Cant decide on what talents to give Aloth on level up
I kept choosing the bonus spells...they were occasionally handy to have in longer fights after using up most of his high lvl slots, vs. needing scrolls or having him just using his wand, since they become per encounter use later. No idea if that was the "best" decision to make, however.

What's on the idiot box Part 4 (or something)
Hubby's running through The Guardian, an older lawyer type of series. In one, Michael Dorn has a small guest role. I'll always think of him as Mr. Woof and hence it's always a bit odd to see him without Klingon makeup. Makes me want to toss in some ST:TNG DVD's.

What you did today
A couple of wasps have somehow made their way into my kitchen and my husband is not here to kill them for me (I have adverse reactions to stings). Trying to figure out a way to kill it with zero danger to me/not spraying insecticide all over the pantries/house. Maybe I'll just leave the house for a while...

The truth behind the words in constantine's "The 'Truth' behind words in RPG Codex's #1 Review for PoE "
Apologies for any inconvenience...but I think at this point it may be best to have a fresh/neutral part 2 of this topic.

The 'Truth' behind words in RPG Codex's #1 Review for PoE
Hm, I go to sleep and ... I will take any "blame" here, for not creating a part 2 myself when I closed the original. I had assumed ... well sometimes I assume wrong. I feel it may be best at this point to close both this and the other thread to create a fresh/neutral start for any who still wish to continue debating the merits (or lack of) of the Codex review. Thanks.

What you did today
This is why I always keep a nice stockpile of highly scented citrus-y candles. Because even tho I ordinarily don't like artificial scents, it's still better than having to smell ... some other stuff. *stares at her cat* Friends I know prefer incense sticks, but for some reason my nose doesn't like any of those.

What are you playing now?
Yeah, I'm kind of in agreement, although probably for different reasons. I like party rpg's, but these days I'm not as into managing large parties. I much prefer having 2-3, I think. It feels more ... personal. (not that I didn't goof off with mods to have more companions in FO:NV...but that was for lulz after finishing the game). Since I was never a big stealth/rogue type, Pillar's version doesn't really bother me ... but neither does it reinvent the wheel in a way that made me go "cool, now I like stealth." It's definitely a bit weird.

The Custom Portraits Thread
Ahahaha....that's hilarious. And rather awesome. Need more based on the team, like that.

RPGCodex Review #1 - Hŵrpa Dwrp
Well I'm going to be the big fat party-pooper and state the obvious in that this thread is far beyond the usual thread post count limit. Time to close this one. Feel free to create a part 2.

Full-play through storyline (combat skip)
Depends on what your motivation is for doing it. eg, if "worth your time" means "lots of views on YouTube" - I'd have no idea. The release-rush interest period is over and so I'd guess it'd be the kind of video that would slowly get views over time, but likely nothing extraordinary in that regard, unless you framed the videos in some unusual presentation way (not just straight recording/uploading).

quests, Tasks ect.
It greys out in the main listing and text description of the last step in the main journal log greys out + description usually says something about how you finished it.

The technical team is still alive?
Ah, ok, I see.

Kana verses Greiving Mother
Yeah, outside of maybe having two fighters, I don't personally like to double-up on same classes most of the time, unless doing something quirky like "6 wizards!" I had Kana in the back using a gun and he almost never had to defend - enemies paid him no mind unless the rest of the party wiped first. The benefits of the chants can be subtle but they can be better than I think some give credit for, especially in later game.

Pet Locations (minor spoilers)
Perception has its uses (some really like the Interrupt as a build concept, apparently, among other things) - it's just that secret-hunting isn't one of them.

The technical team is still alive?
A lot of reports are also duplicates/stuff that's already been reported x20, at this point. imo they have better things to do than repeatedly say "post a save/we know, working on it, thanks" in every thread. The tracker/"OBS" indicator only tracks/leads to the 1st dev post made in each thread. Is that not working correctly? Or did you mean that it's not picking up on the 2nd, 3rd, etc. posts they may make? If the latter, that's just a limitation of the current tracker option.

Installation from Disk
LadyCrimson replied to dturtle1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)The main game when uncompressed/installed is actually more like 13GB. Download size is not installed-size. The patches may not be as compressed as the initial game download, although that's just conjecture on my part. How big they are depends a lot on how the game is coded re: what is being patched, specifically, and how the info of the patches are applied/integrated (it's not always the same process for all games) as well as any Steam quirks. Example: in order to patch something, you may have to download a new version/s of an entire file/s, vs. a tiny add-on of some sort, if that makes sense. Just depends.

Pet Locations (minor spoilers)
Perception has zero to do with finding secrets.

Aloth ending..wondering what to do different next time (spoilers)
He has at least a few points where he suddenly starts spouting stuff to you, with a dialogue choice option to pick. iirc, where he reveals he's Leaden Key/he asks if he can stay with you (right after Defiance Bay/Act2 ends), before or after you enter the Twin Elms "god prayer" room (sorry, can't remember specifically), and the end game (just before you enter the big bads chamber and maybe some of what comes after). The end-game may be the most important one to the ending slide however (eg, have to take him into the "point of no return") - for any companion you have with you at the time, really, not just Aloth. ...basically, imo, if you want to be able to affect the ending slide of a companion, it's best if they're with you almost the entire time. Their single quest choices creates one ending, but that isn't the end of the potential.

Kana verses Greiving Mother
Pretty much this. I personally like the chanters as a 6th member in a full party (haste, buff, summons), but their actual "metagame" utility in a full party is somewhat sparse.

Talking to Maerwald interrupts Two Sided quest?
Only thing I could think of is if Aloth isn't in your party, maybe he has some connection to Maerwald or the dialogue options you chose with Maerwald re: triggering Aloth's later quest, but since Eder is the one with the actual Maerworld bit, iirc, I doubt that's really it. Could be a glitch? If you have a save before you kill Maerwald, reload and see if it still happens?

Pet Locations (minor spoilers)
Yup. Good theory. I've gone through there with Mechanics 5 I think, but nothing higher.

What you did today
Woke up with blood all over my pillow/shirt. Bloody nose time! I remember when this used to happen to me a lot as a kid. My mother sorta freaked out. Hehee. Going to my cousin's for a birthday party this afternoon. Mmm, cake.

Pet Locations (minor spoilers)
I've tried going back to previous saves re: Gordy too but there is no obvious option during his quest (or after it completes, as one of the various rewards) re: getting a dog. So dunno... The spider - I wonder if you're supposed to find it with a high Mechanic skill in pre-restored areas, but most don't have high Mechanics then...and when they do, the Stronghold areas have been restored already. Anyone try cheating a max Mechanics 1st time you get there to look around the broken down rooms? Maybe some of them they decided to hold back for the expansion.

What you did today
*looks around at various threads* ...this place (and the 'net in general) gets a little weirder every year.
