  1. Remind me not to have 5 wine coolers in a fairly short time span, ever again. I had forgotten how much bile/indigestion that gives me, hours later. My belly hurts. The day was nice, tho. Got home bit after dark and hubby was still in the garage, apparently taking apart his drill press. His "cat b gone" idea has him spending his days running around to part stores and puttering in the garage, trying to make everything by scratch. eg, he likes to do things like made his own little metal springs by wrapping wire. I don't know if he's ever going to finish the project (and I don't really care), but it's wonderful to see him really involved in something besides the TV. He seems to be having a lot of fun/is happy. Which makes me happy.
  2. Noticed Path of Exile now has purchaseable Awakening beta keys (via supporter packs) so I bought a pack, loaded up the beta (separate install), made a lvl 1 guy and started playing. Noticed a waypoint was moved, that the balance for Act1/normal is indeed altered a bit, and that yes, the passive tree now has slots for gems - but not very many can be easily/sensibly reached per chr, seems like. beat up the first Butcher-like partial-boss and quit. ...not sure I'll play the beta more. A peek into it is enough. I'd rather wait until June when I can use my lvl60's to check out Act4, vs. having to start allll over again just to see it in the non-permanent beta.
  3. Perception is not for finding secrets, Mechanics is what you need for that.
  4. Oh I'm still me, I'm sure. Although, judging by the mystery boxes of catnip, wheatgrass and chicken liver treats appearing on my doorstep recently, I'm starting to think leaving my laptop out in the living room at night might be unwise...
  5. Anyone ever read Asimov's short "Hostess?" This thread reminds me of that, a little.
  6. Running my allergic butt up to Inverness to hang out with a relative in Point Reyes. Inverness is one of those few places around here that I would love to retire to. Probably won't happen, but it's one of the places. Fond childhood memories, weather that suits me, etc.
  7. Taken, the "extended" cut. Mostly, it's interesting to note the tiny bits they removed to get the PG-13 rating (I think that's why). I mean, sometimes these 1 frame bits. Hardly anything, really. It's all so silly.
  8. I've tried starting solo runs (just on Normal...) but I lose interest pretty fast. Solo for me is kinda dull in these games. Nothing to do with challenge/difficulty. Maybe I just prefer more mindless/action for solo, without all the story padding. I still haven't gotten a Pillars "2nd run" past Act1. Lots and lots of new chrs. started, none get past that point. Kind of gave up for now. Maybe in a few weeks. Right now I'm not playing anything. After playing survival games a while, then Pillars, I'm back to being largely uninterested in gaming at all, period.
  9. Caught up on Supernatural again, although I might have missed an episode or two. Still not grooving on this season, but nice to have Castiel back, and the "boys are back in town" car scene was awesome. And Crowley is always fun. Maybe he should have his own spin-off someday.
  10. ^ I've been coughing a lot the past couple days. No flu...think it's mold/pollen allergies again. Constant/bad post nasal drip that clogs the lungs, where you start sleeping sitting up. Hope it doesn't get like it did a few summers ago. Blargh.
  11. ^ Kind of what it sounds like to me, too. But who knows.
  12. I kept choosing the bonus spells...they were occasionally handy to have in longer fights after using up most of his high lvl slots, vs. needing scrolls or having him just using his wand, since they become per encounter use later. No idea if that was the "best" decision to make, however.
  13. Hubby's running through The Guardian, an older lawyer type of series. In one, Michael Dorn has a small guest role. I'll always think of him as Mr. Woof and hence it's always a bit odd to see him without Klingon makeup. Makes me want to toss in some ST:TNG DVD's.
  14. A couple of wasps have somehow made their way into my kitchen and my husband is not here to kill them for me (I have adverse reactions to stings). Trying to figure out a way to kill it with zero danger to me/not spraying insecticide all over the pantries/house. Maybe I'll just leave the house for a while...
  15. Original thread/part 1 Link to actual review: http://www.rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=9867 Discuss/continue.
  16. Apologies for any inconvenience...but I think at this point it may be best to have a fresh/neutral part 2 of this topic.
  17. Hm, I go to sleep and ... I will take any "blame" here, for not creating a part 2 myself when I closed the original. I had assumed ... well sometimes I assume wrong. I feel it may be best at this point to close both this and the other thread to create a fresh/neutral start for any who still wish to continue debating the merits (or lack of) of the Codex review. Thanks.
  18. This is why I always keep a nice stockpile of highly scented citrus-y candles. Because even tho I ordinarily don't like artificial scents, it's still better than having to smell ... some other stuff. *stares at her cat* Friends I know prefer incense sticks, but for some reason my nose doesn't like any of those.
  19. Yeah, I'm kind of in agreement, although probably for different reasons. I like party rpg's, but these days I'm not as into managing large parties. I much prefer having 2-3, I think. It feels more ... personal. (not that I didn't goof off with mods to have more companions in FO:NV...but that was for lulz after finishing the game). Since I was never a big stealth/rogue type, Pillar's version doesn't really bother me ... but neither does it reinvent the wheel in a way that made me go "cool, now I like stealth." It's definitely a bit weird.
  20. Ahahaha....that's hilarious. And rather awesome. Need more based on the team, like that.
  21. Well I'm going to be the big fat party-pooper and state the obvious in that this thread is far beyond the usual thread post count limit. Time to close this one. Feel free to create a part 2.
  22. Depends on what your motivation is for doing it. eg, if "worth your time" means "lots of views on YouTube" - I'd have no idea. The release-rush interest period is over and so I'd guess it'd be the kind of video that would slowly get views over time, but likely nothing extraordinary in that regard, unless you framed the videos in some unusual presentation way (not just straight recording/uploading).
  23. It greys out in the main listing and text description of the last step in the main journal log greys out + description usually says something about how you finished it.
  24. Yeah, outside of maybe having two fighters, I don't personally like to double-up on same classes most of the time, unless doing something quirky like "6 wizards!" I had Kana in the back using a gun and he almost never had to defend - enemies paid him no mind unless the rest of the party wiped first. The benefits of the chants can be subtle but they can be better than I think some give credit for, especially in later game.
