What of the Ancient Sith lords
Shdy314 replied to Darth Reven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Please read ALL before replying to one section. Korriban doesn't center around the Sith tombs anymore than Taris centers around Davik. Korriban's focus is first and foremost on the Sith Academy. The Sith tombs are just an interesting place one of which is used in testing conducted by the Academy and that is currently undergoing study by them. The Sith tombs are not a major part of the main story or Korriban by any stretch of the imagination just because dead Sith Lords are kewl. The fact you spent a lot of time somewhere does not make it important. I spent a lot of time in the upper city cantina on Taris which didn't have a single main plot related thing going on. (Since the quest for the Sith uniform can be done without getting invited to the party.) That was just my choice. Your choice was to explore every inch of the tombs because their kewl. Thats fine. But there were other ways to get enough prestige and nothing main quest related went on while exploring the tombs. There was no ball to drop. KOTOR wasn't The Dead Sith Lords on Korriban. The ball was dropped in not fleshing out Revan and Malak more. Might being able to have used the tablet or holocron to learn some interesting background on Korriban on the Sith have been kewl? Sure. ....So what's your point? We don't need to know any more about them in KOTOR. It's just a tomb of a dead Sith Lord. Nothing more needs knowing about them. Your problem now is that you weren't given background info on the tombs themselves? Maybe you wanted to ask Uthar for a history lesson? Of course their knowledge of the history of the Sith has pretty much been lost with the death of Kun and extinction of the Massassi. So he probably couldn't have told you much more than Ajunta does. Many SW fans do not know EU and many people that don't even really know SW played KOTOR so your being willing to excuse Ragnos and Sadow's lack of information is silly. My best friend is a SW fan but doesn't know a shred of the EU. When he played the game it didn't bother him in the slightest that he didn't know exactly what Marka Ragnos did or Naga Sadow did. It doesn't matter. They were Sith Lords they got buried on Korriban. Ragnos made as much sense to him as Ajunta did. It only bothers you because you think because two Sith Lords are nearby these two characters you know really well they should have as much detail but they didn't need it and so they didn't receive it. Let's keep in mind MOST Sith were buried on Korriban. They aren't all going to get comic book series about them. Played Jedi Academy? That had them trying to ressurect Ragnos with no information on him at all other than him being the First Great Sith Lord. And he was a big part of the main story. Come to think of it his tomb looked a LOT different....Darn Bioware dropped the ball again and got his tomb wrong! They made up two living Sith Lords also that had some serious indiscrepancies with the EU. Like the Darth title. They had also never been mentioned before despite having a major role in galactic history. Namely wiping out the Mandalorians in the wars. Your "outrage" over something so minor is odd given your silence on something almost exactly the same as what you complain about(important Sith Lords with little backstory and major importance in the SW universe) but 10x worse. You keep assuming they DID something major. Why do you assume this? Proximity to Ragnos and Sadow? Because Ajunta is said to have a powerful sword? I got news for you. It wasn't a very good sword. Neither was Sadow's sword. There were much better weapons and much better swords to use. Sometimes legends have a way of exaggerating things. Especially when you have someone as powerful as say Sadow. He probably could have used a stick and people would have wondered if it wasn't some uber powerful force imbued stick torn from a tree grown by him and infused with all the power of the dark side he ripped from it in a dark rage etc. Perhaps they were there for other reasons. Maybe Ajunta was there JUST because he was one of the first Dark Jedi. How can you be one of the first