Either way, the SW OT DVDs has already setted records with the most pre-orders at many stores and is expected to sell a ton. So obviously the Greedo situation or any other situation for that matter....really doesn't seem to be a concern. Ah yes of course. Quantity equals quality. Of course.

Only Obsidian is reliable. Only Obsidian knows. There's rampant speculation like this in games all the time. Gamespot for example has had estimated release dates that have passed with the game still not out and didnt update it for weeks. Their goal is to get you to preorder. And having an earlier estimated release date helps that. Unfortunately there is nothing to stop them because they can say they were only guesstimating. I certainly hope KOTOR2 is out sooner bug free and packed full of goodness but Im not holding my breath.

You should probably rephrase that to "It's too bad I have to play as a Jedi" since the rest of us understand that the game is designed around the PC being a Jedi. Since we're here following the game, I think it is clear that we don't think it is too bad to have to play as a Jedi. You're in the minority Hades......not everyone thinks that a game has to give complete freedom of character development in order to be good (in fact I'd wager that very few feel that it is quite the necessity you make it out to be). Not everyone knows what makes a good crpg either. Including you.

That is very true. I just see it like this though. GL is a man, like every man he makes mistakes and many mistakes that many can point out. Overall I like the man and respect him. Again, if it wasn't from him then we wouldn't be talking about a TSL. Hell, if it wasn't from the prequels we probably wouldn't be talking about a TSL. The prequels gave SW more life in my mind. Some for the negative and some for the postive, but at the end it obviously worked cause....you are here right now. I'm looking for it as of now but I remember an old KOTOR interview in which the guy said that KOTOR was heavily inspired by the prequels. :ph34r: Gl may be a man and yes he can make mistakes but as the creator of SW and a man with incredible resources at his disposal there is no excuse for the stupidity of the prequels. GL isnt making honest mistakes. He's just flat out being stupid. I am here IN SPITE of the prequels. Your idea the prequels must work somehow just because we dont entirely abandon SW is absurd but Id expect nothing less from you. If it werent for him blah blah thered be no SW blah blah. Maybe so but would we be worse off for it? Not really. Not if hes just going to butcher SW. It is not like he invented pennicillin. I can live without SW. You go find that interview because it doesnt exist. KOTOR was an homage to the ORIGINALS. NOT the prequels. If you hung out on the Bio boards fans regulary started topics on the fact KOTOR reminded them of the prequels and they found this distressing. It took a lot of soothing from other posters and the devs that KOTOR would not be as horrible as the prequels. So maybe the prequels inspired the art of KOTOR. I am fine with that. The prequels definitely look nice. But they borrowed storyline elements from the originals which is why KOTOR was good. Overall I dont like GL and I dont respect him just because he made 3 good movies. He didnt do it alone.

Yep, that's why so many Jedi died in the Clone Wars. Nah Jedi died in the Clone Wars because at some point Jedi became wussy peace keepers that could barely fulfill that role. They never had a chance. Now if the Jedi would just act like freaking warriors they could have used their powers logically and to their full advantage and won any war. The way I thought of the Jedi when i first saw ANH were as some kind of mystical wandering knights/warrior poets. Thats what they should be. None of this I am going to stand in a small little arena thats is overflowing with enemy droids firing blasters at me when I COULD just disengage and just straight back up into the stands and retreat. But nooooo they have to fight and die in the stupidest way imaginable because George Lucas is an idiot.

A darker story doesn't necessarily mean more mass destruction. Sometimes it's the more personal tragedies that make the mood more somber or 'dark'. In saying that, keep in mind that I actually don't know a whole lot of the story of the game. Most of it is in the designers' heads more than in docs, and I don't have a lot of time to read story docs to begin with. Too busy coding. But I know how Avellone writes, and I do know a few details or ideas that are going to happen. -Akari Okay, that clears up many things. So really it is a darker story but more smaller and personal. I guess I get it now. Finally.

Technically a Jedi should be able to just force push the rocket back. I don't find Mira's wrist rocket launcher to be some great Jedi equalizer. Jedi will be uber. It's just how it is in SW. Best they can do is make Mira and others just so kewl you have to take them along sometime.

If youve seen KOTOR youve seen KOTOR2. KOTOR2 looks a little nicer and it will look better with a polished version of the game. But youre not going to get any "shock" from it.

Only people worth hiding your Jediness from is other force users who can see past your clothing. I doubt most NPCs would want to get involed in anyway with Jedi. They are fully aware of the uberness of the Jedi and Sith. Sometimes being in disguise definitely makes sense though.
