1 - If I had 25k I was willing to spare, I'd so snatch that tier of the Conman thingie. I'm not surprised at all that it's over 2 million now with so many tiers sold out. 2 - I love Jensen, but most of his singing vids at Supernatural conventions kind of make me cringe. I get why it's awesome in the fan way, but when not actually there, I just notice he's not actually that great at singing.

Pet cats? +1 Josh's cat is pretty adorable, but since I'm horribly biased, I think mine is the cutest one.

Speaking from teenage-phase experience, I think LSD as a cure would likely be worse than the problem itself. Edit: no, haven't tried that one yet, Grom. If they continue to be this frequent I'll ask the doc about it, thanks. I get halo's/light sensitivity, nausea, occasional vomiting, and the pulse-pounding, curl on the floor worsening with any physical exertion (one prays one doesn't have to go to the bathroom during one...). It's tolerable when it's a couple times a year, but this month has been horrid. My brain is fried. I can also get pseudo ones from allergies occasionally - which I initially thought the first one this month was - but they're usually not quite as severe.

Haven't played it in a while, but 7 Days to Die is moving to Unity5 for the next update, and this afternoon, glancing through the art guy's blog is making it seem like a vast improvement visually. I'm sure it still won't be uber graphically or anything, but a big improvement. I especially like the detail of the biomes finally not just being these ugly sudden hardlines, but more of a transition period. http://joelhuenink.tumblr.com/ Still no update release date but probably end of month...hopefully my head/brain will cooperate and I'll get to play it (along with PoE) upon release. ...before migraines started up again, I had gotten one character in Path of Exile to lvl60ish and the personal hideout to two sections. Based on the brutal gear-check aspect of the 3rd difficulty, it's unlikely I'll get much farther. Too much work for me. Oh and the RNG of the gem/orb stuff was horrendous. After using up 50 of one type just trying to get 3 sockets on a weapon to be the color combo I wanted, I decided to ignore that method. Probably won't go back to it again anyway, until Act4 in April or whatever. If then.

*waves* ...been suffering from a rash of migraines. Have always had one or three of them a year (most years) since I was a teen, but don't know why I'm getting so many all of a sudden. I've been pretty much staying off the computer or doing anything else that basically boils down to staring into a rectangular shaped lightbulb for hours at a time. ...taking the usual pain meds, seen a doc, etc. Could be early menopausal hormone changes are making things go crazy or something. At the moment just hoping they'll stop/reduce back to the old pattern again. Not much else I can do really. On the better days I do some light spring gardening and exercise. Mostly I listen to music and pet my cat.

Path of Exile is reminding me of how much I initially hated the "waypoint" systems back when Diablo2 game out. In D2 once you became familiar with the potential map layouts you could dash for the waypoints without too much trouble (especially as the teleporting sorc, haha), but yeah ... it's a really annoying system when you just want to find the bloody wp and logoff and then you can't find it...running around/fighting for an hour longer than you intended. So far found a couple Masters/did their quests, but now I keep encountering this one master who tells me to "not kill a certain someone/leave them at low health for 10s" but then that someone is nowhere to be found. One time tried doing as requested with a random monster but didn't work. And if I leave the area he's in, the master quest disappears. **** that Master, then.

Wrath of Khan is still my fave but Voyage Home was certainly entertaining and fun to watch and I'd probably place it 2nd.

Can I play this with 3-4 chars?
LadyCrimson replied to Slish's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'll have to see what the game is like re:npc's first, but I always enjoy replaying these type of games whilst trying to use smaller parties. Although in the old days that was partly because dragging 5 bumbling AI figures around drove me crazy. But also because I like using that method to make the game "harder" vs. turning up difficulty settings, especially if those settings just increase enemy dmg/reduce your dmg. or whatever. -
^^That last one is pretty. =============== ...never mind my dorky looking chr. Kitty!

*runs around town, does yardwork etc.* *a thought pops in, "I should share/ask that on the forum"* *much later, login to the forum ... what was that...tip of my tongue - can't remember* Oh well. Story of my life. I think it was related to human memory, like how well ppl recall things they learn...but. Ironic!

Listened to Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" 9876980986 times while reading a novel and playing a bit of game (the latter two not both at once). Ate some dinner. Gave cat some dinner. Watched TV. Ate small bowl of popcorn. Gave cat some popcorn. Ate small bowl of ice cream. Gave cat some ice cream. Now going to bed. Cat does not get to share that one.

I liked the first part of Wreck It Ralph a lot...but once in the candy game it mostly lost me. Can't remember why, something annoyed me however. Not that that is hard to do these days. I don't think I'd call it a modern setting per se. I mean maybe it is technically, but that's not what the movie is.

Walking Dead - Episode had many small moments that made me laugh out loud. Seems like a lot of set up and they sure are trying to make the viewer suspicious of a few new chrs right off the bat. Anyway...not an action episode, but some hilarity made up for it. Carol dressed up like that, teehee. Liked the zombie apoc. version of father-son bonding moment, too. Hah!

