  1. Just to remind people, the physical reward goods are being shipped without the game disc. Due to a poll and the results of that poll, the game disc is being shipped later, last I knew. But the current batch of physical reward shipping seems to very staggered. Some other people in Calif. got theirs before I did, for example. Why I have no idea...shipping routes/companies maybe. And no clue on Europe etc.
  2. Me: "It's vet day, Mr. Black! Checkup and shots. If you're good I'll give you some..." MrBlack: *sees pet carrier, hides under the couch* Me: *sigh*
  3. Grosse Pointe Blank. Still one of my favorite comedy+action movies ever.
  4. Well whaddya know - take the map out into the sun and it does look more distinct, colorwise. The ocean is sort of a muddy blue. Love our dim indoor lighting. So the pic I posted is a little more accurate than I thought. I'd post another pic but I figure no one cares. Make no mistake tho...the cloth itself isn't quality. Like a thin cheap handkerchief or bandana. I don't actually care about them myself, but they are more permanent and not subject to wear and tear in the way paper is (and folding creases, as mentioned). Although of course a good frame helps in either case. Cloth also doesn't have that "shiny" paper look/reflective aspect. Myself, I like parchment type paper.
  5. I don't know if it's exactly the same, but there's been a lot of discussion on crashes in this area. Might want to look at this thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72016-raedrics-hold-game-crash/ A developer recently made a post in there that said they'd found the issue and a fix will be in the 1st post-launch patch. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72016-raedrics-hold-game-crash/?p=1613809
  6. Certainly not when one is using a flash and/or typical home lighting that colorshades the image. You need some studio lights (or a homemade lightbox), and of course most of the time when ppl are doing that, they're aiming to make something look as good, vibrant and colorful as possible, which also isn't always "naked eye." Anyway, using a better camera, but a crap flash unit with poor indoor lighting (I'm too lazy to pull out my makeshift lightboxes...), I tried fiddling with the resulting terrible photos to see if I could at least get the map part of a photo to be closer to what I see with my eyeballs. Got kinda close on the land masses, but the flash (and editor fiddling) makes the water and PoE logo look a lot bluer/green than it really is - it's actually all largely shades of light brown (the van bench-seat the map is resting on is light blue IRL, heh). The mossy stuff under the logo is barely visible/has little contrast to the eye, because the browns are so closely matched. But if you picture the water as brownish, it's close-ish. Haha. The other pic is just a full-size crop for detail. eg, you can see the cloth grain. Maybe if you took the map into sunlight at noon, it'd look different/less all-brown. I dunno - it's 2am here, can't check.
  7. Don't know why it's not in the OST but you can look in the game directory for it. Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\audio\mus\mus_final
  8. There is time limit to editing posts. I think it might be only a couple hours but it was implemented long enough ago that I can't remember if that's entirely correct.
  9. Oh man...actually, if one of the rewards had been a roll of toilet paper with sections of map printed on it, I so would have wanted that. Would've been hilarious. I'd put it on top of my PC and giggle every time I looked at it. I'm weird I know. I do wonder who printed the maps, and if that's their "normal."
  10. Glad you figured it out so you can keep going and it wasn't actually a bug!
  11. Interesting, I don't have that directory folder at all, never created (tho I do have the others mentioned). I wonder if that's because I don't install Steam in Program Files directory? Ever since Win7 I very rarely install anything in Program Files because ... reasons. Sometimes I think that's why I tend to avoid experiencing a lot of issues some others have, too. Then again, could be my imagination.
  12. Nope, you're not. ---> http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73030-collectors-editon-map-horrible/
  13. More like something you'd stitch or iron onto your shirt pocket or jacket front, or back jeans pocket if you've a mind, perhaps. It's in the shape of the game logo (the crystal thingies).
  14. Definitely that, but I also mean I haven't had time/energy to put as many hours in as I want to, after my initial starting burst. An hour or two here and there, no marathon-like sessions yet. ...it was interesting, however, how super-fast the tutorial section + getting to G. Vale went doing it a 2nd time. I mean, the sort of major difference where you're left wondering what the heck you were doing all that time, the first time.
  15. Oh...I remember what it was now. I was testing the stealing so I clicked on one of their "things" and they attacked. So rep hit was probably for that, not the killing.
  16. I killed a couple in G. Vale that were in a house all by their lonesome. It still dropped my Vale rep a tiny tiny bit, according to the log. This isn't the case everywhere?
  17. Got home, saw a box on my doorstep, thought "YES, MY JERKY IS FINALLY HERE." .... then "Oh wait, it's from Paradox. Well, I guess it'll do..." (couple hours later, jerky did arrive as well - so I am now a doubly happy camper). My brain is apparently normal ... although I'm sure some might debate that. So now it's a matter of cycling through the series of triptan "abortive" drugs (like Grom mentioned a while back) to see if there's one that helps me. I really dislike drugs and avoid them when at all possible (gritting thru the pain much of the time, as it were) but yeah...buttloads of advil is not sufficient at this time and I'm pretty ready to find something to help, now.
  18. Mine was on the doorstep today when I got home. Map: yes, it's a little weak. The thread count of the cloth seems low (or thick thread weave) so it makes print across it look like it's missing some anti-aliasing, haha. But it's not the worst I've seen as far as cloth maps go. T-shirt: it's black with logos, it's a t-shirt. I like it. The material is a bit thin however - I thought it would be a little thicker. I might hang it on my wall instead of wearing it. Guidebook thingie: Part1? What is that about? It's a nice piece of hardcover guidebook, however. Mousepad - it's a mousepad. Patches - they're fine. Physical goods weren't my goal, supporting the game/Obsidian was. But it's still always fun to open a box. Also, this: Which CA doodle did you end up with? (I don't know how different they were, I remember some signing pics where it looked like he randomly did at least some different ones but...).
  19. This has come up before (both for PoE and other games I've seen)...I can sympathize but I sort of doubt it'll be officially added. Spiders are just such a staple to fantasy monster roles and I/we have no idea if there are actually any "statistically identical" enemies (meaning, if not, they'd have to create new ones, art, etc). As you said, it's possible that at some point a modder might do something like that, assuming modding capabilities will allow for it.
  20. Did you try Steam's "verify integrity of the cache" thingie on PoE to see if it would download any missing files? (r-click on game in Steam client list, Properties/Local Files/Verify)
  21. They've already replied recently in another big thread that it's been fixed/shouldn't occur anymore when they release a patch. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72016-raedrics-hold-game-crash/?p=1613809
  22. There's been reported issues with this type of thing re: companion stats as well. Are you wearing any items that increase stats, by chance?
  23. Doc. appointment time! Over the phone he was saying he might want to order an MRI just to eliminate stuff. Which always sounds scary. But I think it's just the precaution route rather than any specific worry in his head. Better to check, I guess. Gah I hate hospitals. Really really hate hospitals. I dislike the DMV more, but not by much.
  24. I have no clue re: this, but do resistances come into play much in PoE? eg, maybe fire resistance becomes somewhat common? Or maybe it was felt more damage helps compensate for the potential friendly fire issues (incentive to not choose "less dangerous" ones all the time instead). Wait, does that have any FF? Maybe I'm confusing it with something else. Or Josh could have his reasons, too (I think too long/type too slow, as usual).