to discover and harness the power of the dark side and NOT be famous? Even if he didn't destroy entire worlds or anything he can still be revered. Maybe Tulak was just a very wealthy influential Sith (like say Kressh) even though he wasn't an amazingly powerful force user like Sadow. I think the idea that these tombs are equivalent to the great pyramids of Egypt is ludicrous. Many extremely famous and important pharaohs were buried at the Valley of the Kings and not in pyramids. Which does not diminish what they did in the slightest. And who can argue which is most important? Is the most important pharaoh the one with the biggest pyramid? For goodness sakes you don't think the VALLEY with the tombs of 4 Sith Lords in it wasn't influenced at all by the Valley of the Kings? It was the first thing I thought. Kewl a burial valley for the important Sith... reminds me of the Valley of the Kings. Proximity also has nothing to do at all with importance. What you think Sith tombs were rearranged every time someone died in order of who they considered most important? Of course not. Who says Tulak Hord is on the same level as Ragnos or Sadow? Proximity does not imply equal importance. We also have to take into account that Bioware made their worlds nice and compact. So we may have a false sense of proximity. If they had made their worlds larger maybe they would have decided to place these burial sites 100's of miles from each other. Also there are not a million famous Sith Lords for this time frame just waiting to be placed in those tombs. There's Ragnos, Sadow, Kressh, Kun and Nadd. (Maybe Ive missed one or two.) Of those I doubt Kressh is buried on Korriban, Kun is on Yavin, and Nadd is destroyed. So Bioware could have had two tombs or they could have added a few to add to the kewlness, create some new Sith Lords (easily done since so many are still completely unknown). And if you had the chance would you pass up getting to create a new Sith Lord? Ok first of all we did get some backstory on the tombs and Korriban. As much as we needed. Like why the Academy is there. How Revan found the tomb. (Star Map) Who the tombs hold. Old important Sith Lords. etc. Beyond that were getting into unnecessary detail. There are many sourcebooks, comics, novels etc. with a lot of information on Korriban and the Sith that would have filled a lot of those little datapads. Second of all I think examining some drawings on a wall would have been 1. pretty stupid since the Sith were not a primitive race once the Dark Jedi came. They had technology. Why would they paint murals on a wall in a tomb to tell a story they would assume everyone would know? I just can't buy the Dark Jedi ever decorating their tombs with their life story. Not when one even has a frinkin' computer in it for goodness sakes. Not when you have Force ghosts and datapads etc. 2. There are much kewler ways to learn the rise and fall of the Sith. A holocron with some info or kewlest of all talking to a force ghost of one of those Sith Lords....hmmmm. I mean how much information do you want? They aren't going to put full copies of the ToTJ in there in datapads or whatever. And summaries of it would just confuse casual players even more since they'd be wondering what it had to do with anything(since they wouldn't realize there even is a comic book series with Ragnos and such) and if they should keep it etc. I agree. Nothing is perfect. Something can always be improved. Regardless I too still enjoyed KOTOR immensely. -
What of the Ancient Sith lords
Shdy314 replied to Darth Reven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They were a minor part of the story so they got minor treatment. Did I ever learn the entire history of Taris. Or the lifestory of that doctor on Taris, etc. No. It'd be ridiculous and bog down the game. Korriban was a planet used to bury dead important Sith. Big surprise that there might be some relatively unknown lords buried there. Look at the "Valley of the Kings" in Egypt. Not everyone buried there is a Tut or Ramses. There is far more to complain about in the lack of development and information in Malak. A major part of the story. His jaw or lack thereof for example. -