Path of Exile - it's always nice to have an online game where even if you log in only once a year, all your stuff is still there. I guess I'm still "scarred" from those Diablo2 days of having to sign in every few months or whatever it was or lose all your mules. My biggest beef with the game still exists - I've never liked its click-to-hit interface. I don't know why. It's no different on paper than Diablo's click to attack, but yet I constantly feel like I click and end up running forward instead of hitting anything, forcing use of the stand-still key 100% of the time. No sense of feedback, or they stack too much when in large groups, or they move faster than I can move cursor and click, no clue. Very aggravating after a while. At any rate...outside of that the game always looks and performs better each time I try. But still an ARPG where I admire it in concept a lot more than I do in execution. But! I'd still like my own hideout, soon as I figure out that system (something about Masters...). Because I'm like that. Then I'll probably logoff for another year.

With some games infinite replay with the same character is great/fine and even expected. Other games I don't feel it's appropriate at all. Games like PoE, BG, etc. are in the latter category. Choices and consequences should have at least a bit of meaning - not just the big plot/chr. consequences but whether you can afford a suddenly coveted item at the end or not. If you don't sell items because you're always worried you may need them "someday", that's a choice. If you use items instead of selling them, that's a choice. And so on. This type of game, I hope for a consequence for my actions, even if it's a small consequence. Is it irritating at times? Yup, can be. I still ideally want them there. I'll make a guess that, just like in the older games, at some in PoE we'll all be feeling at least moderately flush with funds, so I kinda doubt it'll be a major issue for most anyway. And of course, one can always do it "perfectly" during a 2nd playthrough or something. I value re-playability more than "infinite play" with a single chr./save, I guess.

I've always been a single-player. Even the MMO/online games I've played, I've largely gone it alone as far as those games would allow me to. I have occasionally played with randoms or online friends in the past but not much at all in recent years. ...then my husband decided he like the Borderlands series and we've played a lot of LAN co-op. Which has been a lot of fun in the mayhem category. But I still vastly prefer playing all by my lonesome and games that are designed to be played single-player. It is definitely a type of escape for me...I don't play games to be social. Although I have spent time in "towns" just chatting, but then when I want to actually play, I run off by myself. That said, I do get/understand that competitive gameplay is certainly more fun against humans than stupid-AI, and co-op can definitely make a combat more tactical/fun. Even so, (with no offense to my husband), 99% of the time, "I want to be alone."

Romance options
LadyCrimson replied to gurufabbes's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
It's far too late to add in romanceable characters in March's release of PoE. The topic of whether PoE will have/should have/should not have story-romance has been discussed to death practically from the beginning. There are definitely others here who also enjoy/would like to have romance in their rpg's, and as Lord Wafflebum pointed out, there is a thread dedicated to the topic. So if you'd like to discuss why you enjoy romance and what your hopes are for its inclusion in PoE sequels etc., please feel free to add your thoughts there. -
Read that Path of Exile now has something called "hideouts," which intrigued me. Clicked on my game shortcut and will now probably spend the next hour "checking resources", downloading and installing a zillion updates since the last time I looked at it. If that goes well, maybe I'll get that cat pet this time. Just because. Is anyone still playing it, and if so, are hideouts something difficult to acquire? eg, tons of grinding, high level chrs, all that? I'm guessing it takes some commitment...not sure I have it, but maybe I'll try for a bit.

Hiya Cant - congrats on the weight loss and wishing you continued success! ...Note to self: should probably avoid any dances that resemble The Twist on speed. Painful/swollen knees today, first time in a while. Sitting around with knees up etc. Oh well, I suppose it was worth it.

Previous thread The House at the End of Time A Venezuelan suspense/thriller/horror film with a twist ending. Gradual build up with the twist being pretty well done, I thought. I mean, some may see it coming mid-way but it's done well. Certainly nothing like the typical US affairs, more understated tonally, but perhaps for that reason I liked it. Bad Turn Worse Heard about this one because Mark Pellegrino kept tweeting it on his Twitter a while back. Meant to, but never got around to it. It's on Netflix now, so I gave it a spin. The crime thriller aspect is fairly typical and I'd give the film a mediocre rating, but Pellegrino is worth watching if you like the actor. Also tried to watch a 1961 blk/wht film with William Shatner called The Explosive Generation, (also on Netflix) but despite it maybe being one of Shatner's better performances (eg, not "hammy"), I couldn't stand the early 60's version of after-school type drama and ended up skipping to Shatner's parts then turning it off.

Time to sneak into a new theater.

Round Table was a fair bit better 30 years ago, too. I still consider it one of the better "chains"...rather have it than Pizza Hut/Mountain Mikes, by far. Most better pizza I've had are at Italian restaurant combos. Although I did like Windy City's thick pies (I think they might be gone now tho).

Oh great. Now I'm going to spend all afternoon watching Star Trek clips and being all nostalgic and sad. RIP - he lived long and prospered.

Just realizing that soon it'll be 10 years since I registered here. Which isn't quite as long as many of you, but mostly it's just the thought of ... 10 years. Been some times, those 10 years, both IRL and here. Wonder what's in store for the next 10. ...unrelated: I need more cat icons/smilies.
