return to spacefaring Trek after DS9 (which I could never get into for multiple reasons)...I watched maybe half a season. I didn't really dislike it, but it didn't make me want to keep watching, either. Although iirc I did like the virtual doctor guy. He was funny. Janeway was just meh. Actually she reminded me a bit of Kate Hepburn in her older years, if Hepburn in her older years had looked a bit younger. Yeah...I totally made sense there... Then again, maybe it was just Janeway's hair.
  23. Being a spiritual successor doesn't mean exactly the same. They're keeping the atmosphere and general gameplay/workings/looks of the BG-type games while also taking the opportunity to try to improve or advance some stuff. As great as those past games were, they weren't without faults and maybe with hindsight some things can be improved/better. I can understand why some folks have reservations about some of the changes, but maybe an open mind isn't a bad idea. eg, let's try it before jumping to conclusions that it'll ruin the game, simply because it's not what you're used to seeing in the older games. ...personally, I don't really need the xp-grind. I'm used to that, sure, but I don't need it, if what takes its place works just as well. We shall see.
  24. Same...New Vegas was really the last one I did. I've tried a few since then, but it never lasts for long.