Shdy314 replied to Darth Reven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Seriously. It's no different than Taris or The Star Forge, or REVAN (ESPECIALLY Revan since he is one of the most powerful Jedi/Sith EVER), and Malak etc. not having an EU basis. KOTOR IS EU. Complaining something was introduced you hadn't read about before is silly. The whole story is new EU material. There are also unknown Sith Lords that Ajunta and Tulak could now be considered as. -
Wow. That would have been really stupid.

[RUMOR] Info on new TSL Character
Shdy314 replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I didn't say that they wouldn't send Sion. It says he is the leader of the Sith Assassins. That's why I think he'd be the head guy for the group of Sith Assassins. And besides, how can he be the main boss if someone else sends him after you. I would consider him to be more in line with Darth Maul or something. That's fine. Akari did just say he wasn't the main boss. I was just pointing out I think Sion is far more than an underling as you said and much more than a navy seal commander. He is probably right below most Sith Lords If not actually one. I didn't get a sense he was ORDERED by the higher ups to eradicate the Jedi but rather that was the job that fell to him due to his and his followers... abilities. -
Y can't be the default button for switch weapon! What about our lightsaber flourishes!? I guess it could be another button...

Sounds more like the work of an underling though. A leader of the Sith Assassins, who takes his orders from a Sith Lord. I would think that Sion would be like the leader of some Navy SEAL team or something coming after you. Okae let's see. Jedi Order eradicated? Check. Outer Rim secure? Check. Inner Worlds ripe for conquest? Check. Only Jedi that can stop us is dead? UH whooops. Missed one. Who should we send to handle the only one capable of keeping us from galactic domination? I think Bob just finished his Sith Assassin training. OH yeah send him. This will be a good practice mission for him. I don't know about you but I'd send Sion. As for Sion's level of power he doesn't sound like just some captain or commander. He holds his body together through hate and force power alone? Im guessing he's an equal to the other Sith Lords or almost an equal. I have to believe the leader of an entire sect of Sith Assassins is more than a little bit of a badass. -
Your one of few/none I know.

If Czerka is stronger then how come they're allways ambushed in the dessert and either killed or captured. Uh you mean why are lightly armed civilians having trouble driving off well equipped knowledgeable (in both combat and the geography/terrain) religious fanatics willing to die to drive them off? Gee I wonder. But Czerka Corp also has security forces and such, Hey they even hired ME, that are stronger than the Sand People and COULD wipe them out if they found Tattooine to be profitable enough to warrant such an expenditure of credits. Do I own Tattooine since I can wipe out entire clans with just myself and two friends?
-
Which is understandable but when you kill EVERYONE including the people that want to help you and have gone so far as to recover a frigging Krayt Dragon pearl for you because they ask a simple question that threatens your fragile egocentric view of the universe they lose my sympathy. I like the Selkath too. Even their voices. Thats my point. Wookies claim their own moral superiority and intelligence and deny the fact they are no different than any of theother races in their capacity for good or evil. Thus leaving them open to wookies like Chuundar. A race that deep in denial deserves what it gets especially at the hands of their OWN freaking people. There are things Id rather not believe about humans but I don't close my eyes and disregard all evidence to the contrary just because I dont WANT to believe it. I pitied them only because they were so stupid and ignorant of themselves and outsiders. They were like a big race of retards. And I liked opening Zaalbar's father's eyes and helping them "kind of" break tradition. I wish I could have convinced him to go back and rule because he SHOULD rule and Chuundar was a **** than because he had half of some stupid sword but baby steps. Baby steps.
-
Oh well Czerka Corp is stronger than the sand people so they own it now. Oh well Jawas dont have the military might of the Sand People so it's not their planet. I don't remember Selkath saying that. Doesn't make much sense to say your kind isn't welcome here then build a big city for them and hang out in that city to tell them they don't belong. And I hardly think a few Selkath represent the views of the majority of Selkath. It was clear with the Wookies and Sand People the vast majority hated outsiders since every single one talks about how pathetic and evil you automatically are for being an outsider while they live crappy lives in squalor. But if there are Selkath saying that, it is probably a minority based on their races actions and most Selkath's dialogue. There are also political overtones to the city of Manaan that they may be referring to more than a cultural or specieist superiority. They don't want to be involved in the war for either side so some Selkath when you try and speak to them voice their opinion that they wish you'd just go away and leave them alone. Not in the sense you're a filthy human but a dang Republic or Sith soldier bringing a war they don't care about to their planet.

