  1. In the newly release-day created Tech Support section. http://forums.obsidian.net/forum/104-pillars-of-eternity-technical-support-spoiler-warning/
  2. I definitely don't like friendly fire. I know know, it's more realistic/challenging to some with friendly fire. But for me it just means I don't tend to use mages/spellcasters for anything but buffs or direct dmg. single spells etc. Which means I don't tend to use them at all, in a party. Maybe if I was trying it solo or with just one other party member.
  3. Perfectly normal for this type of game. At least for some of us. On replays it tends to go quite a bit faster as you're familiar with stuff/quests/locations but the first time? I'm slower than a snail trudging through molasses.
  4. I wish I could do the same, but I'd suspect it's a balance issue. By that I mean, enchanted cape + necklace may not have been balanced for. But it'd be nice if you could have a slot to wear any non-enchanted cape, just for looks, or something.
  5. Could it partly be the size of the 3D objects when zoomed out etc? So small, not much for AA to work with, heh? Here's a test you can try just to see if the AA is working at all: if you use the console command to increase the zoom-in of the game a lot, do the weapons look more AA'd then? They do on my PC at very extreme zoom-in (but then the ground textures look utterly horrible heh). Still not perfect but it's doing something. http://crimsonkeep.com/wallpapers/data/media/139/PoE-Obs-0004.jpg But the farther you zoom out the edges of small objects start to pixelate more. Not quite as much for me as in some of your pics in this and other threads, but still noticeable imo, especially on straight edged weapons. http://crimsonkeep.com/wallpapers/data/media/139/PoE-Obs-0005.jpg Console command: hit the ` key, hit Enter, type setzoomrange [min] [max] and hit Enter again, then scroll to see the zoom difference. The default is 0.75 1.5 with the first number being the close-in zoom range. My 1st screenshot is probably around .3 or .4, I can't remember. This console command doesn't disable Steam achievements.
  6. I haven't experienced this (yet) myself. Does it happen even early on, or only after you've been playing the same chr. for a while?
  7. Is it also taking longer and longer to quicksave/load the game? Were the loading times briefer in the beginning? If so, could be experiencing the same issues as others in this tech forum thread. The dev's are aware of it. Might want to glance through that thread and add your pc specs etc. to it, if you wish. Edit: if it's just the multiple-loading transitions for short distances being a PITA probably not much you can do about that, outside of a SSD drive if you don't already have one, and/or other pc upgrades.
  8. The game still opens the Steam client/runs with it - it's not one of the "drm free" steam titles. Yes I closed Steam client and tried clicking the exe file directly. Steam still opens. I don't think Steam per se is the cuplprit in long load times either...maybe more related to the temp saving files the game creates when saving. There was a post or two on that in another thread, I'd look for it but my head is killing me right now.
  9. Yeah I found/have the black dog and saw a cat in someone's house, but haven't reached a point/area/discovered adoptable cats yet. I'm glad they're in the game however. *smile* Oh and the idea of having pets be able to roam our inns/stronghold etc. is a great idea, imo. Heh.
  10. Went for a walk around our neighborhood. Starting feeling like a migraine was coming and hurried home. Oh god, this sucks. Weird thing was I was smelling something like rotten fruit beforehand. That's a new one for me. Time to go back to the doc again.
  11. I think it's time for me to go outside again...my brain is spitting out befuddled farts way too much this afternoon. It's a lovely day, too. I always like this period where we've turned the clocks forward not too long ago so the days are longer but not yet so long that on hot days it stays "too hot" (for me) all night long...
  12. Pretty much what I said when we went through that one.
  13. Oh...is that the name of that section? Then I guess I have been there. I don't pay tons of attention to area names and didn't recognize it offhand. Edit: argh...nvm again. I'm batting 1000 today in brain farts.
  14. This is almost as good/funny as the superman-mega-companion stats one.
  15. I don't (yet) have issues with loading times but I'd like this option as well. I just don't like autosaves. There's none in the game options that I can see.
  16. Generic container loot are sometimes random (they change with "new game" anyway) and I find hats in those.
  17. No mod-kit...the best Obsidian has mentioned, I believe, is that they aren't/won't make the game purposely difficult to mod. So modding is possible, but it won't be a simple/easy thing like a Construction Kit, and will likely be limited in scope as to what is possible.
  18. The Search function is the white input bar at the very top right corner of the forum. The little gear-looking wheel to the side of that takes you to the Advanced Search area with all the options.
  19. I unplugged my 'net cable - both Steam client and the game loadup just fine without it when in "offline" mode. I don't know about online mode and save game loading - I almost never use online mode.
  20. They seem to get confused at times when other party members (or objects) are "blocking" their path to the enemy from collision.
  21. Saw a post where if you cram your party in a circle formation with casters in the middle, they can't teleport next to them because of collision. Course, doesn't mean you can easily do that all the time. The collision detection+AI is actually quite annoying at times, when your party members start to move to attack, can't get close enough because of other party members, and then just stand there staring at their companions backs doing nothing, making the micromanagement even worse.
  22. Yes, retail boxed versions = Steam. DRM-free copies of the game are either GoG (digital) or from the Kickstarter backer tiers as one of the tier rewards.
  23. I haven't reached that area/map, so I don't know if it actually only has a single exit point or something like that, but if not, have you tried exiting the map from another map exit "point?" I think sometimes only certain travel options will show up as travel-able from certain exit directions, if that makes sense. If that's not it ... then nvm, just ignore me.
  24. I'm happy enough, personally, with the (somewhat) random loot from chests/containers. Are you sure *all* enemy loot is hand-placed/not random - for every newly created game? eg, does it become placed static when a 'new game' is created or just static no matter what chr./save you're playing.
