  1. I don't understand your problem with it then. You didn't HAVE to use the Jedi skills. You could have just armed your PC with a blaster and armor instead, and disregarded his/her Force ability. The game didn't FORCE (pardon the pun) you to use the Force, or stack up your Jedi abilities. You could have easily played through the entire game as a regular person. In essense, KOTOR DID give you the option. You chose to use the Jedi skills. Hes not strong enough to resist his munchkin impulses when they are right there at the push of a button.
  2. You know what I meant. Heck you can make kobolds be a danger even to characters at level 12 especially if you are in a really low magic setting. My point was whatever horrors you were inflicting on your fellow DnDers you were providing them with a challenge. Despite the fact such levels are very high in DnD and many people whine that PCs at this level are too powerful.
  3. HA! Bendak can be killed by a level 2 scoundrel. Some challenge. The rancor? Uh just put some bait and a grenade and voila he's dead. As for characters reaching 15-18 those are damn high levels man. A party of adventurers at that level would cut a swath through MOST enemies. I imagine though you didnt have them taking on kobolds. Same go for Jedi. Jedi should fight Sith and certain beasts and LARGE groups of soldiers etc.
  4. I imagine the PCs a few levels before reaching godhood must have been pretty powerful yes? I imagine you still managed to find challenges for them until they reached godhood yes? At least I hope so. Not sure why you can't find challenges for a Jedi. Even GL can do it. We all know combat was way too easy in KOTOR but it was easy the whole time. Even when you are just a soldier/scoundrel/scout on Taris. So saying Jedi are overpowered because KOTOR is so easy is fallacious logic.
  5. Killing them in a different way. :D What the hell does that mean? You aren't going to be able to redeem most Sith without showing them your strength in combat. Showing a Sith that the lightside is powerful enough to still beat them down no matter how bada** they think they are with their DS powers is a big step in convincing them back to the light.
  6. Dont reach for it. Have it in your hand at all times and play for hours on end. B)
  7. Uh but we can play D20 which does present challenges to Jedi PCs. So there is your evidence its a design flaw. As for bashing the developers you try making a game that satisfies 100% of players in every possible way. Oh and enough with calling it munchkin. It isn't munchkin to have a world with powerful people. Are gods in DnD munchkin? Oh wait to self righteous Rpers they probably are.
  8. A scoundrel level 8 with 12 levels of Jedi in a level 20 Jedi universe SHOULD be a challenge. Its a game design flaw. Not a character flaw.
  9. jedi arent munchkin. they are meant to be super powerful. If they were just as powerful as a scroundrel the SW universe would make no sense. All that KOTOR2 needs is to present proper challenges for Jedi PCs. Hopefully they will. Nothing worse than the self righteous RPers talking about how this or that is munchkin blah blah.
  10. Thats the games fault for not throwing the proper challenges at a Jedi charcter. Not an intrinsic fault of being Jedi. Jedi are overpowered compared to other classes because they are meant to be. But there are still situations and opponents that SHOULD challenge them.
  11. There are always limitations in a CRPG.
  12. If she has pacifistic tendencies, she's probably in the wrong line of work. Depends on if you want to take your bounty alive or dead. I do believe Mira is a scout then she probably gets the bounty hunter prestige class. All speculation though.
  13. Malak was your buddy. Revan had no apprentice but was very charismatic and had many followers when he went to fight in the Mandolarian wars. No apprentices but Im sure he had some influence on them. When Revan became a Sith Master Malak grudgingly accepted the apprentice role. It would be really dumb if Revan had an apprentice. The Jedi would not throw you out for disobeying your master. Its a title of respect you arent his slave. Especially if he was giving you questionable orders.
  14. No, being 'force' sensitive only means you can use the force. Then why is your character in KOTOR the only one with the "force sensitive" power? Just look at either your force power or feat tab in KOTOR, don't remember right now wich one it is... None of the other Jedi in your party has it. As far as I remember "force sensitivity" is supposed to represent a higher/superior connection to the force compared to other force users. Not in SW D20. ALL it means there is your character can use the force. Why is this different in KOTOR? Because it is inspired by D20 it is not a direct translation. As for why they called it "force sensitivity" instead of something else. Not really sure. maybe because it sounds kewl and casual gamers have no clue what D20 is?
  15. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...l=fixing+skills A post I started that began on fixing skills and evolved into much of what you just posted. Yep. That's why I am interested in Vampite TM Bloodlines. Yes largely they have. Though they followed the Tolkien model. Id still consider Daiblo and FF roleplaying just very shallow roleplaying. Definitely not the same kind as VTM.
  16. Powergamer Galore, anyone? ^_^ What are you smiling at ?!? This is dire news... <_< Not if youre a powergamer. Then again what's the point of being a powergamer if the game is so ridiculously easy even the hardcore RPers and casual players have uber characters.
  17. A Yuuzhan Vong coral skipper? Why in the hell would he go off in search of an object Canderous said fled outside the galaxy? He wouldn't. I also really doubt they'd introduce the Vong in any serious way.
  18. I was referring to Maia's post. A little tip don't say Duh. We aren't 12. Anyways what sort of connection do you think there is? Like you said uncharted space=unknown regions. This is where the star forge was. Actually that is exactly what happened. Revan sensed the power of the star map(which is a dark side artifact) and decided to go investigate. Revan searched for the star forge out of curiousity and a thirst for knowledge. As your Jedi Master explains to you when warning how easy it is to fall to the DS. He found this incredibly mysterious object(that predated the republic) talking about a long extinct civilization, an incredible creation etc. Who wouldn't want to go find something like that? He decided to search out the other star maps because he had to find the other ones to find the location of the star forge. Does no one pay attention to the dialogue and story anymore? Link the screenshot. I think it's more likely that is Telos. Maybe. The rakatan planet/star forge IS where Revan ended up in unknown space/regions. Doubt it.
  19. I would have thought it was a male for sure until I read that it was Juhani. Scary.
  20. Boy what is there not to get? The Star Forge is what Revan went to find in uncharted space. It's uncharted space NOT the outer rim. The Mandalorian war was in the outer rim as were some of the planets the star maps were on. After that he took the fleet into unknown space (using the information from the maps) where they discovered the star forge. The fleet was pulled down by the field around the Rakatan planet (hence the massive amount of wreckage of republic ships on the world) Revan learned (as we find out on the Rakatan planet) how to control the field traveled up to the Star Forge and used it to amass a giant Sith fleet within months. There may be some plot twist relating to Revan's past, how he fell to the dark side and his relationship if any with the protagonist in KOTOR2 but there is no mystery in why Revan went into uncharted space in KOTOR1.
  21. He went to the Dark Side fighting in the Mandalorian Wars(which required a lot of hard choices/sacrifice and killing) and then trying to unravel the secrets of the Star Maps and Star Forge. Which are Dark side artifacts. MAYBE there's something more specific that happened that will tie in to the PC in KOTOR2. We'll have to wait and see. P.S. The uncharted space was where the Star Forge/Rakatn world was. That's what he took the fleet to go find.