I don't think there'd be more than one sect of assassins. Or it would probably say Sion leads THE group of Sith assassins in charge of eradicating the Jedi Order. Not A sect. -

As has been mentioned before, Sion doesn't seem like the "final boss" type, and the guy whose face they stick everywhere is usually the main villain's. As I mentioned he could very well be the main villain. There is no doubt the guy in all the wallpapers and art with the mask is the main baddie. Villains wear a mask for two reasons. Physical deformation: Malak, Vader etc. Secrecy because it is important people not know who they are. Revan in the cutscenes. So Sion's twisted body is an excellent reason for a full face mask and robes covering every inch of his body. The Sith Lords don't have a need to keep their identity secret. He also has the most important role in killing the Jedi including the PC. Not saying he definitely is. But that he is a good candidate. -

I didn't say Sion was put it in charge of the hunt the quote from Tyrell says it. Ok. HEHEHE. Man some people take things so insanely literal. You think there's 5 different sects of Sith assassins or something? As I pointed out already. I did NOT say he was the sole guy in charge of hunting the PC. Just that he would obviously have the most direct and active role of any of the Sith Lords. Who are the Sith going to send to stop the Jedi they believe is the only one that can stop them? Sith troopers? NO. Their going to send the Sith Assassins and who is going to be leading those Sith assassins? Sion. Yes you will run into other enemies when going to worlds and stopping Sith Lords. Yes they will send people including troops to try and kill you if they find out the Ebon Hawk is in the sector etc. But the one actively hunting you down would be Sion. Assuming this is more than just a rumor. -
Its just Tyrell's and my thing. He does something silly and I point it out.

You misunderstood the quote. It says Sion is one of the Sith Lords hunting down the Jedi. Sion is not the only one doing this. From what I've heard of the game, all of the Sith Lords will be after the remaining Jedi. There isn't just one guy in charge of the hunt. I didn't misunderstand anything. The only part I see relating to that is this... "as the leader of a sect of Sith assassins sent to wipe out the Jedi Order, Sion and the player are destined to cross paths." We know your PC is considered the last remaining Jedi for some reason. Or at least the only Jedi that can stop them. Who would then have the most direct and active (I did NOT say sole) role in finding and killing the PC? And you completely disregarded the other stuff I said. -
Again, if she were real I'll **** her. For those who are dumb enough to believe it means "I'll astrik her", you're incorrect, it spells out to be the 4-letter F word that is followed by the letter u then c then ended with k. Got any problems, well too bad, sue me then. B) What are you two? Spelling out a 4 letter word. Sue me?

Shdy314 replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I could see him being the main villain. Who is a more bad ass Sith than the one you put in charge of wiping out the freaking Jedi Order? Who is more likely to have the most active and direct role in hunting down the PC? Let's not forget the whole broken, twisted body thing which inevitably leads to a mask. Malak didn't have that mask just for looks. Also continues the same vein of physically mutilated Sith Lords. Vader, Malak, Emperor(with his decayed and withering body). He could use a little more backstory sure. But he's already got about as much as Malak. At the least Im sure he'll be a pretty big boss. Assuming the rumor is actually accurate. -
The wookies were too stupid to figure out what was going on and blinded by their traditions and everything. Oh whats this Chuundar is dealing with slavers? Oh but you attacked him with your claws so I wont listen to anything you have to say blah blah. If thats how their going to be they deserve what they get. But I ended up pitying them more than the sand people. They distrust outsiders and have seemingly unswerving loyalty to Chuundar. How ironic. Of course there's also the fact once youve gained their trust asking a simple question doesnt make every single one of them go psycho on you. As for the Selkath... I dont see the similarity. The Selkath are very well off especially compared to the wookies and Sand people. They were not occupied. They had dealings with foreigners because they werent psycho isolationists and wanted the goods they could trade kolto for. They built a city just to house non-selkath. Their smart and diplomatic. Everything the wookies and sand people aren't. It was also kind of a joke on the psychoness of the sand people. They should take a page from the Jawas book and ditch the religious ideaological fanaticism. Speaking of which who "owns" Tattooine? The Jawas or Sand People. The Jawas dont mind the miners being there. The Sand People do. Who has "ownership"? Where do the Jawas even come in? The Sand People histories don't suggest anything about who or what Jawas are. Of course their history is insanely egocentric.
-
I did the same thing. You get to hear the background, get all the XP, walk away with the Krayt Pearl, and kill all the sandpeople without any dark side points. Same here. Who wouldn't? I understand their trying to protect their land from foreign invaders but let's face it. The Sand People are ****. My lightside Jedi can make an exception.
